Ok, so today was fun! I did all sorts of things.
But I have an honest question. If any of you like modern rap (AKA the music most teenagers are listening to now) why do you like it? I’ve asked several people and none of them have given me a serious answer. I just asked my cousins and they got all mad at me.
I mean oldschool rap is awesome, it’s just most of the lyrics I find in rap today are disgusting. I don’t get why so many people enjoy it. If any of y’all like it, I’d love to know why.
Anyway, goodnight!
(Once again, sorry for not checking status updates. By the time I get back to my room it’s late and I really don’t want to have to check 40+ status updates.
I’m gonna post this every night because I don’t want anypony to think I’m ignoring them.

^ I hope it isn't too late to respond to this, but I just feel like this is something that I might be able to give my thoughts on. Here it goes?
The really sad thing about rap is that the whole gangster rap that we hear nowadays wasn't even how it started out. Originally it was a way to talk about important things poetically and musically, a form of poetry. But the whole drugs sex bleepity bleep bleep rap got pushed more by the industry than the original stuff. I know why other kids my age (teenagers and young adults) listen to it. There are many reasons, but I will list just a few. The majority of teenagers are very hormonally-driven, with very little self-control. The punk attitude really appeals to them. Also, rappers rap about all these things like using more creative cussing, drugs, sex, etc., and teenagers love it because they are wanting to try all these new things. And since it is glorified by much of our culture, they are told it is cool, and they want to be cool. Nobody wants to be uncool and unpopular.
That's why I think they like it. I hate it though personally. The only rapper I listen to is NF. Why? He never uses curse words. He raps about real issues and personal things he is going through, which is what guys like Eminem did. Seriously, check NF out. He just topped the Billboard 200 without cursing and being mainstream.

@Soren Peregrine that’s what I’ve always thought it was. It’s just that no one seems to be willing to admit it. But I totally agree with you, like I said originally, oldschool rap (guys like Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G. are awesome.
I listen to Eminem and NF too, they do what rap was originally about- revealing problems and calling for change by using creative wording and powerful messages.
NF should be a lot more popular than he is. ‘How could you leave us’ is an amazing song, and a really emotional one too.
Seems like a lot of people are with me: liking what rap was, but not what it’s become.
