  1. Ha-ha-ha, The funniest I find the bears, themselves! Good job, thanks!
  2. Well, yes, it is in their tandem that the drawbacks outweigh the contribution. And they are woven together, you cannot look at them separately and still expect a good result (movie). Unless you mean the reasons I give are weak. Then I would have a bone to pick with you. :okiedokielokie:
  3. Wait, have you people not seen the deleted scenes with the audio commentary? If so I strongly recommend clicking this blue link (availability of video subject to change. My Little Pony, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic: Equestria Girls are trademarks of Hasbro Inc. Ltd. I guess, I don't know really. Anyway the point is while Hasbro has been liberal with the scenes from the show and/or movies, thesleves, the audio commentary is a feature, belonging explicitly to the customers who purchased the DVD, thus falling into the sphere of copyright infringement or some other, I don't know that many fancy words or legal terms, and thus the video may be removed as to not harm sales of the DVDs. Hey, don't pester me about it - I'm just a warning sign!) Just to sum it up: The Duet:The crew really loved the duet and were relieved saddened to have had to scrap it, the reason being they could not fit in the "subplot" (as the youngsters call it) of Sunset Shimmer being homesick. They do not mention this, but let me tell you that in films in general and in children films even more so - "less is more". You always want to avoid putting too much of anything, in this case the film already had a main storyline with enough caused tension/pressure for the protagonists, which is what you need for any film - the addition of Sunset's desire to return to Equestria would add to it, but not in the linear way you would want and it would cause the viewer to lose track of a portion of the entire concept. I will not repeat this point again, but it is valid for each deleted scene. The Cafe Scene:This scene could would certainly cause confusion as to which Twilight was which and even if it didn't (which it wouldn't have) it would still be problematic, as then Twilight would either have to pay a visit to her friends or disappear without doing so, which would be strange and if she did visit her friends she would have to help them, making her a "magical ringer" Sunset calls on in time of need. Instead going the way of Princess Twilight being unreachable allows the film to explore Sunset's character more by putting her in charge of the situation and developing her in this group of friends. In addition you cannot have too many main characters. While you know there are six or seven main characters, in reality (in the films and in the television show) the focus is only on one or two, at most, at the same time. The easiest example being the first Equestria Movie - while you have six main characters, the action only ever mainly revolves around Twilight. This is mandatory in film, even if you gather everybody's favourite characters, you cannot put them all into focus or the film will become mush. Even though I said two at most - this is allowed for the television format, but in a film it is best to have a single main character and a cast of supporting "main" characters, that is why Twilight's presence would have been even more problematic. The Alternate Ending:Having this ending would change three things: 1. Human Twilight would have to not be in Canterlot High and not be with her new friends. 2. Crystal Prep's students would have to become protagonists or, at the very least, friendly semi-protagonists (or whatever) which limits some interactions with them - namely, it voids the future possibility of more authentic rivalry. (Personally I can't wait for the movie where each of our beloved characters goes against her "opposite" self) 3. Human Twilight would not be able to be an integral part of future events. She would have to visit and be more of a guest appearance, returning to Crystal Prep every time, which would wear thin quite quickly. I am skipping the Hallway Scene, as what I have said about the duet is completely valid for it, as well.
  4. I can't believe no one has requested this, yet. Could you please sketch Stalin and Skeletor fighting mounted on bears (which are also fighting)?
