  1. I'm sure the specs aren't that important, and that we'll get announcements of games and a price in the future. Still, I'm hoping the battery Isn't as bad as it is on Wii U gamepad. I don't know about getting a Smash port because it doesn't look like It'll have support for the Smash controller, it doesn't seem very practical. Love the new Mario game too, looks great. To be honest I don't see why so many people criticise Nintendo's lack of 3rd party support, the amount of games they make themselves more than make up for it. Though it seems like there's a large list of 3rd party supporters in the reports this time around, I don't think that would be a problem. I don't mind Rockstar not being part of it, Nintendo would censor most of GTA anyway. Yay for nostalgia I guess. Yeah, it does look awesome.
  2. True, I actually like the name NX better. But hey, you can always count on Nintendo to innovate in new and interesting ways. I wouldn't agree the Wii U was a disaster though, it just had low sales and is underrated in my opinion, there are a lot of great games on there, and the gamepad Isn't as intrusive as I thought it would be. I played Mass Effect 3 on Xbox so I wouldn't know. Well, I guess you have a while to wait then. Sony and Microsoft still need to reveal their stuff.
  3. How come? Do you have a system for how you buy your consoles?
  4. Oh, cool. I was joking about the inner fanboy thing, I've never actually played the Elder Scrolls games myself, I just needed something to say to justify my shock. Though I hear It's pretty mature, I'm hoping Nintendo doesn't censor it, otherwise, I probably won't choose the Switch to experience Skyrim for the first time on...
  5. WAIT, THEY'RE PUTTING ELDER SCROLLS ON THERE? Sorry, my inner fanboy got the best of me...
  6. I just thought I'd post this because I wanna hear what other ponies have to say about it, and I like the idea. I love the concept of being able to take home console games into the portable realm, It's something that seemed like science fiction before, but now It's actually happening! I can't wait to see what games are coming out for it, considering the large list of publishers that are going to support it. What do you guys think?
  7. You're from England too? Neat. I understand what you mean when you talk about S&ART, I honestly only finished all the races on Medium difficulty myself. I would like to try my hand at hard mode some time though. Ugh... I'm sorry, I might get a little rage filled here... I HATE it when people say Sonic Lost World didn't have any speed. Did NOBODY remember how fast the spindash was in that game, and how fast you can do parkour once you've perfected it, and in general there are a lot of exhilarating moments, like that one act where you're running through the honeycombs. I welcome the return of the wisps, but I think they should have been used better. Because since it used to be Wii U exclusive they had to do something with the gamepad, and the wisps fit that role rather well to me, so I don't mind it, despite not playing it on Wii U myself. Lets' just forget about the Deadly Six altogether... Well, obviously they couldn't do a Mario DLC, because... Well, you know, rivals. Having Sonic in a Mario style level just feels wrong. Oh yes, even though I've not played Boom, I have played the demo, watched 2 let's plays (cobanermani456 and the Game Grumps ones) and have seen various video and article reviews and media coverage to the point where I might as well know the game back to front, because it astounds me that anyone could make a game this bad... I guess BigRedButton saw Sonic 06 and decided to apply that to the Boomiverse. Still, I think Sonic 06 is still much worse. Well, I discussed before, I don't think Game Gear stages are a good idea... But maybe they could have used stuff from the other parts of Sonic's handheld past, what about the Advance trilogy, Rush and Rush Adventure? Sonic Boom is the only show that doesn't make forced slapstick terrible, I applaud them for that, I have bought every DVD and have a complete Season set, I don't do that with many cartoons, and I wait eagerly for Season 2. Why they gave the games the green light? Well, SEGA needed an excuse to use their portable console they sunk money into making. I guess they figured they could capitalise on Sonic's success by getting games on there. Whether it worked is unknown I guess, hope they got enough sales for it to be worth it.
