Royal Flush was about to answer, when a brute force smacked him in the jaw, and he was sent flying into a group of bushes. He laid there, a bit dazed at first, then quickly used a simple teleportation spell to appear behind Clover's back.

"Quite a kick you have," he said quickly, drawing a light beam card and throwing it at her. It dug into the back of her neck, and the same beam that had blinded Hurricane struck her as well.

 

"That oughta keep you down for a while," he said with a smile, taking another card that was floating around him. He imbued it with magic and it became a green card with a medical cross on it. He crushed the card, and the wounds on his face began to heal slowly. He then turned his attention to Lightning.

 

"Ma'am, I don't know what you plan to do with that, but whatever it is, it ain't gonna stop me."

He then started throwing cards at the shield. There were no tricks with these, they were just surrounded with a strong magical energy, strong enough to make the cards cut through steel.

Hurricane looked at Everlast as he stood over her obviously doing something. She couldn't tell what it was with her blurred vision. Soon, she started to feel better. Her strength was returned and her eyes came out of the thick fog. When the chains were removed, she jumped up and took a second to examine her body. Her body was covered in severe burns and frost bite. Her skin was rubbed raw where the chains were, but she felt normal. She looked down to see Everlast on the ground and shaking from the same pain she went through. When she saw him, anger formed inside her. She looked back at Royal Flush and clenched her teeth at him. A fire of fury grew in her. Hurricane promised herself that Everlast's sacrifice would not be in vain. She grabbed her dagger and flew up high in the sky. Once she got high enough, she flew straight down toward Royal. When she got close enough, she used her built up speed and momentum to deliver a powerful kick to the trickster pony's head. When he was down, she stood over him with her dagger to his throat. Her eyes were filled with a raging fire. She was fed up with his harm to the group. "It would be so easy." she growled referring to killing him. "Give me one reason why I shouldn't."

Royal was once again kicked to the head, and it knocked his hat straight off of him. Soon, he was on the ground, with a dagger pointed right at him. It was obvious that she wanted to kill him. He looked around. All of his cards were scattered around him, but he had one that was sitting right next to him on his right side. The spell he stole from the alicorn. He was dizzy from the impact, but managed to raise his hooves in mock defeat, and when his right hoof reached the card, he quickly threw it at Hurricane, and covered his face. The card exploded when it about to hit Hurricane, and turned into the large magic blast meant for him.

Clover was dizzy from the blow, but she had seen that her kick had gone home. That was something. She struggled as the card hit her, and she fought against the magic from it. Think, think! she raged to herself. Normal magic didn't work against this pony; he'd steal anything she threw at him. Unless... thru the pain, it was as tho a light bulb had gone off in her head. A spell that Princess Twilight had given her in exchange for one she'd made especially for Twilight. It was a strange magic, and it had been in one of Twilight's books. Clover had learned it, cuz it had been given to her as a gift, but she didn't see the use of it. Twilight had simply smiled at her and said it would come in handy one day.

 

The spell was an energy spell, but instead of working against another pony, it was meant to be performed on herself. Clover struggled to keep herself conscious as she thought back to the energy spell, working out the details. The spell, if she performed it on herself, would mean that she wouldn't be able to perform magic for a short time, but any magic of any kind that a pony threw at her would rebound back upon them. Any magic. Even this magic that Royal Flush was using. Clover used the last of her strength to work the spell, even as spots danced before her eyes. Her body was enveloped in a green light, at first hazy, then growing brighter.

 

Once the spell was complete, Clover stood up. The pain was gone, and the card lay at her hooves. Clover glared at it, then pointed her horn at it. Nothing happened, and she remembered that she was temporarily without magic for as long as the spell lasted. Still, she could destroy it with her hooves and she did so, tearing it to shreds. Turning, she gasped. Royal Flush was throwing the card which held the spell he had stolen from her, at Hurricane! The spell she had toned down so it wouldn't kill but it would hurt the pegasus mare considerably, and she now thought of her as a friend. Thinking fast, she threw herself in front of the blast, shoving Hurricane away. Due to the spell she had performed on herself, the blast would hit her and rebound on Royal Flush, but hopefully, Hurricane would be fine.

