cosplay Cosplay help and ideas

So I started thinking about getting into cosplaying. Right now I have these colors of materials to use:

I also have many scraps of those colors, including black and white pieces.

My main goal right now is to make simple pokemon gloves and hats, but I need suggestions on what pokemon to make using those colors and such.

Also I wanna do some non pokemon cosplays but I have no idea what Nintendo characters to go for. Looking for mostly bad guys/enemies/bosses from Nintendo games

Hello @Gourgeist!  Just so you know, I have moved your thread to the Creative Resources section, as it would be more appropriate there since you are asking for ideas on an ongoing project.

As far as what you can make from those colors, you have quite a few options since you have such a decent array of hues to choose from.  For pokemon, off the top of my head, you can do something such as diglett, gangar, torchic, lucario, sandshrew as well as a bunch of others.

For Nintendo enemies and bad guys, Ridley from the Metroid series was the first thing I thought of when I say the purple, though that may be a tad too complicated and the same thing could be said about Bowser as well.  Still, I do believe you have plenty of options and I do wish you the best of luck with this.

Take care!

First rule of cosplaying: anything can be anything. I like to hunt around thrift shops and flea markets for knick-knacks and just general "stuff" to fill my costumes with. For example, I did a mercenary costume and to create my 'lucky pack' I took a worn out old school backpack of mine, chopped off unnecessaries (extra straps and the like), strapped a bunch of additional 'stuff' to it, and used sandpaper to rough it up a bit. Speaking of which, sandpaper is a GREAT tool for making fabric looks used and worn, or for generally scratching up material.

And another thing, never underestimate the essence of props in cosplaying! Here's a prop DC-15s I made out of a toy. Repainting toys, adding junk all over them, and genrrally figuring out what looks cool is a really fun part of cosplaying.