  8. So we're talking 2012-2016 right? OK, here we go... Mario And Sonic At The 2012 Olympic Games - Haven't played it. Sonic 4: Episode 2 - This game was a lot better than Episode 1 I feel, as the physics were much more improved than they used to be. The story successfully recreates that of the old games, though I do wish the levels were a little more new and inspired, ya know, like how Sonic Mania's gonna be. The addition of the Tails moves and Metal Sonic's Episode were a nice touch, but sadly I don't think this is quite the Sonic 4 me and a lot of other fans were hoping for. That doesn't stop it from being a pretty great game though, and I feel too many people slam down on Sonic 4 as a whole. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed - Now I haven't played the first one, but I can safely say this is a SEGA racing game done right. I found it weird that everyone complained about Sonic being in the car, think about it, if he wasn't, he'd just win, it was to even the playing field. Regardless, I enjoyed the various playable characters, the variety of Sonic stages and others from different classic SEGA games, the controls were really tight and the music is just awesome remixes of good old SEGA songs. There's fair challenge without being excessive, there are multiple game modes providing hours of gameplay, and It's a very addicting and fun racer overall. Sonic Athletics - Haven't played. Sonic Ghost Shooting - Haven't played. Sonic Lost World - Ah, this one. So it was a little jarring going into this new style of gameplay after I feel Sonic perfected the boost formula in Generations, but it was still fun nonetheless. I've only played the PC port so I can't really comment on the gamepad mechanics or extra DLC the Wii U version got. Some of the levels I feel were a little cluttered and messy, and SEGA kept throwing game mechanics into random levels hoping we enjoy them and without much cohesion. Regardless the Mario Galaxy style gameplay was pretty good, the wisps are back at full force, after I loved them in Generations, and of course as always the music is awesome, though I really miss Crush 40 now... I don't want to go into too much detail about the specifics, I'll be here forever, but two more things I wanna say is I don't think Super Sonic is worth the effort of getting all the red rings, and while the story was OK, I really need a break from the new writing team, I like lightheartedness but this is too much. Also, screw the Deadly Six! Enough said. Mario And Sonic At The Sochi 2014 Olympic Games - Haven't played. Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric - Haven't played and probably never will. Sonic Runners - While it was clearly a bit of a cash grab I liked Sonic runners. The 2D running scroll gameplay was amazing, there were plenty of events, power ups and leaderboards, the level up system was pretty good and the wisps etc. etc. The music was amazing, all the characters and stages were good, though I wish they were new stages and not just Lost World's. I'd comment more but there's not much else I can remember about this game, and I can't check back because sadly, It's not playable anymore. Sonic Boom: Fire And Ice - Not played yet, but I will and I won't give an opinion on it until then. If you want me to go into detail about any certain aspects of these games, since I sort of skimmed over them, feel free to ask. Of course, if you want me to I can cover the handheld games which I missed out as well. I think we can all agree here that Sonic Boom: Rise Of Lyric was pretty terrible. I found Shattered Crystal pretty mediocre, the TV show's still good and Fire & Ice doesn't look half bad honestly. On the subject of Generations 3DS though... I'm sorry, but I can't see Game Gear levels EVER working. There was nothing memorable about those...
  9. This Isn't really that big of a deal honestly. I don't find it offensive, I actually find it kind of flattering that they're giving a nod to us bronies in a movie that has so much notoriety, like all comic book based movies for some reason.
  10. It's true that a lot of the characters have shortcomings in their design and personality, but I'm one of those people who see the good in everything. To be honest though, I don't see why people label Shadow as edgy. He's just your average obligatory rival character who has the same ability as the other but is more dark or evil, or just thinks differently. Ya know, like Goku and Vegeta, or Mario and Wario. Though now that I think about it, the reason he probably gets that reputation is because of the one game named after him where they decided to give Shadow guns and make everything moody and dark, which is just pathetic. I get SEGA was trying to appeal to a mature audience with another series (Yes, they were planning on creating a whole Shadow game series before this blew up in their face) but you can't just throw guns, minor curse words and bleak environments and call it mature. It needs to have actual thought put into it like Devil May Cry or Half-Life. Sorry, I went off on a tangent, also, back to the subject at hand, they tried to make him super kid friendly in Sonic Free Riders, but it just doesn't work for him. He's not inherently edgy, but his personality clashes in that game, he doesn't have the same feel good power of teamwork personality Sonic has, he's the opposite, that's the point of a rival.
  11. Which one? Do you mean... Followed by DUDUDUDUDUDUDUDUDDUDUDUDDU To each their own I guess. True, I suppose SEGA deserves some flak, but not on the level they're getting. They didn't even develop Sonic Boom!
