When you look at the top brohoofed posts, you see mod posts, a decently attractive female user getting engaged, someone giving the site a fuckload of money, or a well timed meme. Much of the brohoof power goes to "popularity." It is not wise to put stock in them as a measure of how good your post is.

Repetition is to be expected in a series. If Mario suddenly had wisecracks, guns and a grappling hook, it wouldn't be a Mario game anymore. If LoZ wasn't about exploring dungeons, finding items to beat other dungeons and eventually saving Hyrule/Koholint/Termina, it wouldn't be a LoZ game.

This is another situation where balance is key. No, you shouldn't just be releasing patches disguised as games (looking at you, CoD), but nor should you be required to reinvent the fucking wheel every time you want to put a game out there.
