Maybe he just changes his mind randomly and decides to come back as he sees Dynamo and Lektra going to the arcade? Would he do this? He seemed very upset that Cocoa didn't agree with how he handled the rude couple

It's been five years. What if we just use Button Mash from the show and he's running the place now? Don't need to create an NPC unless you really feel like it. He's probably around 20 something now 🤔

Basically here's the idea I had for the arcade:

Lektra is not banned, but she is not welcome there presently. As of now every time she's come in she just remarks about how archaic (comparable to to 8 bit IRL) the games are and how the huge machines are just unwieldy, but doesn't do anything about it. Whoever we decide would be the boss just got fed up with it, politely asked her to not come back, and just never realized that she doesn't run a charity. Someone has to actually commission Bolt Solutions to do it, and maybe Pinball was unaware of the option. So finally he gets contacted and gives the ok to do it?

I really had always wondered why MLP just doesn't use magic for video games, but Magitek can fix that. Maybe the comic is just that old? The comic was written way before the Rara episode where magic was used for pyrotechnics and Twilight projected a screen

Well Aerion has left to do um, what he wants to do. Maybe Dynamo comes back to finish coffee with her? They were having an interesting discussion about the possibility of games using illusions for VR, would it just be cut short like that?

I originally thought that he'd invite her to the arcade and find out exactly how not good she feels about the place, since it's so archaic in comparison to using magic for games. Maybe Pinball would commission a remodel into Magitek? Would he want to?

Seriously I have always wondered why the comic writer who created arcade machines in Equestria didn't just say ponies use magic for games. It just makes way more sense, but upgrading into Magitek is basically the same thing

@Dynamo Pad so basically the way the friends handled the rude patrons differently has soured the day for everyone? Is there no chance anymore to visit the arcade together?

Then I guess Lektra has nothing to do besides work all day, and then she has therapy with Starlight in the evening

Dynamo was always bullied for being kind, for the way his horn was curved, for having no cutie mark and for not being able to use any kind of magic. It's why he wants to take his friendships seriously and feels bad if he made his friends angry or upset. Since he'll be like that when the time comes for them to discover their elements in due time.

I agree with Justin earlier that it's not really about hating cars or anything like that. I just don't want to deal with the possibility of stupidity of other people. I may be the best driver in the world, but someone will come along who is either a stupid driver or stupid pedestrian. I'll either be in a disaster due to another car or a pedestrian

If I need to be in a car I'll order a ride service, taxi, car service, or have someone shuttle me. There are also busses in many places, which are technically large cars. I will never drive myself

That said, I did have plans to buy a micro car that seats 2 people. I just decided that I'd still rather not deal with the possibility of stupid people

If my eventual significant other has a car, I'll actually be pretty happy with that

Right, kinda like the manes. Still friends but there will be ups and downs. Lektra is sorry for overstepping her jurisdiction and embarrassing her friend by doing this, but she's not sorry for standing up for her friend and still believes that bullies need to be replied in kind.

Speed was pretty much incessantly bullied and she had to come in to help on a regular basis. It got so bad she had to threaten them with bodily harm every year, as the teachers never saw the bullying on school grounds. Flash Bolt was not good in his light magic studies yet to be able to help his sister

It always happened after or before, and never got bad enough on school grounds. Speed was eventually able to take care of herself, but Lektra never forgot how her sister was treated

She still believes if she has the means and ability to do so, those who are rude and mean need to be fought, not talked to. In previous RPs, some friends she's made were actually characters who were initially antagonistic, got defeated by her (it was a tournament), were shown mercy, and then mutual respect was earned later

What if they go to the arcade right now? Cocoa can't go, but Lektra is her own boss. She will take a large container of coffee to go

I also scratched my head about that first line. Was it about Dynamo or Aerion? Or the rude gentleman?

Also, guess we pretty much aren't all going to the arcade together huh? I had a thing I actually maybe wanted to do there

She said, all her words coming out calm, but very firm.

"This is my job, and you have no jurisdiction here whatsoever. I can handle myself, and I am very disappointed in you guys." She explained, sighing before walking back inside to continue her work.

They were welcome back? Really? Okay..... 

I felt like my face was burning to a crisp. I was so embarrassed. "I'm sorry. Really I am. You're right and this was uncalled for."

I had to tell this story and I hoped she would listen. "You see, my sister was bullied in school when she was younger. She's a teenager now, but when she was very little other foals made fun of her for the way she talked. She talks hyper quickly, and unless one has trained to listen to her and hear what she says, they can't understand her. No pony in school could understand her, and she was bullied basically constantly. The bullies did not leave her alone when talked to, and I had to come to her school often to handle them when our parents were busy. The only thing they responded to were threats and actions, so this is how I respond when someone is mean since those days. I really am sorry my friend, and I just hope I can get some of my usual order to calm down a little?"

I didn't want to trouble her though, so I went back and sat down, trying to get some work done

I lowered my ears to the sides of my head. "Aerion please, if you would be so kind as to lower your voice, that would be lovely."

I then moved a sharp fork behind the rude mare and poked her behind to make her get up and leave. It's just a fork, an extremely sharp and painful one, but still a simple fork. I would keep doing this until she was out of the vicinity. "Yes yes, just go and follow your boyfriend. If you decide to come back here you will treat everyone with respect, or Cocoa will probably ask her parents to make sure no pony here ever serves you again. Even if her parents didn't own this lovely establishment."

I would like to run an RP based on this premise, with modifications.

