  1. I meant go put it here: https://mlpforums.com/characters/ Sorry heh But its fine to reveal things over time. Saphire's character sheet says basically nothing at the moment, but will be filled out with things the more is revealed!
  2. Alright! Let me know what you come up with and I'll see. I might need to give some direction for how they come in to start so it makes sense. But idk, still learning how to "Advanced RP" :p
  3. @Azure Dawn Do you have an idea of what character you'd want to play? @Stancet This is a nice character. I may be able to bring him in later in the story! I'm cookin'
  4. @Skylight Scintillate@Silly Druid I updated this post in the RP with different media.
  5. You can look at the OOC thread and check there! https://mlpforums.com/topic/203394-ooc-for-when-worlds-collide/
  6. @Cash In Got it, Boss o7 Strawberry glass is pretty good. Do you like it with or without the beads?
  7. Yeah but doesn't that have the texture of that foam stuff for plants?
  8. "Greetings," came the surprisingly normal voice of the pony, muffled through a mouth full of food. Stardust notices she's holding the sandwich with her hooves, even though she has a horn. She turned to look at him. As her eyes met his, he felt that sensation again, but stronger, like the tingling numbness of a limb sat on too long. Finally able to see her face up close, he took in her details. She was a pinkish-red color, with an oddly darkened rectangle exactly on the bridge of her snout and a sprinkling of freckles. Her snout was not like that of a normal Ponyvillian mare, resembling the princess-like snouts of Canterlot royalty. Her hair was various shades of blue, yet a little frazzled under the hood. Again, her eyes... Saphiric Eyes - 0001-0122.mp4 There were no pupils, but it was not the glowing eyes of a changeling either. Now up close, they looked nothing like a changeling's. Strands of fibrous blue filaments stretched from the edges and seemed to coalesce into a blue-and-white center as if they sunk into a glass of cream. The profile of her eyes was sharp and framed the blue and white pools in a way that looked almost threatening. As she removed her hood, out popped a set of very pointed ears and a ruffled ponytail. Was everything about this mare pointy? Was she even a mare? "How can I help you?" she asked with politeness, having swallowed her bite. Hearing her voice again threw into question the initial assessment of its normalcy. Rather, it was as if some words had multiple notes of pitch, but otherwise stayed within the same unified pitch.
  9. Oops! I didn't mean to imply your post was incorrect. You're doing just fine How old is he? Does he wear clothes (like in the example image)? What does he generally look like? Tired? In a 'pulls long nights' way or a 'is depressed/grumpy' way? Exited? Or more down-to-earth and nerdy?
  10. You know I can respect that. A good cup of clear water is always good, and so is a good pane of plain glass
  11. Mine is cranberry glass with the bubbles PSA: DONT EAT GLASS THIS IS A JOKE
  12. Very interesting. I think I know at least a bit what you mean, because I've had mint leaves before. They're kinda eh because of 'plant' flavor, and can be icky. But also, like, mint oreos I had once. Way too much. Way too strong. Did not like that, nor did stomach. You're probably right on it being spicy. I bet its similar to the chemical spicy plants produce, which is a defense mechanism against predators
  13. Once I'm a sleep noises dont really wake me up, but getting to sleep is another thing. Anything unfamiliar will keep me up. I keep a playlist of music from ponytown on when I sleep. Since I've heard it so long, my mind can focus on it as a familiar thing without being distracted by it. But when it's particularly hot, I sometimes put my window AC unit on High Fan mode. The thing about this is that the 120hz hum specifically resonates loudly right where my head usually lies due to room acoustics, so I never have it on high when sleeping. Besides those simple, controllable things
  14. Ayo lets gooooooooooooooooooooooooo jkjk. That is interesting though. I am curious, is it something specific about mint you dont like, or is it just the entire experience of "mint"?
  15. Cottage cheese. In the south, cottage cheese is a common and well-liked dish. I hate it. It tastes and feels like chunky spoiled milk to me. On the flip side, a food I do like that is not commonly liked: Raw tomatos. The big ones. I eat those like an apple.
