Why did Rainbow race with Pinkie and not AJ? These two aren't even rivals

My biggest huh head scratch was wondering if this would happen anywhere at any time or just in this area due to the name?

Like whenever ponies lose hope do they just lose all color, or is it because of how this town looks and operates that this happened? This will likely never be explained

I got annoyed a bit by the welder pony being the 'only one who could do this' or something like that, but then I liked her eventually. 

I don't hate the animation style, but it was a bit off putting since I hadn't seen the movie style in a while

Voices were alright, songs were great

She's gonna be traumatized further. I may have traumatized my Twi loving self as well. I feel bad

I've entered the Twilight Zone

The Twilight Sparkle Convention has come to Ponyville, and as the President of her Fan Club I've been invited to give a speech. Everywhere I look are ponies and creatures in cosplay as the princess. I look down at myself and I'm in cosplay too. When did this happen?

Cakes, streamers, Twilight is Best Pony banners. The town has been basically colored lavender for the occasion. Souvenirs and toys all bearing her face, her Mark, or even her head

Replica of all the artifacts that were used to save the world are being sold as toys. Statues of her are everywhere.

Ponies and creatures are celebrating, singing songs, and praising. There are panels on her life, her friends, and her achievements 

I enter the town proper with my sister and the music skips a beat for a moment. Did that happen? Hmmm

As I'm heading over to give my speech, I hear indistinct whispering. Someone is snickering. What's going on?

Mayor Mare welcomes me to the podium with a leer. Something is seriously wrong. I start to feel self conscious and anxious. My sister has disappeared

As I get up on the podium, I suddenly realized I couldn't remember my speech. I'd practiced it for hours right? What's going on?

"You failed her." very faint, someone said this

"You weren't there." louder this time

"A business trip? How dare you......." I can hear it now

"Love her? You don't even respect her." someone actually yells this

A fluttering of wings as a lavender Alicorn lands in front of me. Somehow I know this is not a cosplay. I can see right through her. Do ghosts make fluttering sounds? Can the others see her?

"You have failed me. You don't deserve to be here." Twi says this in a low voice, completely unlike her

"Boo! You heard the Princess! Run her out of town!" a stallion voice yells this as all the towns ponies and creatures suddenly all turn their faces at me and repeat to run me out of town. They can see and hear the ghost

The fun atmosphere has turned into a twisted landscape of everything being ruined, mangled, and cut up. What's going on? Who's doing this?

This was too good to be true. Too perfect. I try to fly away, but Sparky malfunctions. He's turned into Spike who breathes fire at me and burns my tail.

"Whats going on......" I whimper and try to fight back, but these are all ponies I know, not acting like themselves

Everywhere I go, the crowd in costume follows me, trying to run me out of town or even kill me, tossing random garbage and rotten tomatoes at me. The real ghost of Twilight is at the lead. My magic doesn't work, someone is using a piece of the throne of Chrysalis to negate it

"Nnngh. N-N-n-no! Twilight! I didn't know! I didn't know ok?! Please forgive me! I wasn't there!" I whimpered as I reached out in my sleep to cuddle my statue but couldn't get out of the dream, didn't realize it's not real, couldn't wake up........

I had reformed from the three clones, nodding as Cosmodian spoke. "My student and I shall not fail. This time it will be different. No direct attacks, no armies. This time we shall use my plan. Deception." And most importantly, no one would be hurt. It would not be permanent anyway. Probably. Either way I needed to have some fun

We returned to the main room as I prepared to lay out the plan. 

I turned to Sombra, laying out my plan as I projected a map with my magic, showing some finer points with my right fore hoof

"I will first turn into mist to infiltrate the guards and find out their patterns. I will temporarily replace the commander while Shining Armor isn't looking. I will then order them to divert from their routes, creating an opening." I cackled as I showed the guards leaving their posts and moving to another part of the Empire

"You will also turn into mist, hide in the shadows, and sneak across the streets. Make sure no one sees you even in your mist form. Once you get into the throne room through the empty halls, you will take over." I showed the path on the map for Sombra

Easily. What, jealous that I'm a better you than you? Better at being you than you?

I just never thought you had it in you. I'm willing to admit you're not as weak and pathetic as I originally thought you were.

I'm still you, a better you. I'm just having some fun and although I know my plan will work, I don't believe Sombra will be in power forever. This also removes him as a threat for the foreseeable future.

