Perhaps we are not really designed to be happy, only to seek happiness.

Some might possess happiness and others might not, I can't speak for anyone else's happiness. I just think that for the most part it's a a largely transient state of mind, not a permanent condition. I don't really think it should be anyway, life would be boring if my experience was limited to one emotion.

I'd like a second opinion on something---I've talked about this in a few other posts and statuses, but I'm wondering whether Zephyr's behavior really adds up: the episode intended for the root of his problem to be a lack of confidence, but the symptoms of that were: laziness, manipulation of others, and apathy. Can a lack of self-confidence really have those symptoms?
-
I believe low self-confidence can contribute to a person being apathetic and lazy but usually isn't the only factor. His reluctance to change as well as the effort he put into pressuring and deceiving others actually suggests some confidence on his part in getting what he wants in the end. He formed a behavioral pattern based on self-aggrandizement and self-sabotage while leaving others to pick him up when he inevitably fell. It's very indicative of a narcissistic personality.
-
I see what you mean.
Plus, I realized after I made these posts that, if someone is going to be lazy, then they also need to be manipulative, because if they don't manipulate someone else into doing it for them, then either (a) they need to get off their lazy gluteous maximus and do it themselves, or ( it won't get done. So...it's very plausible, disturbing though it is...!

The Number 23... is a terrible movie.

Sorry---I was half-agreeing with your point that politics is male-dominated. And when you put it like you just did ("effectively male-dominated"), I totally agree---the only point I disagree with is...is...
...Is a point you didn't really make, now that I think about it. Said point was that there are barriers to entry into politics for women, but that's not what you said at all. /embarrassed
As for Equestria being female-dominated---if what we've s...

I would say that there are still some barriers to entry into politics for women, as well as most minorities, but that these barriers are mostly cultural beliefs and subtle, often subconscious prejudices in society rather than institutionalized rules or policies. Most people still fundamentally believe that men(in the case of Western society straight white men usually Christian or Jewish) make stronger and more dependable leaders over other groups of people, even if they're reluctant to ad...

I'm with Spaced Out Woona on this; remember Sonic the Hedgehog 2006? Rushed for the 2006 holiday season, panned as one of the worst Sonic games of all time. Compare that to Super Mario Galaxy, which came out in 2007, wasn't rushed, and was lauded as one of the most revolutionary platformers of all time---yeah, quality over speed is a good rule.

Oh, would that I could brohoof replies on status updates...!
Rule #25 on the list of things Hasbro won't let a brony do when making an MLP:FiM game:
25) Bringing back the Smooze from G-1 as a boss is okay. Defeating him by packing him into a magical steamer trunk is also okay. Having someone ask "What'cha gonna do with all that gunk? All that gunk inside your trunk?" is not okay.

Trying to post on this forum using a smartphone is truly arduous. Relatively speaking that is.

I'm getting really tired of seeing that stupid, deranged grin up top.

I'm a CM punk.

Can't find any interesting forums...
-
Could be worse: could be forums full of hot-button issues you feel strongly about where people take offense no matter how gently or assertively you try to disagree!
Maybe there are some good fanvideos or interesting fan-projects to read up about? I know sometimes projects, like mine, have a lot of time between posts when any information is released...I mean, it's been weeks since I posted anything about my Weather Factory Meltdown game-project, but that doesn't mean I...

It's good to be back. Things have gotten kind of dull around here if you ask me. I want to see if I can liven things up a bit.
