    It feels almost silly to be this sad over a pet passing away, especially since it only just now hits me.

      I know this is a late reply, but I'm sorry to hear about that, MM. I know what it's like, and I don't think it's silly. Pets can be like best friends. The dog I have now is pretty old, and I know I'm really going to miss her when she's gone.