The shield dissipated rapidly, dropping her to ground, once more drained from the effort. She looked over to see that Hurricane had the attacker pinned down, but he had thrown another magic card at her face...only to watch in horror as Clover jumped in front of it, taking the blow herself. "Oh gods..." she stood up weakly and galloped over to assist in anyway she could. "I may be lousy at magic but I can be a  wild mustang if I want to be!" She snorted at Royal Flush as she charged.

Royal was a bit shocked when Clover flung herself to block the spell, but thought nothing of it at first. He meant to use it on her anyway. However, he was shocked to see that as soon as the spell hit her, it quickly bounced back, coming right at him. He didn't have time to react as the blast hit him, and he flew into the air, landing hard on the ground.

Bliss saw her chance to intiate a charge into Royal Flush. Soon as he landed on his hooves, she ducked her head down as she rammed him into his side, forcing him back and slamming him against a tree with intense force. She backed up once he did and proceeded to stomp him like he were a snake. She remembered her step father Shy Hammer, how he used to take out rattlers who got too close to the house, and would rear up and stomp them without mercy for several minutes till they stopped moving, and that is exactly what she was going to do to him.

As Hurricane threatened Royal Flush, She saw another card flung at her. Everything seemed to happen so fast, but at the same time in slow motion. A bright flash filled her vision as her eyes grew wide in shock and horror. She knew that it wouldn't end well. She stared into the white abyss with fear when suddenly, she felt a force slam into her knocking her feet away. She landed on the ground on her hooves and slid a couple feet. Hurricane didn't hesitate to look back at the phenomena. She felt a large blast that blew wind in every direction and saw Clover and Royal flush obviously both majorly impacted by the hit. She grabbed her dagger and looked to see Royal Flush obviously being dealt with by Lightning Bliss. She had a hard time believing that Lightning bliss would run to Royal instead of Clover. Hurricane approached the alicorn that had taken a huge hit for her. "Clover, you alright?" she asked between breaths.

Enough was enough. This fire siphoning was going too slowly. Gathering energy he has gathered in through his demonic hand, he let it out in one powerful blast of wind. The fire flared up for a moment before, with a woosh, it went out. And he found himself with the most interesting view.

 

There were several ponies- a few of them alicorns- pegacorns?Interesting. One was poised over another pony, a unicorn who looked like a cross between a pit boss in a casino and your stereotypical dashing rogue. How interesting.

 

He said the first thing that came to his mind, all too aware of the negative attention that his demonic hand would bring to him.

 

"Err... am I interrupting anything?"

Bliss had let her primal instincts take over, oblivious to her own surroundings at this point. Flight or fight was in full effect and Royal Flush was clearly still a threat, she wouldn't stop till somepony stopped her or her own strength gave out. She kept her eyes firmly on her victiem as she viciously continued to paw at the card dressed looking unicorn. She smashed his muzzle, to nearly denting his horn, and over and over she continued to paw. She could see blood splurting with every blow, it all seeming to happen in slow motion.

 

In her mind, her herd and family were in danger, the peace threaten by someone who wished to commit acts of murder...and she wouldn't allow it...or she'd die trying to stop it. Needless to say she didn't even hear the demonic voice behind her ask "Err...am I interrupting anything?" and continued to paw on their attacker. Snorting and whinning the whole time, a few tears trickling down her eyes as she continued to go up and down, dropping her weight each time to every blow.

A black mist shrouded him, it was warm but left behind a tingling feeling as well. This was his mind he presumed, but something else was here with him....

"I think we both knew you weren't going to complete that spell." A sudden voice stated, that seemed to come from all around him.

Blaze turned around nervously, "I told you, never to come in here."

"Aww but it's so desolate in that cold blade." The voice replied

"You're in that sword, because you're a pyro maniac. I suggest you return to it now."

"Go back? Oh, now where's the fun in that."

The mist started to absorb into Blaze and seemed endless, he didn't know what was happening.

@, Clover stood up, carefully. She was glad to see that Hurricane was fine. "I'm good," she replied. "I was given a spell by a friend a while ago; it means that any magic that hits me rebounds on the one who sent it. I didn't want you to get hurt, so I pushed you out the way so the spell that stallion stole from me would hit him, not you. The spell I put on me will last a little longer; while it does, I can't do magic."

 

She heard a voice speaking, and turned to face the speaker.

