"You are reminding me of G5 Twilight." Regardless of the intent of the person who wrote this, you got complimented! Twilight's greatest accomplishment was creating the Unity Crystals, after all. And only correcting you so that you're in the know, not to play teacher... -
To this day, I still see people acting like it was some big bastardization of Twilight's character for her to create the Unity Crystals, even as it's been explained over and over how it was explained in the comics and Make Your Mark that it was the ponies' fault that magic got lost (they could still use the magic even after it was sealed in the Unity Crystals), not Twilight's. Regardless, there's something I never realized until now...isn't it much more out of character/"out of character" for Twilight to be okay with outliving her friends than sealing magic away to save the world? I mean, think about it. Twilight created the Unity Crystals because she believed ponies would choose friendship and bring magic back if it was lost. That's consistent with the friendship is magic theme...but how is her being cool with outliving her friends? -

Doing my best to be cautiously optimistic about this despite G5's abrupt cancellation. If they really intend to make us wait until 2027, I hope "lots of new content" does not mean we're just going to get that Cutie Mark Camp show.

I've now finished watching all twenty-six episodes after the second batch dropped not too long ago and I was pretty impressed. Loved how there were no bad episodes in the entirety of the series, enjoyed all the new characters, and I especially enjoyed Sawtooth's character progression. This show really deserves to be more recognized. -
I'm being serious, I actually did dream up a bad G5 critic video last night. In it, someone with Saberspark's voice (this isn't a dig at the guy, it's just what happened) was calling G5 the worst children's cartoon of all time because of camera angles that were like the camera angles from this Spider-Man show, a bunny character in it that wasn't Twitch, and Sparky being called to meet this anthropomorphic porcupine character that "looked like a pumpkin". That's what the person making the video said before this clip of Sparky running from that character started playing, a clip that ended with Sparky breathing magical fire on the character, turning it into an actual pumpkin. I saw that the video had 200 likes and 30 dislikes before the page scrolled down to show this video with fanart of the main cast of G5 meeting Allura in a thumbnail and I woke up after that.

I believe you, I'm just saying, some Targets and Walmarts still have G5 toys. -
My Target still sells two types of G5 toys and it is still possible to order G5 toys from Walmart online. But yeah, the diminishing pony sections have definitely been depressing to see. Very glad I also got to see G5 merch sell well on Amazon during the 2024 holiday rush and the peak of this year's spring sale rush in addition to new merch in China.

UPDATE: Just read an explanation of what they're supposed to be, containers of figures of Sunny, Izzy, Pipp, and Zipp, bracelets, and nail stickers.

Just read this today, I can't believe how much this comic got dunked on...it's great. One page at the end that isn't consistent with Make Your Mark does not make a bad comic. Zipp was so freaking cool in it and it was so freaking funny (I can't be the only one who laughed at Hitch breathing into a paper bag). I liked Maretime Mysteries more, but this comic was still epic and deserved better.- 3 replies

Definitely night. Even before I had to work a night shift at a warehouse, I was a night owl (or in this case, a night pony ). Going to bed early in the morning is totally normal for me. -
Crazy how the second chapter of the Pipp the Poltergeist comic came out right when my favorite overlooked cartoon of all time, Mermicorno: Starfall, dropped its second batch of episodes. I didn't plan that, I swear.
Anyway, I'm so glad to finally be getting this out.

My sparkle is definitely blue. I truly do not feel that it's a coincidence that Hitch's sparkle is a bluish-green color and that Misty is blue, for what makes my sparkle shine is being kind and empathetic to others!- 28 replies

While you being mad is completely understandable, both G5 shows were in production before Chris Cocks took over and virtually everyone agrees that the later episodes of the G5 shows are better than the earlier ones. I don't think Chris had much influence over the quality of the shows. What I feel he is responsible for though is marketing the series and it's sadly starting to make sense now why the shows were never marketed well.

It's honestly hard for me to imagine not liking pizza, even though I don't eat it super often. I usually like to get a Meat Lovers pizza at my local joint when I'm in the mood. My all-time favorite topping would have to be sausage, but my all-time favorite polarizing topping is definitely anchovies.
