Heyo Solly! (Which, btw, I nickname you that because it sounds like Sunny/your bright coat colors) Long time no talky!
As a fellow trainer and lover of dragon type pokemon I wanted to ask what your opinion on Raihan was!
....
Because, in my honestest of opinions, I find him somewhat disappointing & aggravating.
From every source I can tell, he has absolutely no history, will or theming to connect him to the mystery & majesty of Dragons. No reason for him to choose that typing. Sure, he has a pretty baller dragon-themed hoodie... but that's kinda something I would guess any eight-year-old could ask their parents to buy them! I can't seem to get over how poor an excuse he is for a Dragon Tamer and a final gym leader.
He uses only two dragon types, at that, on his team when this generation debuted so many good new dragons that could use some spotlight. Sure, on later matches he goes up to two other dragons, but... He's a final Gym Leader who never has a full team!!
I will grant him that, though. He really is a master at his chosen weather effect for battle. He's fully realized Sandstorm in a way that no one else has yet. ...but to a point where he's had to sacrifice actually working with his chosen Type. If anything, i'm thinking, that Raihan would make a better Ground gym Leader.
As far as I can tell, his only defining trait is "Takes Selfies, cus popular."

I think he's a really cool guy. I like how he's a little bit cocky...and he has every right to be considering how tough he is, but at the same time, he respects you as a challenger. Unlike the rest of the other gym leaders, he has a strategy. when u face against him for the first time, he has a weather team and is NOT centered around one type. Not only that, he challenges you to a double battle, which is something we have NOT seen since Tate and Liza from the 3rd generation. I like the guy. Very challenging, it's something different and makes you think outside of the box.
...and yeah, I would've liked to have seen him use a couple of more dragons on his team