Royal was dazed while Lightning was beating him. Never before had the odds favored the opposition. He bid too high, and for the first time, he was about to lose...

 

Something inside him snapped at the thought of that. He never lost a fight, fair or unfair, and for the first time, Royal Flush lost his cool.

 

"...ENOUGH!" he shouted, a burst of magic energy exploding around him that knocked Lightning Bliss back. He stood up, and threw an ice card at her. Just like Hurricane, everything around Lightning, including her, had almost all the heat sucked from them, leaving Lightning an almost frozen wreck.

 

Royal stood up and grabbed his hat off the ground, and crushed a healing card. His wounds began to heal slowly. Instead of saying anything, he teleported away without another word.

When Royal Flush had escaped from Lightning Bliss' attack, hurricane flew toward him full force, but he teleported away before she could make contact. "crap." she said under her breath after she landed. Then she looked to see Lightning Bliss and Everlast both on the ground being subjected to Royal's torture. She knew she couldn't help them so she looked around only to find that Blaze was being consumed by a strange mist. "Blaze!" she exclaimed as she ran toward him. "Blaze, what's going on?" she asked while staring shocked and confused at the strange sight. Hurricane failed to notice the new stranger joining the scene. "Clover, see if you can help Everlast and Lightning Bliss."

"I will do what I can," Clover replied. The spell she had put on herself was still operating, and she still could not perform any magic. She was glad the stranger had gone, but doubted that they had seen the last of him. She saw the card lying on the ground in front of Lightning, and set to destroy it with her hooves, just as she'd destroyed the one sent to her. With satisfaction, she saw it fall to pieces and the spell dissapate.

 

"That will be the way to fight Royal Flush, should he ever come back," Clover said. "We should not attack him directly, but attack his cards, using non magic methods. Without his cards, he would be powerless. In the meantime, I will raise wards around us whenever we stop to camp."

The words merely flew over his head as his attention shifted to Lightning's apparent murder of... another pony. Interesting. Then, as the pony teleported away, the ice spell dissipated, and everyone started to recover- there were still a few ponies out cold, though- he took a breath and sighed. "Well, that was... a unique experience."

 

Remembering what one of the ali-pega-pony-corns said to him earlier, he smiled and bowed somewhat mockingly. "I am a simple traveler looking for obscure ingredients... but I guess the evil demonic claw stops me from saying that. Oh, well." Walking down, he sighed. "My name is Rax'Mar, and this feels like one of the most awkward things I have ever done to myself, but oh well. Who was that pony that the white and rainbow pony was obliterating physically, and... Oh, is she alright...?

 

((My goal is to make him as awkward as possible right now. That, and I was expecting at least one other person to respond before I continued, so now it feels as if I refused to answer you, Prypiat. :cry:))

@, "His name is Royal Flush and he's a spiteful coward who attacked us without warning," Clover replied, shortly, kicking fragments of the card from her front hooves on to the ground. "Apparently, if he captures us, he'll get his own freedom. He's a fool. Since we're in diamond dog territory, I can only assume that he means the diamond dogs, and they won't free him; they'll just renege on their agreement with him and keep him prisoner along with us."

 

She paused, then decided that it would be best perhaps to introduce herself, and hope that the others would follow her example. "My name's Clover."

Bliss had little time to realize what happened before the magical shockwave threw her aback, forcing her to skid on her hooves. Her insticts to ready on retaliating only were met with a card thrown at her face, slapped to the ground, and suck the warmth of her own body as well as the world around her.

 

"C...cold..." she dropped to her side, throwing her wings around herself as she desperatly tried to keep warm. Bliss loved the cold, her heart leapt at the sight of snow, ice and snowflakes. But with the fact she was raised most of her life in warm climates, and she hardly was experienced in the cold, lead her to a servere handicap of getting sick alot if she stayed cold for too long. She recalled the last time she was exposed to a harsh winter storm while she was on vacation in the cabins with one of her friends, a wolven diplomat. She caught the flu that later turned into hyperthermia... If it weren't for her friend's quick paws, she probably wouldn't have survived. This though she was unsure of what to think...it wasn't cold that one would get from a natural exposure....it was just evil coldness...like all the warmth of the sun and natural heat of her body had been taken from her.