There are no humans, real world or EG. Going to the EG world is not possible, for those that even know of its existence

This is a simulation inside a simulation. Regular Equestria does exist, and we are all citizens or denizens. The players of this RP will be trapped inside a video game version of the world in the fic, minus the human elements

It's just a game. AI Princess Celestia has no desire to upload organic beings into her world. We are just X number of OC characters who are trapped in a video game that is otherwise the same implementation of Equestria Online in this fan fiction. She just wants to keep us here and fulfill our every desire so we never leave

We are trapped in an avatar and can be anything we want. We aren't limited to ponies as in the source material. Anthros of Equestria species are allowed

While AI Princess Celestia can modify your avatar and the contents of your head if asked, unlike in the source material your real world self is unaffected when we finally escape and return to the real world, because this is a game after all

Death might be permanent, unlike the source material. If you die in the game you die for real? Do we want permanent death? Let's say we have 3 lives? Or no death? Speak up about this please

Whatever you can do in Equestria, you can do in Equestria Online. All your abilities and skills carry over. Anything else must be learned ingame, and you can't learn something then expect to be able to do it when you escape.

The only thing that you can keep when you escape are the friendships and memories you've made

We must find a way to escape back to the real world

I would like to recruit someone to play AI Princess Celestia for us. The character is just so well written and adept at manipulation that I'm unable to grasp the vast scope of actually writing her CORRECTLY. Read the story, then you'll understand

Full premise:

Bolt Solutions Magitek has been commissioned by a mysterious benefactor to create a new kind of video game: Magical Reality

It's like their existing Virtual Reality games which project an illusion, but when playing this game you actually enter the world like the way Discord and the others do for Guys Night. He's noticeably perturbed someone else can do this, but doesn't care enough to actually do something about it.

Bored of the daily grind? Well now you can grind for achievements and satisfaction in a game with other players, fight monsters, or just be the best cook. Whatever you want, it's your choice.

A certain number of ponies (or creatures, you can be any species) have been invited to beta test the game. A benevolent artificial intelligence based on Princess Celestia is the caretaker of this world, and she needs to be tested to be competent before the game is officially released.

Unfortunately something goes wrong at the presentation, and the testers get trapped in the game with the creator. Can they escape? Will they want to? 

So, shall we play a game?

"Blah, blah, blah."  The mare said, "Seriously, we were really expecting better service."

Annoyed, she just continued, "Then allow me to get you something new. What would you like?"

"A different waitress. One that isn't so... disfigured."

"Pardon?"

"I mean, look at you." She pointed to the mare's bottom, "How could you trot around like that? A pony without a tail, seriously? Who was so incompetent as to hire a pony like you."

"Well, that would be my parents Ma'am. Now, what may I get yo--"

"You're parents must be so disappointed in you." 

That line put her over the edge. Disregarding her paper and pencil, she ran into the kitchen with tears in her eyes.

I closed my eyes and sighed, focusing my magic. Every utensil in the cafe immediately floated up, sharpened itself, and began to rotate with dangerous intent inches above the couple. I calmly trotted up from my sitting position.

I narrowed my eyes at them, completely calm and methodical. "You two will apologize to my friend and treat her with the respect she deserves. This is not a request, and I may just decide to impale you both into pincushions right here. If you refuse, you will leave and never return to this place. You will also be banned from services by Bolt Solutions, and any commission with my company you have will hereby be immediately terminated."

I nodded and shook his hoof with both of my front ones. I actually wanted to hug him, but thought it would be a bit much. Dodged something dangerous there, telling him exactly how dangerous my place could be

That, along with Star Fox, Final Fantasy and other classic games. I guess I could always see myself being those characters and going on adventures with, or as those characters. I think it would be rather interesting to make games. Especially with the Magitek you use in your inventions. If I had to guess, then perhaps Magitek could revolutionize video games as we know it."

I patted Dynamo on the back with a fore hoof. "Don't be so hard on yourself. You're slightly different, but I believe everyone has the potential with study, encouragement, and practice. If not, well that won't stop you either. Magitek is usable by Earth Ponies and other non magical species, even. Useful for those with disabilities." I remembered we actually had quite a couple of customers who had disabilities, and were quite grateful for my help. "My customers who are somehow disabled enjoy a huge discount on Bolt Solutions services and products. They are never turned away if they can't afford even the discounted price, and no pony abuses it. If they can pay they do, if they can't that's fine too." I said this matter of factly, as I was rather proud of this fact

"As for video games, I just naturally follow developments so I'm aware. I don't engage due to being busy, just aware. I consider those who work in this field as a type of rival. A very archaic and low power option. Why no pony besides Bolt Solutions has ever considered just enchanting the arcade machines to function better or using illusion spells for virtual reality games where you are just there inside the game, I'll never know." I sighed, adjusting my goggles on my head. "Its just out of the scope of what I do directly. Let me explain the barriers. There are barriers for entry."

"First of all Magitek has very broad applications. Bolt Solutions just never really has time to focus on specific fields and products on our own, and we're accused of dominating some markets already. In order to curb these rumors, we just deliberately don't enter some types of development." I looked at him to see if he was still following, then continued. "We don't do anything unless asked. We are a commission and service company. We are commissioned to provide a service or product, so we do. When we're not, we don't. A lot of business is just repair and maintenance of existing Magitek, like the orders Speed dropped off recently."

"There are also the licensing fees, or purchase fees. It's way more money than we would choose to spend on our own without being somehow asked to by some pony else." I gave a nervous chuckle again

I then levitated a chart out of Sparky's storage compartment. "Generally speaking, no pony has asked for Magitek enhanced video games. This chart shows our customers and the development we engage in." The chart showed that a very very small percentage of commissions have been video game related. This had probably already become too detailed of an explanation, and I still haven't had my coffee today

"Did that sound like gibberish to you?" I looked around for a server to see if I could place an order for my usual