  16. The ear foam things. My first time at HarmonyCon in 2022(i think), I bunked with a friend. I did not realize this dude snored like a lawnmower. I did not get sleep that night. The next night, I made sure to buy some of the foam ear protectors and slept just fine. Don't be me, kids. Make sure to buy the earplugs, whether you think they snore or not. The last thing you want is to be stuck in a hotel with the hotel store closed and the nearest gas station a significant trek through the cold. (no I did not go and do that). I did get to meet Tootsie4Ever in the lobby in the early hours of the morning though. That was neat
  17. The pony orders a meal in a hushed voice and sits at her table near the back corner. Her face is hidden by her cloak, but Tinker and Stardust can still see the light glinting off her eyes. From the shifting reflection, one could only surmise she was surveying the room, looking at the various ponies, gryphons, and changelings that occupied the small bakery. Suddenly her glance rested on Stardust, and he felt his fur bristle. Not of fear, but of something else. Like a tingling through his nerves. It reminded him of a paper he once saw about the physiological effects of being in the room with Princess Celestia or Princess Luna. The exact cause was inconclusive for fear of invasive procedures being needed, but scientists hypothesize it was a pony's magiculecular system responding to the presence of such potent magic. The feeling lingered as her gaze remained, and vanished the moment it was broken and she focused on the meal in front of her. To his surprise, she had ordered some sort of meat sandwich. Though meat had been introduced into pony society with the integration of species like minotaurs, gryphons, abyssinians, ornithians, and the aptly (if not crudely) named "fishmen" from the thriving city of Klugetown, it was rather rare to see ponies his age eating meat. Only a hoofful younger fillies and colts had begun to consume meats, much to the chagrin of their pony parents.
  18. Sounds good! Actually, for this RP, it's more like the start of their space age Though most of the stuff is kept under wraps. The biggest project is the O.F.C. (orbital friendship canon ): As well as a lunar colony led by Luna. These are both still in their early stages of development though. When you have magic, things like this can go alot faster. I'll probably add this to the OOC if you think I should. I actually do mind if it's AI generated, because I'm an artist and you can just ask me! Give me a description and I'll draw them up for ya! You can PM me if you'd like
  19. OOC Thread with Important Info ----- It has been a few years since Twilight Sparkle ascended to her throne. Though initially it was rumored that Celestia and Luna would be stepping down, they have since chosen to remain as co-rulers with Twilight, much to the relief of the Equestrian populous. While she is the Princess of Friendship, her affluence for science and technology has spread across Equestria, opening new avenues of technology and study. In Ponyville, the school has expanded from one schoolhouse to an entire campus. @Silly Druid is an esteemed teacher at the new Ponyville Center for Education and Enlightenment and is a well-rounded logical pony who has a passion for the sciences of the new Equestria. Their new friend, @Skylight Scintillate, has made themselves known in the quaint town for their ingenuity, and frequently spends time with @Silly Druid. ----- @Silly Druid As a resident of Ponyville, you see lots of strange things. You're used to the normal monster attack or crazy book-horse rampage. But recently you've noticed a pony you've never seen before. To be frank, you're not even quite sure she's a pony. She has a pinkish-red coat, pointed ears, and striking blue eyes that look like a changeling, yet she doesn't seem to be one. She wears a cloak and jacket that drapes over most of her barrel, so you haven't seen her cutiemark. You've noticed her lurking around in alleyways, behind homes, and sometimes in the middle of the street when it isn't too busy. One day, as you're eating lunch with your friend @Skylight Scintillate at Sugarcube Corner, the pony walks in, sits at the bar, and orders a meal. Now is your chance to talk to her...
