    D! The Big Bopper was given his seat on the plane by Waylon Jennings; Jennings felt bad because he had the flu. Dion was allegedly offered to buy a seat on the plane, but he turned it down as it was too much money for him at the time, Patsy Cline was not involved and didn’t die until a plane crash in 1963, and Ritchie Valens won his seat off Tommy Allsup in a coin toss- Allsup claims he doesn’t know what possessed him to do a coin toss, but it saved his life and cost 17 year old Valens his.