  5. Meh, I personally really don't think they went lazy on anything, but I respect your opinion. I honestly have no idea.
  6. You are, perhaps, implying anyone ever reads past the first posting on a topic? (including me, of course )
  7. You have no idea how hard I'd watch that. But no, it is a problem of miscommunication, there is no series entitled "Equestria Academy", ready to ship in France. At least not an official one by Hasbro. And at least not for now (I am keeping my hopes up for later, though). The whole thing is nothing more than an error in communication that started from a single wrongfully translated sentence of a French toy site (ToyzMag.com) which sort of stated what everyone must have heard by now. A more complete, for once, translation would be: Therefore, first of all, no series will be aired in France, it is supposed to be presented at "Kidexpo". However it is a bit shady that a French toy site would cite the exposition as taking place in November, when it actually took place in October. Furthermore no second mention of this animated series can be found anywhere, apart from repeatings of the one and same mistaken sentence. Nor the Kidexpo site, nor the part of the Internet, pertaining to Kidexpo 2014, have any mentions of Equestria Girls, at all. Which is rendered even more mysterious by the fact that Hasbro had a "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" stand there, which was reported on (they showed their new toy line "Rainbow Power" and from the only available scraps of information I surmise they had their new "construct your own pony" toys available). Hasbro's only other recorded presentations were concerning Furbies, the game Simon (Says) and Monopoly. The French toy site (ToyzMag.com) goes on to mention that:. The "has" part is supposed, as it is written grammatically wrong (the whole article, in fact, does not lack grammatical errors), and given the terrible complexity of the French language, it could be 10 different tenses. I ask of you to pardon my lacking translator skills, however to the defense of my case I shall state that the French language makes little to no sense when deprived of context (or, on the contrary - it makes too much sense, just the kind that either is not at all specific or contradicts itself), and the sole two paragraphs of the cited article have next to no context. You would think that this sentence is quite straightforward, alas the mystery deepens. It is one hell of an effort to practically guess what they were trying to say, as the cover page for the April issue of said magazine features Optimus Prime and Grimlock, two characters/toys/brand that is/are also mentioned at the start of ToyzMag's article and nothing related to My Little Pony and/or Equestria Girls. On top of that the broad summary of the April issue for said magazine, located on their site, does not mention anything interesting, either. Unfortunately I was unable to get a hold of an actual issue to verify. In the end all the "fuss" is based on a very poorly written article with little to no actual information that is completely unsupported in all mentioned media and an image (below) that states: "Soon Equestria Academy the school of all successes" Just to clarify, I did hear somewhere that a television series, based on Equestria Girls, is going to be developed, but that was some time ago and it could be that same thing. Just the idea that Hasbro would create a full animated series, while making Season 4, while "Rainbow Rocks" was in production (or about that time) in French and air it in France, before the USA (premiere hot-spot for MLP:FiM) was COMPLETELY ludicrous.
  8. I know Daniel Ingram is making significant contributions to the music, I am quite respectful of that, however all members of the sound team must be applaud. There are sound engineers, all sorts of musicians, lyricists, vocals, production managers, producers and countless others that also have their part and it is only through a team effort that such great masterpieces can be achieved. I do not wish to make it seem I do not count Mr. Ingram's talent, however I also do not wish to exclude anyone that aids in the creation and/or development of such a great vibe. Even the tiniest job should be given praise, no matter how insignificant it may seem, they did their part and the result was completely awesome, my hat is off to all of them.
  9. I would just like to share my story on this. I literally just saw the movie and I cannot say anything but praise for it. Now, I have not read other people's opinions, but I would just like to ask anyone who hates or feels strongly against the new line "Equestria Girls" (and just happens to read this) to consider my point of view, even for just a minute. The most hate I have heard about "Equestria Girls" is, perhaps, because of the change of setting, namely in a high school, which is believed to drag along with it shallow concerns, petty problems and other terrifying concepts, such as romance and some falsely perceived sexualisation. I have seen no degradation in the quality of the story nor the way it is told. It is, after all, an art piece where magical powers try to take over the world, and any person who by the virtue of their own free will watches it should refrain from condemning it due to any "things that do not make sense (plotholes)" and everyone else would do well to realise moving pictures are seldomly anything more than few people keeping visual records of the movement, recited lines and