  20. ---- Basic Info Primary RP Thread: When Worlds Collide - Scifi Adventure RP Type: A moderately directed scifi adventure with combat and increasing stakes. This might be changed to a stat and roll system in the future, I don't know yet. Player Death?: No players will die permanently Setting: Slight AU of Generation 4. Twilight is Co-Ruler of Equestria with Celestia and Luna. Celestia and Luna remain in Canterlot, while Twilight remains in Ponyville. If you wish to apply, reply below Player Character 4 Slot: Gala Attendee 2 - Does not appear yet. If you wish to apply, reply below Language usage: Pony swearing only (aka "buck" and "flying feather") ---- Some notes: The characters will be going to The Gala relatively soon within the RP, within the first day or so, so do be prepared for that It's also okay that you don't know everything about the characters. This first part will be pretty SOL, so just, you know, role-play like you're these characters! And do go easy on me. I've never done an RP in THIS format, and its been years since my last RP Formatting feedback is appreciated in this thread. Anywho, have fun Oh! Send me your character sheets and names for your characters @Silly Druid and @Skylight Scintillate and I'll add them to the OOC post
  21. Well, I think that settles it then! For now, I'll start with you two, @Silly Druid and @Skylight Scintillate. In the future, there can be some opportunities for @Silverspark184 to join, and I believe @Ice Princess Silky <3 said she wanted to join in elsewhere. Besides, it's been years since I've RP'd, so starting with just 2 characters is much easier Anywho, I guess I'll go make the thread I'll ping yall in it (I think that's how that works?)
  22. When I was a kid and was bored in school, I would check out mentally and play my favorite video games vividly in my head. Not hallucinating, just imaginating
  23. So how did I make these? Well, with Blender of course! Well actually, I started out in Medibang Paint, just wanting to draw sketches. Then I went to make a 3D saucer in Blender since I didnt want to have to fiddle with drawing those perfect shapes in Medibang. Buuuuuuut, one thing lead to another and I was making a full 3D scene. The saucer was actually really simple. Just a circle with some extrusions and edge loops. Subdivided a bit to give it more polyes, then random verts on the edges given a different material for windows. The nacelles were just extruded cubes, and the other debris and chunky wrecked ship parts was kitbash assets from Daniel Grove Designs on Blendermarket that I had bought for Dimensional Shift years ago. In fact, for the saucer under the camera, it's just the same exact one! Most of the detail comes from an aztec panel material made by my friend Vinson Visions (he was the friend in the dream at the end!) Everything was rendered in Blender Eevee engine. The next shot was a lot more complicated. The platform design took much longer than I expected, as did the bubble! The shape was just really complex to get nice and smooth the way I wanted it to. And then I didn't even show that! Haha! The granite material is courtesy of poliigon.com! The sheild bubble was another thing. Thankfully Eevee has Transmission settings for its materials. To make it look wiggly like I did, I plugged in some noise to the IOR value. The other glowy bits were just a Wave texture node and a Fresnel node The Twilight model was actually just the Luna model I had put together a few weeks back, but with Twilight's hair and colors reapplied. Animating her in the second shot was relatively simple. I just used noise modifiers on the rotation axis of certain bones: The next one was not so easy, but still worked out! Funnily enough, the room is actually really tiny, but I positioned the camera in ways that it would look bigger It actually took a big more gumption to render this one due to her animations. Specifically, the hair was quite process-heavy, and my GPU was easily going over 100F trying to view it in the viewport. For the final scene, we're back to the first model sets. This time, I modeled some simple nacelles for the camera ship. They arent even attached to it, cause ya dont see that! The Bussard Collectors were just a few spheres layered on top of each other. One was just the metal parts spinning, another was just a translucent material, and the glowy one was just a material made using a Voronoi texture node While I was making this and eventually thought of transitioning it to show the fleet of space stations, I was trying to think of ways to go about making them appear. I really didnt want to do it in After Effects and add a whole lot of render time to make mattes and such. So I just made a sphere with the exact same background texture and used noise to distort its vector input, then I used that same distorted vector input to warp a gradient texture which I just slid across the sphere and used to control the opacity. The space station is just the one I made for my recent animation "A Little Bit of Darkness", used as a particle in a cube. I copied that 3 times to get the density and distribution I wanted, and man did that shoot up the render times! Instead of 2 seconds per frame, it was 14! That's 45 minutes of rendering when you're rendering 176 frames! (because I only made them spawn in right before the opacity swipe on the sphere) And finally, each one had its sound design done in Reaper. I used both effects I made, as well as effects from various libraries such as Series 8000 Scifi Warp 2, The SFX Kit, Boom Library's Scifi Construction Kit, Digital Rain Lab's Lethal Energies, Into Abyss, SilverPlatter Audio's Glitter kit (for the sparkly sounds ), and my go-to for deep booms: Lukas Tvrdon's Distant Blast. I also used VST effects from Kiloheats, Native Instrument's RC48 and Choral, DearReality VR Micro, and Corkscrew by AnarchyEffects. Overall, this took about 16.5 hours of pretty much non-stop work. I was really wanting to get these ideas out there, and I'm thankful to God for the blessings of the resources and skill to do so. Used to be I couldnt do this and would only dream of it (haha!), but now I can, and it's all thanks to His grace! And you can do it too, just keep workin at it, dont give up, and dont be afraid to ask for help from the big G! It takes time to learn skills, and you'll never be perfect, but God made each one of you smart and capable through His grace :3 And I'm thankful He gave me that dream too. I havent had a dream about ponies in a loooooooong time.
