      ...that was exactly the opposite of what I meant. >.> Relationship good. Formal institution and government intervention in marriage bad. For straights and gays. I do agree that if one group gets it, all others should too, but I think a change in society would be better.

      Fair enough-I'm coming from a different perspective being a Christian anyhow. I don't think that marriage should be a requirement for everyone in order to be recognized as a couple and receive the benefits as such-but I also think there are many who treasure it as a symbol of their commitment to each other, and as such it shouldn't be abolished.