reactions of hired actors to falsely produced lighting, explosions and similar special effects - a movie is indeed an art project where one man (the director) says "This and this happens" with a "because..." thrown in-between sometimes. You either like it or you do not, either is fine, but logic or realism are poor excuses to something that is illogical and unreal, to begin with. Now, maybe it is because I am so ancient, but I can only see the entire line of "Equestria Girls" as nothing but precious. Despite what some people might claim, all I have seen are some kids do what kids do best (when not fighting magical demons, that is ). Like in the short "Perfect Day for Fun", it was just so precious - a bunch of girl-friends just hanging out and having fun with each-other, they seemed so happy that it made me feel happy for them. Or when they had that slumber party in "Rainbow Rocks", Rainbow Dash and Applejack were just so cute playing video games and Pinkie Pie gazing at her laptop, Flutteryshy with the Gummy plush, it was all just so very innocent and adorable. One can only hope his own children would be that charming (even if it is certain they will be, after all - they would be your own children ). Although I can deduce why some people are troubled by the appearance of romance with Flash Sentry, when I see that I can only think how adorable it is going to be when my own daughter (hopefully) one day gets her own first crush, I expect it to be just as cute and charming. I think I had some other points I wished to point out, however all that typing seems to got a lot out of me, so I will refrain for now. XD Other compliments, which I would like to direct to the movie, start with the fact that this was quite a "musical" movie. While I do not believe there was an overwhelming presence of songs, compared to other productions of the same franchise, the premise of a concert/battle of the bands, itself, was highly regarded by me (i.e. it was AWESOME). Being a rock fan I was endlessly delighted to learn that the new movie would not only be titled "Rainbow ROCKS" but feature some sort of concert and I got to see my favourite characters dress in KISS-homage garments (I think [from Hasbro shorts]) and blast out some solid tunes! I know I will be listening to the entire soundtrack non-stop for quite some time. My only regret is I cannot somehow listen to all the songs at once and at the same time to each one separately. XD I do not see much point in simply praising the overall quality of the music in the entire Generation 5, since words would be poor and overly worn out by this point, I would simply agree to their magnificence and only make specific mentions. The sirens' songs were, also, especially good. Not only were they an exquisite vocal performance, I also have to admit their very first one had me under its spell. It posed quite a good point and made me root for them more or less. Considering we are being usually bombarded from all sides by antagonists who wish to rule/destroy/enslave the world by using some form of a really big stick (i.e. a weapon or force of some kind) it was really original for them to perform a song, ushering people to act out, on the premise that everyone is better than the rest (a notion that is way too common to everyone) and encouraging competition. I, myself for the most part, like competition and it is rewarding to prove yourself better than someone else. Still, friendship wins at the end. None the less their initial plot was genial(from genius) in its simplicity. I even loved Trixie's song, its style was so pleasant, while at the same time the lyrics kept true to the singer. Oh, GOD, how I wish Hasbro would make a full legit album. I suppose my only regret is the movie not having more songs. I would kill to hear what Bulging Biceps' violin playing is like. XD And Octavia's cello and the Cutie Mark Crusaders and etc. :3 Cheezus, enough out of me, I should really get a life! XD Post Sctiptum Oh, Gosh, I forgot to honor the already honorable animation, especially the Sirens' choreography was superb! Incredibly well thought out and animated, not only was it well realised but it must have been done with a consultant choreographer - it is that good and professional (considering it is supposed to be at high school tier) Also I know a woman whose hair is so long it reaches her waist and beyond and I KNOW how hard it is to maintain such hair and how well it looks, so even if it is animated I take my hat off to two of the sirens (whose names escape me at the moment): The one with the giant pigtails seemed quite fashionable, considering I do not like pigtails the fact that her hairstyle appealed to me speaks something. And the lead singer - that much hair can NOT be easy to maintain or style!

  11. I honestly don't think there is a bad song in the entire Generation 5. I would never thought it possible, but whoever the persons responsible for this are, they are simply genius, in my opinion.
  12. You are right, I see your point. Though I could continue debating on the matter, I believe we have arrived at a favourable position for the both of us and therefore I rest my case. The whole reason I even started was because the latest generation of the My Little Pony line is very dear to me and I consider it quite innocert and therefore I simply feel sad whenever it is associated in any manner with any sort of malignant notions. I understand your position and bear you no ill will. I just felt sad when I read your opinion.
