  1. My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (as far as I'm aware at least) got some kind of theatrical release, even if it was very limited. But I imagine it probably didn't do that well in the box office area, I just don't think there's a wide enough audience for something for so specific. Now that we have a pony focused MLP movie though, I think if that was in theatres it would strike a cord with the public more than Equestria Girls would have. Hasbro could probably make a lot of money doing that, but then again I suppose they also might make quite a lot of money just going straight to DVD, no-one really knows at this point, but I think the question still stands.

  2. "Twilight... I know we've never met and we likely never will meet again, but you'll do great things in the future. Take care of your friends, keep learning, and don't ever give up, no matter how much it may drive you crazy."

Don't give up! MAKE. YOUR BOOKS. COME TRUE!

-Hello Fluttershy, let me say something: You gave me a lot of lessons and advices that tought me about kindness, and tho that made me a bit shy, i'm now being kind to everypony and they like me for that. I'd want to thank you and tell: You're the best pony ever. Have a nice day!

*Communication brokes just as i tell her the last word*

I guess that i finished just in time...  :D

Yay, character development in real life!

  3. If I ever met AppleJack, I would ask her to make me an apple pie. I have been dying to try one.

    :D

True, real apple pies are always possible, but an Applejack apple pie? That's a whole other level!

To Dashie: You're the cutest thing ever. I wish I could hug you. "I'm not cute" is not a response.

Dashie is in denial of cuteness XD

  4. Ah, my mistake then. My recommendation still stands, the first season alone has had quite the impressive impression on me.

Oh, I have no doubt others would notice, just that I myself may miss it. I didn't notice it back when the dark age was supposedly ending, as shows like Adventure Time, Regular Show, and Gumball weren't really shows I got into despite people seeming to like them, so to me it was like not much had changed outside of MLP.

I imagine for me it might be the same if another dark age begins, I won't notice it until I see others complaining about it. :please:

True, I suppose if you're just sticking to a couple of good long running shows, you kind of miss that sort of thing.

  5. I agree with the others here. Most of the current cartoons will at least have a couple more seasons. And even if western animation dies there's always animie.

I agree with the others here. Most of the current cartoons will at least have a couple more seasons. And even if western animation dies there's always animie.

I love anime myself, but it can't replace cartoons I feel. Besides, let's keep the anime and cartoon industries separate, anime is doing just fine on It's own, there's a plethora of content there.

I'm still not fully convinced we ever came out of one...Well, that's not exactly fair, I think the general quality of cartoons this past while has gone up after the "Dark Age", but most of it wasn't really my cup of tea. I love MLP of course, and after a few tries of watching it I've finally fallen in love with Steven Universe too, so there's that. Gravity Falls was pretty entertaining from what I saw, but I just didn't get into it as much as others seem to have...I should give that series a full watch some day.

Guess I'm saying, if we entered a new dark age I probably wouldn't even notice. But at the least MLP and SU both seem like they're sticking around for a while, and a few good shows can be the light in the darkness. :)

Also, just have to say, I'd really recommend checking out Samurai Jack. I saw episodes of it here and there back when it was on and thought it was cool, but never really sat down and watched it fully. Since the revival is coming soon I figured I should do that, and I just got through season 1 and it's great! It holds up really well, and has a unique style all it's own you don't see in other cartoons.

I was actually referring to ReBoot when I said that, but maybe I'll look into Samurai Jack as well, while I was aware of it and had seen a couple of episodes, I've not seen the whole season. I mean, we noticed in the late 2000's, I don't think we wouldn't notice here. These kind of shows are the Luna to our Nightmare Moon.

  6. I'll tell her that she and all the other ponies are wonderful and that a lot of people really love them !

Any idea of who that might be?

Between the general availability of reform spells and the spells Starlight Glimmer used on the main 5, I can see an issue with ponies and the ethics of mind control.  Actually if an outside observer brought that up, it could make Twilight think twice about it -- maybe even look into say Celestias School for Gifted Unicorns which I postulate could include mind control elements...  I really don't know if there is fire with the amount of smoke I see, but it would bug Twilight enough that she would do said research.  If it is more than just Twilight being careless about it // abusing her access to books and Starlight's general attitude about things then no harm no foul.  If there is more to it ...  It has the chance to better their culture, and certainly has a greater shot of me being contacted again, etc, than OMG pones -- take me with you.

Ah, I get what you mean, Twilight's curiosity would probably get the better of her by a large margin.

  7. Take all the time you need.

My favourite ponies are Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, so screw it, I'll add a quote for both of them.

@Fluttershy: Thanks for being so cute! Also, don't worry, you've really progressed at standing up for yourself and you've grown into a fine young mare since that day at flight school, no matter what other ponies think.

@Rainbow Dash: Hey sport, congrats on getting into the Wonderbolts, it took you a long time but you did it in the end and I'm happy for you. Keep being 20% cooler!

I'm not sure who's my all time favorite pony, but I'll go with Twilight for now.

