I really felt like a coffee right now, as I didn't feel motivated or relaxed enough to get these orders done. Most of them were maintenence or questions, and rightfully easy to fill

Not at all serious, I give him a frown as I was trying to to be sarcastic. "I beg your pardon sir, my hut is plenty peaceful, when I and ponies I meet aren't having a horrendous dream together."
Sparky looked at me like 'too soon' and I shrugged. "What, I have to try to get over that somehow."
I tried to brighten up though. "Sorry about that. It's nice to actually like for real meet you and you were in fact extremely helpful, all of you were." I sighed. "I'm Lektra Bolt and I run Bolt Solutions here in Ponyville. We're originally from Manehattan. I was born and grew up there, and you might notice my accent a bit. Or a fair bit." I shrugged. "Our slogan is inventive magical solutions to improve everyone's lives. I'm an enchanter and I work with metallic substances. I've been called the Mistress of Metal." I really tried to smile when meeting a new friend, but it usually came out as a half smile, given that I've been extremely depressed lately.

My ears piped up when I heard about drinking. "Cider, or coffee? Both? Both is good too. I mean cider is okay, but I've basically been inhaling coffee lately. I'm quite partial to it, and sweets."

"Yeah the dream was pretty good, you know, after it stopped being a nightmare." I sighed, trying to put that part out of my mind. "My love will always be in my heart, and she won't ever be forgotten, but I at least have my happy place where she can be alive." I felt my face get hot and checked for tears, yup I wiped my face with a fore hoof.
"As for time passing, that's because of the nightmare portion. That was still basically a regular dream, even though for you guys it was a waking dream." I blinked my eyes and shook my head, really trying to just put the time in the nightmare and what was said by my projection out of thought.

A couple of moments later the filly who looked like me in miniature appeared in front of us with a pop and a crackle. 'Goingtotownfinallysis?"
I nodded, wondering how much work I'd missed.
"Holdontoyourlunch!" She pressed us together around her with a light telekinetic grip, and I had just enough time to lock the door from the inside with my own telekinesis as she, myself, Sparky, and my two friends vanished with another pop and a crackle

We appeared at the cafe, near my usual table with a pop and a crackle.
"Ok, byeeeeeeee." Speed Bolt disappeared the same way she came in, leaving a stack of work orders for me on the table and a burn mark on the floor.
I sighed as I sat down, wondering how long it would take for anyone to notice our sudden entry. The other patrons didn't seem to be bothered

A few questions about what's in the bio - would she still be a company heiress? What level of personal technology would she use? Emotional processing units and similar seem ill-fitting to the setting, but did you have any other original ideas for types of technology she might dabble in?
Oh, my mistake, I thought you meant actual lightning powers on top of the aforementioned electrical abilities. Generation of electricity is quite all right, along of course with the abilities to manipulate it, charge objects to manipulate and so on, although 'solidifying' electricity into objects seems a bit beyond the scope of the power - force projection or telekinesis seems more that way inclined.
Teacher status is fine and dandy, too, but could I get all this compactified into a character application? The template is at the bottom of the first post in this thread, just for easy reference and to make sure I haven't rolled any nat 1 perception checks.
I'm going to be away from the internet for the next two days starting late tomorrow, but I intend to post as soon as I get back - looking forward to it, in fact. I would have done it today but my packing for the weekend took much longer than expected.
Funny thing I discovered, you can see signatures on mobile if you turn your device sideways, and yea it's the right profile

She would use personal technology that is a bit more advanced than what we have IRL (due to the magical element making it work better than it does for us), since she tends to try to look inconspicuous to regular humans most of the time. I've actually described the tech she uses in the EG version, so we'll kinda meld the two in a way I guess if you want to take a look. That's what tends to happen when I convert to a non pony RP that is also non EG. Parts of the pony make it into the human and the reverse is also true

Don't actually think of it as mostly original technology. Think of it as Magitek being magical implementations of IRL or sci-fi technology, then it makes sense as to why things are called what they are. They don't exist in Equestria, so I have to create them. So we could also just nix that as well, since that's in pony version and pony version only, for a world that doesn't already have it implemented. Since it's implemented we could go with another idea, below
What if she doesn't necessarily make original technology per se, but prefers to enchant what already exists? She will build her own high powered CPU for example, enchant it to be even more powerful, and then use it. So all her stuff is self made and self enchanted, but its not new technology in the sense that most of it would probably already exist
Her business is actually largely 'mods', even in the pony version, where she makes things work better by adding enchantments to it. There is very little actual original technology, and what I've already described is pretty much all she has on her person. Everything else I'll probably make up as I go, if that's OK with you
I'll fill in an actual form soon, and we'll decide on a history to see if she's gonna be a company heiress in this or not