He wants the Crystal Empire. He won't stop trying. If he conquers it and the sisters negotiate well, there will still be peace

Better than being dead, and he will eventually be defeated. I just feel bad I won't be teaching him much, but it's nice to actually have his respect. I could teach him much more if I had more time, but he's too focused

And if he won't be defeated?

Then I will have yet another scar on my conscience. Either way I'll have some fun watching and helping, and the bad guys will still be in my corner. Maybe they'll learn friendship and become friends, but I'm not counting on it

Well I can't believe I'm saying this, but I actually approve of the plan. It's elegant and achieves the goal. I would have wanted more bloodshed and less friendship, but I'll take it

My mouth moved into a wide evil grin, playing my part. "Before we head out, I will need to go eat. I need to find something or someone to cocoon and bring back, as well. Make your own preparations and meet me on roof of the temple in an hour. We fly out then."

"Any questions?" I looked around at Cosmodian and Sombra, wondering what Cosmodian planned to do while we were gone

BUT ! ! -> The TITLE of this thread includes "The Military" (implicitly also opening the way for other third parties too):

. Wallflower with the Memory Stone [you could also include "The Sorceress" Clover was chasing (or descendants)].

. The pony who brought the timeloop device from Equestria (before losing it and/or dying at that water stream).

. Any plausible "random Equestrian Magic Burst" giving someone a "boost" from "local background human" to hero/ine.

And we are taking into account other characters, possibly OC? This sounds like a great idea for a RP actually, but I'll treat it as a what if for now

My character has been building and inventing, and is a teacher at the school. I haven't built a complete character profile yet for the human version, but she would be in a position to contribute her firepower and inventory of inventions

I read that. Still feel like it's doomed, for the points already made by you and the opening post

If this all happens at once and the villains all have their powers still, human world is doomed.......

I remember when she used that spell on Sven Gallop. I can see him making VR games with his magic like Sword Art Online, but in his own magic and style. Even games like Duck Hunt in his own magic projection would be interesting.

I hadn't thought of that. Yup doing a Twilight zone comment. Seems obligatory at this point 

Do keep in mind that RL games don't exist in Equestria, especially if it's higher graphics. You'd have to use 8 bit 60s or 70s arcades like Invaders and really retro old school Mario. Duck Hunt fits the graphical time line though. But of course make it pony style

And yea sorry I forgot to answer that. It has windows but they are slightly out of phase. The hut is larger on the inside than on the outside. Not nearly as much as a Tardis though, but maybe a couple of extra rooms that don't seem like they would fit in that space. He can note that it feels larger if he wants to. You will see more windows on the inside than you would have seen from the outside. Anyway there are windows one can see out from, but Lektra needs to open the metallic shades for light to really shine. Remember she's a metal bender. She made the house convenient for herself. It's easier for her to manipulate mental than use telekinesis in some cases, but it's not quite as convenient for visitors. He can try to open up the shades, but he may be confused how they work lol

I was thinking a Twilight convention, but it goes very very sour and she wakes up screaming. Nightmare 

I imagine VR is one spell, or a technique that can be used different ways. Remember the time Twilight created a projection screen to expose Sven Gallop? Dynamo could do something similar, but make it his own. It could work two ways. He makes things he is thinking of from arcades he's played. As an illusion that is not real, or as a magical construct projected from imagination where it is real for as long as he wants it to be. Both?

Oh I haven't seen Rainbow Road Trip yet, so can't comment 🤷🏻‍♀️

I never thought about unicorns making VR when it comes to playing games. Now that I think about that, it opens up a lot of possibilities for playing games, haha. Who needs a VR headset when you can use magic. That's also true when it comes to Discord.

Well yeah, magic VR. I feel like that should be the first spell he learns to do. Maybe Lektra upgrades the arcade with VR Magitek once she visits? We can assume she's never been there, for convenience purposes. Not right away though. I feel like obtaining permits and permission from the owner would be involved?

@Emerald<3would Cocoa leave for work with Speed? Speed is a filly who loves to show off. She got her Cutie Mark early and it's in being fast, as well as making other things fast/slow. She speeds up her running speed and ferries others around with teleportation

I think that would be cool if Lektra stopped by the arcade. Maybe some of the arcade machines were invented for the arcade. Giving said building a retro, but more of a modern feel to it. I would say it's that stage, but I remember seeing Button play on an arcade machine in the episode, 'Hearts and Hooves Day.'

Hmm...maybe Dynamo goes to check up on Lektra as maybe she has a nightmare? Maybe in the nightmare, she's with Twilight, but was unable to stop whatever took Twi and the others away? Not too sure as I can only think of maybe something like a nightmare would wake her up.