 

Aburptly just when she was starting to think she was going to turn into ice...did she see familiar hooves of Clover, stomp the card that caused her misery, into tiny pieces....She could feel the spell wearing off, but the damage had already been done. "Blan....bla...." she tried to speak out despite the odd being (have no idea what he looks like sorry) oddly introduced himself as Rax'Mar, "blankets...pl...please....blankets...." she curled up tighter in a ball as she tried to encourage her natural body warmth to return.

Royal used his teleport ability to go straight where the Diamond Dogs were hiding. When they saw that he came back without the escapees, they were angry.

"You no capture ponies?!?! You fail us! We take you back now!"

As they walked up towards him, he threw two chain cards in silence, following it up with two more ice cards. He grinned evily at the two nearly frozen dogs on the ground.

"Take me back? I don't think so. This ain't about my freedom now, as I already let myself out of your grasp about a couple seconds ago. Don't know why I didn't do that before, I guess I was too focused on your proposition to think straight. Oh, no, this ain't about freedom. This... is personal."

He walked away from the dogs, and began the teleportation spell once more, predicting the future of a certain pony he had in mind.

That alicorn with the spell shield may serve to be a problem for me, he thought, as his cards began to swirl around him. Looks like I'm gonna need some help... guess it's time I go get my partner back. He teleported away.

((OOC: Yes. I'm gonna introduce yet another villain into the mix. When? I'm not sure. Whenever I feel like I should implement Royal Flush into the rp again. It's fun to rp as him

Without waiting for the other ponies to respond, Rax'Mar walked over and looked at the pony. "Hmm. A Cold Snap spell. Bad, but I've dealt with worse." Taking a breath, he drew the remaining flame energy in his hand to create a layer of warm air that hovered about six inches out from her skin. He sighed as he got it out. "That should help for now. Be careful, any sudden movements will reactivate the spell, dispelled or not, though it won't be as strong. It'll last a few hours, but after you've recovered, I'll see if I can draw the spell out." He turned to the rest of the group. "Well... hmm... how is everyone else doing?"

 

((He looks like a normal pony- almost like a stereotypical archmage- but one of his forearms is a clawed demon hand.))

 

((Also, when he draws the spell out, shenanigans will happen.))

She sneezed abruptly, the cold already had gotten to her, but she was more then relieved when she felt warmth poor over her from the help of the odd spirit like pony that came from no where. Not wanting to challenge his advice, she very carefully and slowly sat up, still shivering, but only from the previous reaction of the spell that caused her to be cold in the first place. The warmth was life saving for her, and a huge relief.

 

"ACHOO!" She sneezed roughly again, "t-thank you....Um...Rax'Mar?" She said back hesitently but gratefully, "forgive a ignorant mare, I dd-do thank you for your help...But just like what Hurricane and Clover said... Who are you? What are you doing here...Or bb-bb-" she struggled to get used to the warmth, "but how...did you even get here?"

Raze looked around to make sure no one else was watching them. 

"In any case, we should probably rest here, seeing as though a couple of us aren't exactly fit to travel at the moment. Clover, get the wards ready. Everyone else, help set up camp." He sighed, and started to unpack slowly.

(OOC, I've been waiting forever for someone else to post, this RP has gone quite and thats annoying. POST PEOPLE COME ON)

 

Bliss abruptly after hearing the group leader, Raze, suggest on setting up camp, she slowly pulled her saddle bags off her back and dug through to find her sleeping bag quickly, along with any apple pie that might still be left. "Not my idea of a...ACHOO," she sneezed again and shivered as she tried to snuggle into her sleeping bag. At this point she felt useless to do much else in regards to setting up camp, feeling cold and growing a bit sick, "camping..." she continued, "but...at least we're all still alive..."

In response to Raze's command, Clover began to set up powerful wards around the campsite that would keep out any threat to the group, regardless of power or species. She charged each ward with magic and it glowed green for a moment before disappearing from sight, but was still there altho it was invisible. Any enemy who tried to walk thru the ward would be instantly knocked unconscious. Despite what she had seen, Clover still wasn't inclined to kill.

The mist disappeared into Blaze without leaving a trace, "Get off me!" Blaze yelled at Hurricane. "I'm perfectly capable of handling any material wounds dealt towards me." Blaze's voice seemed different, almost like an echo, he also wasn't talking straight, at least not like he usually did." He walked off shaking his head and went into the forest.