  12. At this point It's just hopes and dreams... OK, no problem. Well, it makes sense... Now, I've only seen half of Season 6 so far, but still, Twilight is and always has been the leader of the Mane 6, I don't see that changing anytime soon even with Starlight around. She's just a potential seventh member.
  13. Yeah, It's a classic. Put it right up there with "You're gonna crash! Aaaah!" "Teriyaaaaah!" "Because... We're Sonic Heroes!" "Where's that DAMN fourth Chaos Emerald!" "Don't touch it!" "Want some chocolate?" "Someone ordered a large clobbering topped with everything!" etc.
  14. Hm, if I was corrupted I would probably use my powers to take revenge on those wronged me. It's screwed up of course, but corruption usually is.
  15. Yeah, all the Eggman voices were great in one way or another! Well, except for... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y20OQJ8rOHs
  16. I don't think he was trying to replicate it though, look at every set of Sonic voice actors, they all speak quite differently from each other and sometimes depending on the actor their personality can come off very differently. Granted, just now I did remember one threatening mike pollock quote (not as good as the other one, but It's still notable.)
  17. Yikes... Must have caused many splinters and bone crushing depression that day... That's good to hear, It's a little sad of those people but hey, I won't judge. Best voice acting? Sorry, I have to disagree with you there. While a lot of them were still carried over from the Adventure games, Tails had a new voice actor for Heroes, and well, I hate to have to insult him but I can't stand his Heroes voice! I actually think Deem Bristow was at his best in the first Sonic Adventure, It's too bad SEGA didn't get him to sound threatening more often, seriously, the only time I've been able to take him seriously was this line. Not that Eggman is supposed to be threatening mind you, but I like the touch. Still prefer Mike Pollock though. Well, I suppose the damage has already been done. Still, if you can't please everyone, I'd still try to please as many as possible. To be honest, most of the Sonic games people wanted done have been re-released or remastered. Most people seem unaware Sonic 3 & Knuckles already got a PC release (Though god knows why they're so against the game now...) and Sonic 1/2 have been remastered, hell, even those old game gear games and Sonic R got ported at one point. Having never played Sonic Advance, I can't really relate to that but I suppose they could re-release them on the 3DS eShop.
  18. Whoa, those look neat! How did I never know about these costumes? I suppose they must be really hard to find... I thought all the power-up's were mandatory, guess not. As for the picture: HELL. YEAH.
  19. But I thought those were just rumours. Hidden costumes? Water necklace? What in Equestria are those? From 120 people to 11? Wow, that's quite a decrease! I think It's been building back up quite nicely though, even after Boom happened... I understand the controversy over Sonic characters using handguns, and how motorcycle's are practically pointless for Sonic characters other than racing games, but I don't see how the Werehog and swordplay are bad concept's. If anything I enjoyed the Werehog stages.
  20. I agree on the first point, that SEGA should stop rushing their games, and hope they've learned their lesson after Sonic 06. Now It's not like good games can't be made in a short time (Majora's Mask was made in a year and that game was amazing!) but it depends on the skill, time and money needed to make the game. They were trying to cram so much stuff into Sonic 06 and yet release it in such a short amount of time which is where the problem lies. Thankfully, I also think SEGA has been starting to listen to people more, what with situations like the Sonic Twitter/Facebook. I know what you're talking about with the more immature fans, people like SammyClassicSonicFan for example, and the problem of people being split into different groups because the games appeal to different people is why I think SEGA should find one formula and stick to it, while changing, adding and removing things here and there to try and stop dividing everyone, to stop things like what happened with the transition from Generations to Lost World. Fan games are awesome and can sometimes be even better than the official products, but I've yet to see a fan game based on Sonic hit that high of a note for me. But It's good to see that now SEGA's been beginning to sort of collaborate with people who DO know how to do that, like Christian Whitehead. Sonic Mania is basically looking like an officially licensed fan game, and it might as well be that. I also love Freedom Planet and have a high respect for it, it really shows the amazing kind of things SEGA's games insipre, and sometimes Freedom Planet even outshines Sonic with certain aspects, so yes, I think some fresh gameplay would help SEGA if they did the same, even if Freedom Planet 2 is making some... Questionable changes.