I expect the arcade machines are similar to real life 8 bit games. Anything else is not really necessary, since unicorns can make VR. Why play a game with an arcade controller when you can magically enter the game or project it into your living room? Also Discord and his tabletop game being real whenever he wants. Magic *jazz hands*

Nightmare sounds ok. Want me to initiate that?

Epicenter of games? News to me lol. As far as Lektra is aware, Ponyville is the center of all weirdness since all the stuff had been happening to the Mane 6 there

Getting together at the arcade sometime makes sense. I can also see Lektra eventually rebuilding the arcade machines entirely, as she usually does. She sees existing tech as inferior to Magitek. Better graphics, more realistic. Probably take them from 8 bit to 32, and add longer games. Ponies aren't at the home console or PC game stage yet, unfortunately 🤷🏻‍♀️

It's unnecessary, since we can make VR with magic. Why play a game when you can magically enter it?

Better question though, what would we do now that she would have a reason to wake up earlier?

Come to think about it, I haven't seen the 🤷🏻‍♀️ (shrug) reaction in a while

Yeah I understand. I'm also a night owl due to how reset works in the mobile games I play. One resets at 3am my time (midnight pacific) and one resets at 5am my time (2am pacific). Also I'm just naturally a night owl 

Maybe they get called together cause Starlight tells them about her visit from Luna? The problem is that it's too early for this and no pony actually knows who the new elements are yet, including themselves 🤔

I mean he could wake Lektra up at like 6 or 8 if you have an idea of something they'd do together, but expect her to be cranky due to body clock saying it's too early 

Do you think he'd like a job and a place to live? Kinda defeats the purpose of taking over a house from his other friend, but it might facilitate learning some magic if he accepts. Then again also kinda not cause Lektra doesn't actually actively cast/do magic like other Unicorn ponies. The machines she makes have magical properties

You can read how I've implemented Bolt Solutions Magitek in Equestria by reading her character profile. It's really only a couple of spells she knows, and one being cast repeatedly

Well I was thinking Cocoa has to go to work in the morning, so she leaves with Speed who's job is to mind Lektra's shop at Ponyville market?

Lektra is sleeping on the living room couch cuddled with her metallic plush of Twi. She is constantly sobbing and sniffling in her sleep. This behavior is normal for her since 4 years ago that Twi passed away

Dynamo wakes up early? Or he waits until she wakes up on her own and watches her sleep, the creep?  Sparky wakes her up? She's gonna sleep a while if not woken up

He could let her sleep and instead activate Sparky and hang out with him, who's in sleep mode somewhere arbitrary in the hut

Lektra will otherwise wake up on her own later and work from the cafe until her therapy session with Starlight in the evening

BTW Lektra will probably offer Dynamo a job and to stay in the guest room permanently, or until he wants to stop living there 

I expect him to decline both, but there's always surprises since he does like arcade machines and she might have some, or can rebuild some 🤷🏻‍♀️

1. Lektra is a midday sleeper (earliest 11am), or has to be woken up by Sparky. Consider this a hint if you want her up early. She didn't lock anyone in on purpose because of this, since some have work early in the morning. Cafe opens early in the morning right, and Cocoa has work? Dynamo implied he was going to wait for Lektra cause he doesn't have a job yet, and Speed is a available to take anyone who needs it back to town

2. You haven't posted either. I was waiting for you both to post at the very least. Sorry for the confusion 😢

3. I technically have posted already. Chrissy and Sombra were up at dawn and had an epic sparring match. Everyone should read that, Cali and I worked hard writing it on Discord 😉

Is there any way to make a shrugging pony emote? Any pony will do, just raising his/her fore hooves or fore shoulders? I admit this is out of the ordinary since so far its been all faces, but I wonder if there's a way to express a shrug?

She also talked about tacos in this film and wore it on her clothes, but I never got a taco obcessed vibe from her 🤷🏻‍♀️

I really can't relate to Pinkie being annoying comments, I felt sad for her even though she had no idea that Sunset had lived the day at least 21 times and was frustrated. Pinkie isn't my favorite, but I never feel any of the Manes ruin an episode

I liked the villains being the band and I had started to guess this at the midpoint, and especially that the Dazzligs weren't reformed. They're making the best of their predicament

The only thing I never understood was the taco obcession and where it came from, but it didn't detract from the movie for me

Loved it! Everyone was in character!