"For Celestia's sake, calm down! You don't have to be perfect. Even if you're a princess."

Add that one to the friendship journal...

Take me to Equestria, through any means XD lol

That's violating the rules! Nah, jk, I get it, Equestria is too much to resist...

    I Love You <333333333333

Awwww, I bet they'd be really touched.

  8. I don't really know what else to tell you, so I'll post a clip instead.

Ah, I see what you mean now.

You forgot the ReBoot reboot. :P Although, I think Samurai Jack is more a continuation than a reboot. From what I've seen, it continues the story of The Samuraiiiii, rather than retelling it.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one, mind you, I never watched the original so I guess I didn't follow up on it much, I've only seen the first couple teaser pictures for the reboot.

  9. You guys need to improve on your magical ethics.  All this mind control is dangerous and not in-keeping with your culture.

When did mind control come into this?

What about you? What would you say to your favourite character?

Hmmm... It's pretty hard to think actually. I'll get back to you on that.

I would show Twilight Sparkle this plate and say, "you are not alone."

    sig-4728807.golden_record_cover.gif

I'm no science expert, all that looks like to me is the Death Star, but hey, if Twilight can relate to it, that's cool right.

Literally, I will be like..."OMG! You're here and real! Oh...can you send me to Equestria?".

The good old OMG freak out. A true classic.

  10. This is what can happen when you have multiple writers working on the show at once and some leave while others come in to fill the void as it were. They might not take previous events into account because they were seen as insignificant so you end up with plot inconveniences that the fandom will catch. We're pretty observant like that.

True that, guess it can be pretty hectic.

  11. I said the pacing was quicker than other 11 minute shows. Not really sure how to give examples there. You said you haven't seen Mighty Magiswords. So do you have any idea what the pacing on it is like? The best way I can describe it is that everything moves faster than in other shows (that I've seen at least).

Well, compared to shows like Adventure Time, Steven Universe or Regular Show etc. how different is the pacing.

I don't really think there is such a thing as the dark ages of cartoons (especially now and forward). If you look at one network or something, yeah maybe so.. but when you consider all the networks we currently have, all the independent stuff, the webshows, all the stuff you can find on Netflix or Hulu or whatever, all the DVD sets of old shows you may like or have never even tried and are curious about... there is just a wealth of cartoons out there still waiting to be discovered.

I think if you find yourself in the dark ages you are imposing it upon yourself.

    They aren't half good either.

Yeah, but the independent stuff needs money to keep going, and with no-one around to support it, the shows are eventually gonna die out quite quickly. I do see a market for streaming service exclusive shows however, but I don't think it should replace regular television. Netflix and Amazon Prime for example have some damn good exclusives here and there, and they have something that caters to everybody. Also, not really relevant, but while all the DVD's of shows around are great, everywhere other than America gets the short end of the stick when it comes to that, I should know.

The only bad one I can think of is Avatar...

  12. Might be a bit predictable but I'd tell Flutters I love her.

Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay! Yay!

The Elements of Harmony no longer exist as they have returned to the tree from whence they came although spiritual successors of them now exist in the form of those pendants the girls are wearing. Sunset never had an Element of Harmony like the others did so they would need to explain what hers is without relying on saying that she had an element too which isn't the case.

Thing is though, you can't really add an element to the Elements Of Harmony, because that would really screw with the plot of the show and earlier EG movies in the fact that the elements always worked without this secret seventh element. However, if they created a new element in a way that meant the six elements still worked together, but the seventh element just boosts their power a little, maybe it would work. But since the elements of harmony are in a tree now, Hasbro shot themselves in the foot so now they can't do anything like that. Having a new friendship element without a physical element to go with it would not work.

  13. I fear if I say to RD how awesome she is, she going to start bragging xp. but i would say if you want to prank someone?

Stopping RD from bragging is like stopping Twilight from reading books.

Many have been saying that she is and one of the staff did say that when someone asked them one time if Sunset had an element, what would hers be. Now all the writers need to do is make it official but not in the traditional sense.

What do you mean by traditional sense?

  14. Just because PPG2016 and TTG exists means fuck all. Cartoons are much more better now than they were in the dark days of 2007-2009

I hear ya, but a lot of the good cartoons we have now are ending soon. Sure right now It's just a couple of dud shows, but what if that expands? Cartoon network seems to be going in a pattern of reviving shows to get money from nostalgia without putting in nearly as much effort, It's not just those two shows, they've continued to do it since with Ben 10, I have a feeling eventually the channel might get overrun with these kind of shows.

I never said it was bad. Just that it's ending. Though I will say that I don't like it. Some people do, though. I do recommend checking out We Bare Bears and Clarence. I think those are pretty good. I've also been enjoying Mighty Magiswords (though I will say that the pacing could be slower).

I may check out We Bare Bears but I'm not sure about Clarence, I've seen ads and trailers circling around and it doesn't look like my kind of show. Though I've not seen MM either, I feel like people should cut it a little slack, you can't really pace your show when you're restricted to 10 minute episodes.
