The 2010s provided each a couple o' good examples of how to reboot a series well and the opposite.
Good:
- FIM: Took a struggling to dying franchise with a recently misogynistic, wasted history of treating young girls like commodities, brought it back to the family-friendly roots of MLP G1 and My Pretty Pony, and turned it into the most memorable generation that never truly wavered in quality.
- DuckTales '17: The original DT was a brave step forward in animation against the toyetic attachments in the 1980s. Widely considered Disney's greatest TV animated series, DT '17 delivered by improving upon the original's weaknesses, standing out on its own with overarching arcs that constantly change the status quo, and deliver loads of heart.
Bad:
- TTG!: Uh, do I even need to explain? Took a really memorable series of heart in TT, replaced it with a show with a really soulless streak and massive ego. At least the movie's decent.
- PPG '16: This soft reboot tries to do too much, yet more often than not, it shows a massive lack of direction and a massive inability to understand what made the original PPG so memorable.

I only know/remember two things about 13 Ghosts:
- Vincent Price played a character.
- There was a kid that seemed like a Scrappy-Doo clone.

I think you're referring to Flim-Flam, who got a much needed growth spurt in one of the recent made-to-home films.