  13. Yes, I thought you might not be American, at all, but still assumed you were, which is my mistake. I do stand by my generalising, though. Of course the subjects of the possible abuse and mistreatment of minors are a serious issue, but I believe even more so that this is a movie/show/whatever for little kids, it is as innocent as can be and that is why I find any such fretting rather silly. Concern for such a situation in the real world - legit. Concern for two animated characters in a kids show - I am sure it is just a reference/nod to the original series. I generally do not rationalise works of fiction like movies, television shows, theatrical plays and etc. for quite some years now, I have come to accept them as what I believe them to be - a scenario or play, composed, directed and manifested by people for the (let us simplify matters) purpose of entertaining others. I can like it or not like it, but whether something is "legit", "justified", "forced" or "realistically correct" does not occupy my mind. Thus, for me, if Big Mac and Cherilee are shown together there it must be completely normal and everything must be fine. Still, I have my flaws and believe to be petty... so... if Big Mac was "old" enough to have a romance with Cherilee in the original series, I believe the same situation to be proper in the "Girls of Equestria" branch. Maybe he was just having a snack in the cafeteria or maybe the helps/works in the school, or maybe the school doubles as an educational institution for adult, cool, strong personifications of stallions, originating from a show for little girls, watched predominantly by adolescent males. XD
  14. I do not care about anything else, I just want to say this... I loved the first movie. That's it. BUT... This movie is titled "Rainbow Rocks"... so, it is going to be about rainbows, rock and roll and RAINBOWS that ROCK AND ROLL!!! Now, I like rainbows AND rock and roll, so to me it is sounding pretty sweet, as it is... but WAIT! There is more... as it appears Rainbow Dash is going to be more-or-less a central character in the movie, and she is my favourite, better yet she and the rest of the gang are going to form a ROCK BAND titled "The Sonic Rainbooms". OK, awesomeness getting pretty high right here... not only that but they will have rainbow accents in their hair and concert hall, going to have a SICK ROCK CONCERT in sweet 80's style (think crazy hairdos and sick facepainting... KISS taught them well ), Rainbow Dash is going to achieve a Sonic Rainboom-like effect when reaching the pinnacles of guitar shredding and all sorts of supporting characters are going to be there rocking out!!!!!!! *sheds a single, manly tear* I imagine this is what Valhalla is like. The only downside is that, I think, despite what Hasbro has announced, the released shorts, or at least parts of them, are going to be in the movie, which will kind of suck, since we already saw those parts. Just the opening title "Rainbow Rocks" sigh with the light bulbs and the guitar shred... so... awesome... And while I love "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" more than "My Little Pony: Equestria Girls", I just now realised that humanized ponies have ONE very significant advantage over their regular counterparts... they have fingers (big woof)... and... they can ROCK AND ROLL with them!!!! \m/ >.< \m/ I dunno, maybe the Rolling Stones concert is getting to me, but either way I stand firmly by this post.
  15. Oh, yes, it has become sort of the norm in various forms of animation now-days, hasn't it? Sorry, I thought you were genuinely questioning that, as I do try to bring the world closer together by showing new points of view to people.
  16. You know, until recently I was a teeny-tiny bit resentful against the recent developments in communication technologies, all those iPhones, Instagrams, Twitters, etc. I saw them as things that girls just, sort of, stuck their heads really far into, akin to ostriches, and thus did not see, pay attention or care for anything else. But then I sorta was shown that some things, amongst which "selfies", could be beneficial or amusing. This does not mean I have changed my mind that much, and, still, for me a group of girls that go out and only stare at their phones, even though they are with each-other is a truly unpleasant sight, yet when I watch this short what I see is not some stereotypical teenage girls, who twitter all the time they are supposed to be together... but quite the opposite - I see six very good friends, who are out to have fun with each-other, using modern phones as a means to get the most fun and laugh, out of their experience and share it with everyone. All the while being better connected. I don't think whoever came up with all those new communication protocols could have asked for a better use of them. Open your mind and just be happy for other people. I apologise, but I simply had to let you know it is a design choice (the legs, I mean). It seemed off to me, too, at first, but now I love it. The designers made the decision to make their models like this, it is not to be justified, defended or explained, it is simply what they wanted to do, like painters decide how they will paint their masterpieces, as an example - Mr. Picasso's paintings are quite unorthodox, but this does not mean they are inferior or wrong in any way. It is simply a different taste, you do not have to like it, or watch it, if it does not please you, but in either case you will not ever receive a just answer to that question, it simply is the way they are and that is that. You Americans (United States of Americans, that is ) and your constant fretting. -_- Big Macintosh is Applejack's big brother. Applejack is in high school, Big Mac is presumed to be in college, at minimum. He only came to her school to help her with a delivery of apples. They were apples, as I recall, or something similar.
  17. I must say I did not expect much from this movie, I thought it would not be that well made and just for the sake of merchandise. Oh how glad I am that I was wrong! I completely LOVED the movie, it was just so AWESOOOOOOOOOOME!!! I have far since realised that movies are simply for entertainment and therefore am not concerned with any issues pertaining to reality, plot, etc. that are the usual cause of bickering amongst humans. I simply watched it and loved it for what it is, not what it could be. The animation was great, I loved how all the characters looked so cute and adorable, the songs were... "fantastic" would be too mundane a word to describe them, while they might not be quite "catchy", as some critics claim, they are absolutely wonderful, beautiful and make you feel all "warm and fuzzy inside" . It will be days before I get tired of listening to them without end. [ I even listened to the one, where they all help each-other fix the room, while assembling some furniture -> both inspiring and invigorating ] I can not say anything but praise for this movie. I must say I was expecting many frequenters of this forum would not like it, and I am very glad I was wrong.
