The smell of morning dew filled my nostrils as I began my stroll into the woods, its darkened landscape barely lit by the moon's essence. The calm chirpping of the crickets were the only sounds that could be heard. I glanced around ever so slightly, noticing all the beauty that could be in this forest. I may not of known what forest it was, but I knew that it had such a beauty to it that I was struck with awe. As I approached a fork in the forest, I tapped my hoof in thought, wondering which way to go. Come to think of it, I didn't know exactly how I ended up here nor did I quite remember who I was at the time. I decided to take the right path, trotting my way through it. Every step I took, the smell of water and moss became more prominant. The sight of a small lake came into my sights and I almost galloped my way to its location, excited to see such a sight. However, once I arrived at the lake I realized it was a pitiful sight. The entire lake was covered in a dreadful mist and litter.

I gave a low sigh and blew my hair out of my face a bit and leaned closer to the water, hoping to be able to see my own reflection; I was a bit shocked at what I saw. My eyes were dull and full of a lost being, their color a miserable pink. My mane was matted, its snow color diluted into a grey. My coat was a coarse black, covered in the muk of this lake and what seemed to be mud. The more I looked the more my head began to ache. I noticed my wings were not of the feathered kind but more of a webbed, bat-like appearance. I slipped and slid into the water, gasping as its cold embrace covered my entire body. I tried to swim up but my hooves were caught in what felt like seaweed or some tree roots. I uttered a small cry and beat my wings into the water, trying my best to escape. My breaths became shorter and shorter, my power escaping my grasp as I finally broke free. I lingered to the surface, my vision slightly blurry. I was more fatiqued than I had expected. I climbed out of the lake, almost immediately falling to the ground, exhausted. As I clsed my eyes, a stallion came into my vision, the only feature that I could see was his necklace...
