The internet in Greenland is slow and expensive. That is why my family only just got internet set up now, after 1.5 months of living here. We pay what would be around 210 in US $ for 2mbit flatrate. But it's better than nothing.

Well it's slow, but thats because the goverment set up a policy to ensure that no-one should have better chances than anyone else. To make sure it's fair and everything. But the thing is, all those small villages (they're not actually villages, they're smaller than that) use old equipment, and that means they pull everyone down. If not for that, we could pay the same for about 10 mbit.

Figures. I just thought they would warn people first or something.

Do keep in mind that we're entirely volunteer-run; the entirety of our operations is dependent on unpaid volunteer time. Scheduling volunteers to be "on the job" at specific hours is vastly different from scheduling paid employees to do X at Y time (which would allow a maintenance window to be planned and announced well ahead of time). All things considered, I had a "now-or-never" opportunity to do this morning's tech work, so I went for it and am glad it's done now.

Sorry if you missed a bit of your daily dose of MLPF. I know this place is really special to an awful lot of people, and I wouldn't intentionally take things offline if there was nothing to be gained from it. I expect the community will appreciate the results. ;-)

I've viewed assignments/work positively for a while, but hadn't totally channel my mental energies towards it. Been many years in the making, but I'm enjoying life more than ever. Interacting with others, expanding interests, and just all the other "little things" take on such new meaning. Not too sure what you mean by working on things for us though? :3

Do you have anything you need help with, or basically anything I can do for you? Because I'm bored out of my mind, and need to put my mind to good use. I'm basically willing to 'work' for free. It doesn't mean it has to be actual work, just give me something that can occupy my mind, and allow me to think of solutions and strategies. I need to do SOMETHING, otherwise I feel like I'll wither away and die.

Ah! A suggestion of sorts. These are also short-term though ' My main recommendation is to soul-search. Kept me occupied (and still a good bit) for 6+ years....craziest years of my life, but shaped me immensely. You've got a great grasp on a number of things, but can find plenty of direction from it- likely for the long-term.

I'm one day behind, and I've already turned in a document with half of it corrected. I can edit the rest of it in about 20 min. and the author haven't fixed the errors I pointed out yet. Also, the authors won't let me spend this much time on it either xD