  18. Well, thank you for your kind words! I also am hopeful they will be used to brighten someone's day. In my opinion, they need not always have a reason to be given, but should instead be gifted simply for the sake of the gifting. As it is said, should this creation of mine make but one person smile, but one individual feel joy, but one soul feel loved... then it has served its purpose. That is all I can ask.
  19. Hello, Some back-story: First and foremost, it is my desire to inform you that these are a series of "greeting cards", I place them here to be viewed and used freely by anyone for any purposes. Generally, I created them to be given to a friend who is feeling "a little blue", "under the weather" or simply sad, in order to brighten their day even the tiniest little bit. There are two types of cards, the first type emphasise the pony they are named after and are meant to be given to people simply for amusement and out of good feelings. The second type put emphasis on the text message and are, therefore, meant to be given to people facing difficulties, in order to cheer them up. In short: Give the cards with the big ponies to people for the "lulz" and give the cards with text to make people feel better about themselves. I would advise printing them on A4 paper, using the "Borderless Printing" option found on most printers (this is an option that forbids the printer from making white borders on the edges of the page), connecting them together and presenting to designated person of interest. Each serie of cards has been archived and attached to this post for ease of download. Refer to the file names for information on which particular serie it contains. Along with these cards I have made a Powerpoint presentation. The presentation is too massive in file size to be attached to this post, hence I shall provide a link, sharing it from my Dropbox. This presentation is a (.pptx) file and can only be opened by versions of Microsoft Office 2010 and newer. Pinkie Pie.pptx There is a (.ppt) file, attached to this post, which has been created for compatibility with older versions of the Microsoft Office package and, unfortunately, lack a couple of features. I advice you to utilise the (.pptx) file, if able. How to operate the presentation? In order to view the presentation you need to open the file and either press "F5" or use the command "Start Presentation" or what-not. The presentation is self-advancing, this means it needs no input from you for it to move forward and mouse clicking will not have much of an effect. Should you desire to expedite its proceedings the "Space bar" is the key to your problem. You should know I have not created a single graphic, I have made the cards and presentation, however all the images, found inside, I have taken from the Internet. It is also my utmost desire to thank the following people, for helping me bring about this project. A HUGE gratitude to Rosen "S0vereign" Georgiev (????? "S0vereign" ????????), the aforementioned designer and dear friend. And Funky-kun, for helping me with some audio issues. 20. Well, I have now added a Fluttershy "greeting card" to go along with the, relatively new, Rainbow Dash one. I must say I do not like posting updates in my own thread like this, however I could not think of a better way. That being said you may expect a Derpy card to be added in the near future, this time, though, you will have to just come back and check the thread on your own. ;P
  21. I wish to clarify something, as it seems I did not express myself properly. I did not think that you had a problem with it and I am happy to listen to constructive criticism, I simply thought it did not appeal to you, which was ok in any case, I was simply making a "sad" I know now that you like it, and I am making a "happy".
  22. I like that, I shall definitely draw inspiration from it. Well, I am glad it is sort of in working order... however I gather from your enthusiasm that it is not that good? :/
  23. Thank you all for the kind words! If you really like the Pinkie Pie card, I would suggest reviewing the associated PowerPoint presentation. On that notion, I would really, really, REALLY appreciate it if someone can tell me if the *.ppt file works at all and more importantly if music is played in the *.pptx one. :/ I'm pretty sure there is a tiny piece of my life in that presentation and I desire to know if all goes well. XD
  24. Forgot to fix something... Just for that, I am going to give some serious thought to the Luna card! XD Although I would like to point out these "greeting" cards (for lack of a better term) are more of the type "I give you this, to show you what a good friend you are to me". This was, at least, my intention, but of course anyone can use them as they see fit. I could also release their Photoshop files, so that everyone can edit them into whatever they want, should someone so desire. P.S. Are not many of the people, who work on "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic", open to communication with fans of the show, through the Book of Faces, Chirp and similar? Why not suggest the idea to them?