I was actually one of the first forum users to not only convert to the new system after almost a complete deletion by the staff of an important section, but overhaul and refine from a paper backup. I keep my main character as my namesake linked to in my signature, but of course you can also check my profile content. Should have no problem finding the right one

That was probably a poor choice of words? I mean along the lines of AC, so it could still kill if misused, but not make holes in things or people
The idea is a magical combination of Static, a not unfair for RP Magneto, and fairly standard technology manipulation granted by a having combination of both of these. If one has power of electrical and magnetism, one can manipulate and affect regular modern electronic technology
The electricity would be used to charge an object for manipulation like Static does or just solidify the electricity into a solid object like a spear, ball, or chains
I then add enchanting as applied to technology to make it magical because I enjoy the science, and engineering because before I add the electronic components and enchantment, the mechanical components must work properly as well. So there's a fair bit of Gear in here as well in practical form
Of course we're pretty much agreed this is too much for a student

The RP is picking back up after a period of slowness (although pending a possible timeskip, I believe) and Ley is still as active as any of the old-timers, as others have mentioned.
As for the power assignment, it depends on what you mean by 'magical technology'. If she has electromagnetic powers, she would be able to manipulate electricity flows and magnetic metals as a matter of course, which together constitute the vast majority of what we call technology these days. Magitek as a power is somewhat ill-defined in the scope of this RP thus far, however, and was in fact added to the list to accommodate a single user who eventually dropped out of the RP due to not finding what they wanted here.
I believe that their version of the power primarily consisted of creating objects that could use magic in and of themselves in a sense somewhat beyond mere enchantment - in short, creating objects that could independently use forms of magic that the creator themselves could not use. For example, if one wanted to have an object whose workings implemented the manipulation of fire, one could imbue it with a fire enchantment that simply made it deflect fire or spark up fires or some limited-scope ability to do with fire, or one could go full Magitek on it and make it control fire however you wanted it to. On the latter I imposed the constraint that actual blood from a fire mage would have to be used to power the object, since otherwise the user's character would have been more of a Mary Sue than any character in the RP would have been able to handle (although with the corollary canon that Salem University has an official small-scale blood-donation system to provide some means of supply for Magitek users). It's quite possible for people to work with magical technology without Magitek powers, however - my character works with such tech as more of an enchanting type, even one who focusses on the theory of runes over their application.

To understand how I've implemented Magitek, you'd have to read how I've explained and defined it for Equestria setting. It's all outlined in the profile and I'll work with you to make it viable here
Beyond just saying 'please go read it' the basic implementation is very different from that player
Magitek as a whole is very broad in its implementation. At its most basic, it is defined as a branch of enchanting and giving an object a property to do what it can't normally do.
A Magitek object in a non pony setting is a combination of technology and magic. Magic is applied to the technology to improve it's function, such as a simple boosting spell enchanted to a CPU to make it faster
The more complicated ones are built with technology and magic melding in mind, and allows an object to be better than if just the individual things were used separately. For example a rake will not clean your leaves away, but a rake enchanted to will
Magitek as my character implements it is not a new form of magic, but a branch of enchanting by applying and converting an existing spell to enhance a machine
While I admit it would share some properties with the earlier player, namely the object will gain properties that the caster can't do themselves, it's not as limited and basic as that player and actually closer to your character
Once enchanted, the object doesn't need the practitioner anymore, except for maintenance and repair. Anyone can use it
So as I'd like to do it, she has electromagnetism (this alows for lightning generation and control, magnetism, as well as electronic technology manipulation as one power) and is an enchanter specializing in magical engineering and design. She would be teaching this to students with similar inclinations

Ley was my go to character with maxed out gear due to me winning the event in game and getting 1st prize. I loved her teleports and her gameplay in general.

Idea one seems fine. I adapted Ley from GC and a few other ideas from that game to RP, though having it exist in RP world would be odd, unless we simply assume Ley never heard of it and it's a pure, insane coincidence.
The second one causes an issue: We'd have two similar characters and while them interacting would be silly, others would suffer in the process as technically the two would be the same.
Very serious actually. I didn't play the original game for very long unfortunately, and quit when my friend quit. It was very early on and Amy was the last release when we quit playing. Though I kept up on it, I haven't touched private servers, but I'm very active in the mobile game. I'm not like one of the most powerful players, but I'm as good as I possibly can be on the Global NA server without spending money and playing daily. She is one of my most used characters, I try to include her in whatever I do, and I'm looking forward to her limit break ♥️
I guess we could do option 1 as an insane coincidence, if you don't think the idea is way too dumb. That's what I'd intended to do. I'd be like did you know you kinda exist in this game? *shows her Magitek device showing Grand Chase on mobile*