  24. Finding the Magnificent and Legendary Alicorn Twilight Sparkle Please note this works on Dream Logic, so details are inconsistent. It was Earth's Star Trek era, humanity was just beginning its major explorations of the galaxy. Many years ago there had been a starship of ponies led by Princess Twilight Sparkle to explore the galaxy. (dunno where the ponies came from, but not from earth??) However, they had been lost to space for a long time, and presumed dead. While Starfleet searched for them, the efforts seemed futile for a long time. But many years later, a highly possible candidate for the lost starship was found, many lightyears away, very far from all civilization. As our vessel approached the wreckage of the ship, we were able to see the saucer clearly. It was cold, but still intact. The other parts of the ship were not so lucky, yet stayed together drifting amongst a nebulaic starscape. Scene 1 Audio0001-0240.mp4 Once we docked with the vessel, scans showed a breathable atmosphere inside, so we gathered a large search party to search the ship. The interior was much larger than the exterior, and nothing like a human starship. Supposedly made with the Magic the ponies possessed. After searching through magnificent structures and winding halls, we reached what seemed to be the center of the vessel, a platform suspended and converging halls and pathways around it. In the middle was a glowing, pulsating shield bubble, and the silhouette of an alicorn, asleep in a fetal position with ethereal hair waving. As we approached, it was clear this was no small creature. It towered over us even in its weightless sleeping state. Scene 1 Audio - 0001-0240.mp4 Deactivating the stasis bubble, the alicorn descended and awoke, her face clearly visible. It was the legendary Twilight Sparkle, last of the alicorns. She was massive, her head about half the size of an entire human body. She looked at us, and then demanded why we awakened her. Scene 3 Audio Export - 0001-0240.mp4 We explained we were here to find her and return her home. She refused, stating she was not going back to the life she had, and she had a responsibility here. Regardless, we said we were under orders. She sneered at us, her canines sharp and fearsome. Through gritted teeth she demanded us to leave before she destroyed us. So we left. Back in our ship, the outside view had changed. The starscape was now almost completely blotted out by space station after space station, all floating and operating in tandem. An entire civilization in space. Scene 4 Audio - 0001-0240.mp4 Regardless, per our orders, we fired a grappling line at the saucer and began to drag it with us at high speed. Unfortunately, it hit a few of the surrounding stations, but was fine. As we continued through the field of ships, what appeared to be massive cityscapes opened up before us This is where things jumped, and for some reason a friend and I were in that area, down on the ground. We knew we needed to leave, but marveled at the fractal ingenuity of it. Below our feet were what looked like tiny forests teeming with life. However, around us was a lavish hotel room, with one window-wall being made from what looked like falling rainwater. Outside of this wall was pure, vacuous space, yet we were kept safe. The entire place was obviously extreme magic, and did not seem to function in any way we were familiar with. I woke up shortly after this.
