Some of the rules for Trivia Trot are just plain stupid. The whole rule book is just a blatant plot device that the writers can use it to get the characters out of a sticky situation.
In defense of the rule book, I think it was largely there to be absurd to begin with. If anything the trivia rulebook is designed to highlight and exacerbate Twilight’s traits and flaws. It’s an extension of Twilight’s character in hard copy form.