Well I had this fun idea. Two actually, depending on which Duality and you liked
Was hoping you were still active with Ley
Idea 1: Whatever character I am has actually played Grand Chase in this world and it exists, and would like to be friends with Ley cause she reminds her of the Grand Chase character. Shenanigans ensure from this, and we'll just see where it goes
Idea 2: An actual Ley directly from the game gets pulled into this world, and in the process this Ley and your character would bond over being so similar. This also leads to random shenanigans. Pending GM approval and your liking of the idea, of course

You can tell I really like Ley? She's my favorite character from the game, so it's actually pretty awesome you were able to bring her in here

I'm thinking just fold those together into one electromagnetism since we're not bound by pony canon, which then also allows technology manipulation. Or would that have to stay separate?
Then she uses her craft to build magical technology.
So what is that? Multi power teacher, since building magical technology (Magitek) also counts as a power?
How would we do this? If it says separate I count 3 magics and 1 technique utilizing said magics

I just barely saw Cocoa for a moment in a groggy state as she left. I tried to speak as quickly as possible, but not as quick as my sister and it was probably in futility anyway. "Sparky says only a couple of hours have passed since you all entered my dream. It's still morning. I guess we could get on with our day? I could have Sparky call my sister to take us back to town rather than walking or flying."
That reminded me of something.....
The Pegasus still hadn't woken up. I poked him with a hoof, trying help him wake up. "Hey are you okay? What's your name again? We haven't been formally introduced yet. Also did I actually leave my door unlocked? How did you get in?"

We had spent a couple of additional hours just wandering around going to panels and listening to speakers talk about Twilight. There was also merchandise being sold, but as this was a dream and we couldn't take it with us anyway, I didn't think it was a good idea to purchase anything. The Twilight and Spike that was in my dream just kinda wandered around with us for moral support. No one in the dream town thought it all that weird that she seemed to be fine when she's supposed to be not alive. I mean it's my dream, and my subconscious created everyone else in town except for my friends. Of course it would all seem normal to them, cause I made it so. Finally we ran out of things to do
We all gathered in the center of town, seemed like a good place as any. "Well, time to wake up. You all may feel some mild discomfort. I've never done this before, and usually my dreams aren't lucid that I have this level of control over them. So uh......."
I clapped my hooves together and lost my field of vision, only seeing a bright flash.

I woke up in my living room hugging my metallic Twilight Sparkle plushie. I stretched and yawned, hoping everyone else made the trip back alright as well. It was still early in the morning, like we didn't just spend at least six hours doing things

Guy's are we still planning on continuing? I'm not one to give up on an RP, so if we aren't going to continue and you all feel we are irreversibly stuck or have lost interest, please tell me so I don't keep trying in futility to get us back on track and out of the dream. Just needed in character confirmation from everyone to wake up, since I'm the last to post. Or should I make an edit that the dream ends just like that and we're out?
Am I the only one still interested in seeing this through, or what are we doing? Confused, sorry

Great idea! Okay yeah let's go with that, a time skip where we enjoyed the convention but we don't go into actual details, and then we wake up
Everyone just says let's enjoy the convention and then I wake us up in my next post saying we did, but short time skip through it

I chuckled dryly. "Looks like Dynamo agrees. I love sweets and candy as well, though I don't get a sugar rush or coffee rush. I've always attributed that to my being weird. It just helps me focus and get down to business, as I'm focused when relaxed. Just don't give me too much or I'll probably fall asleep, heh."

I pondered this for a moment. "Nah! I have too much work to do, but it can be an interesting diversion to make games once I obtain the correct license, huh?"
I shrugged, a bit conflicted on how to respond to this. "Well........." I mean he did open that can of worms

I usually lock the door and my security system is built with electric shocks as well as pointy spikes. Obviously it won't dissuade everyone and teleportation is a thing, but let's just say doing that again might be dangerous to your health." I gave a dry and deadpan smile, but also a bit of a nervous laugh.
(just the nervous laugh part is relevant)
"I say this as a suggestion now, for the benefit of you as, potentially, my new friend. I like my friends alive, not hurt, and healthy." I gave another nervous laugh and tried to smile afterwards. "That explanation is always awkward......."
I sighed and wondered when I could have some coffee. "So yeah, now that this awkwardness is out of the way, we are friends right?" I had a very nervous looking smile on my face, at least I felt like I did. I also felt hot in the face
Great, I threatened a very nice stallion with possible death or bodily harm by telling him my hut can actually be dangerous. Does he still want to be my friend? Did he ever? Did I misread his intentions? Did I over analyze and give too much information?
