I would say that there are still some barriers to entry into politics for women, as well as most minorities, but that these barriers are mostly cultural beliefs and subtle, often subconscious prejudices in society rather than institutionalized rules or policies. Most people still fundamentally believe that men(in the case of Western society straight white men usually Christian or Jewish) make stronger and more dependable leaders over other groups of people, even if they're reluctant to ad...

...admit it. The problem with prejudices like these is that they can't simply be repealed with a law or fixed by some change in policy. You can't realistically legislate on personal beliefs or opinions, at least not without approaching a state of repression and totalitarianism.

As for Equestria?

TBH, I think Celestia is pretty good at her job. To say she never makes mistakes is obviously untrue, I'll admit that.

I think what's really going on is that we viewers don't get to see all the things Celestia does that makes her fit for her job---my expectation is that she gets a lot of things done offscreen that, if we saw them, would put debates like this to rest.

I'm with Spaced Out Woona on this; remember Sonic the Hedgehog 2006? Rushed for the 2006 holiday season, panned as one of the worst Sonic games of all time. Compare that to Super Mario Galaxy, which came out in 2007, wasn't rushed, and was lauded as one of the most revolutionary platformers of all time---yeah, quality over speed is a good rule.

Those examples carry no weight with me.

I'm not referring to any recent personal experience just a general outlook I possess. I agree that ignoring trolls and haters is typically best but even this requires resilience to some degree.

I'm not sure, but I think it's more of a choice. Hatred is a very common aspect of the human experience though.

Some might possess happiness and others might not, I can't speak for anyone else's happiness. I just think that for the most part it's a a largely transient state of mind, not a permanent condition. I don't really think it should be anyway, life would be boring if my experience was limited to one emotion.
