@Earth oh my friend, my poor, poor friend. Noooooooo, they did not, instead, the MCU and Disney were forced to make a deal with the devil himself. The MCU has the right to have Spider-Man (as the current deal stands) to star in or appear in 5 MCU movies (this could change, but right now it's going to be Civil War, Homecoming, Infinity War: Part 1, Infinity War: Part 2, and Homecoming 2 or whatever it'll be called). Sony still has ultimate movie rights over Spider-Man properties, and have an option to have Tom Holland in a third Spidey movie of their own since he's slated for 3 Spidey movies right now total, but their properties (as far as we know, at least) are not going to be in the MCU. So yes, they are doing their best to create a dumpster fire of epic proportions!
