[Hurricane 159]

Hurricane had been using her all black coat to her advantage. he had been silently observing Blaze and waiting for a perfect time and way to strike. She saw Lightening Bliss caught in some sort of trap, but realized Steel cam to her rescue. Knowing Lighting Bliss would be ok, she looked around at what she could see in the darkness and saw a couple of sandbags. She silently picked one up with some struggle and flew over above Blaze. She released the heavy weight in hopes to pin Blaze down.

Blaze tilted his head to see the bag coming down on top of him, but before the bag could touch him it smashed into a force field surrounding him. "It's sad really, Pegasi are so unaware of any magic that is present against them. It's almost like they want to believe it's not there. I did not expect however for you to find my first. And for this you deserve a reward." He sat there on the stage with his eyes facing forward saying nothing else and sending Flame pikes up at Hurricane.

Suddenly, Raze and Quickdraw heard the sounds of a struggle in another part of the cinema. They quickly rushed over to where the sound was, and soon found Hurricane engaged in a fight with Blaze. Raze quickly dashed forward, while Quickdraw aimed his gun and started shooting at Blaze.

Everlast Felt rather then heard, Lightning Bliss, get into trouble. However the crackling of flames was an unmistakable sound, and everlast began moving his way towards the struggle. Sure enough Blaze was there, attacking Hurricane. Steel and Quickdraw were already moving to reinforce the fight, so everlast restarted his probing again, looking for the unknown he felt before, Hoping that at the very least he could provide a warning for the ambush. 

 

What he found however made him pause, the unknown wasn't seeming aggressive or preparing for an ambush, more so scared. Oh. OH... I get it know... Not an ambush, a hostage. An innocent. 

 

Hoping that the three moving on Blaze could keep him occupied, Everlast spoke to the other two.

"I apologize for my incorrect statement before, he does not have a friend. He has a hostage. I don't know what use he thinks a captive will be right now, But I would rather not have to find out."

@@Lightning Bliss, Seeing that the others had rushed to help Hurricane, Clover used her magic to levitate the last of the films and mess from Lightning's body. She walked over to Lightning and helped her to her hooves.

 

"Raze and Quickdraw are attacking Blaze," she said. "And Everlast thinks that Blaze has a hostage. He could threaten to harm them if we do not leave. So far, everypony has been attacking the Entity directly, which I don't think is going to work."

 

Clover remembered the story about how Cadance, the Princess of Love, and her husband, Shining Armour, had defeated the queen of the changelings. They had combined their magic by touching horns and the combination of Cadance's love magic and Shining Armour's shield had expelled the changelings from Canterlot. She quickly reminded Lightning of this story.

 

"Perhaps if we do likewise, it might help Blaze break free?" she asked the other alicorn mare. "The combination of your peace and my magic might work where attacking directly might not. Besides, if the others do succeed, they might harm Blaze or even kill him, and then we'd never get him back."

"A direct assault? You lot really are pathetic aren't you." Blaze sat there calm under the protection of the incantation he had cast the night before. The Entity wondered how long it would take them to realize that, hopefully relatively soon. Once they found out about the spell his next part of the plan would go into action, the hostage, and then whatever happened after that happened, but he wasn't going to give up the fight so easily.

"Thank you Steel, that was a close one!" Bliss stated gratefully, "and to you too Clover." She then took notice of the whole situation as well as allowed Clover to explain the situation...Everypony aside from the three of them, herself, Clover and Steel, were engaging Blaze directly...and obviously from his confident boasts, they weren't succeeding in their attacks.

 

After a moment of listening to Everlast's claims and Clovers idea about the hostage and uniting their hours together...Bliss seemed hesitent. She never united her horn with another unicorn let alone another alicorn...and with her magic having a mind of its own...she didn't know what would happen. But one thing was for sure, the hostage was another priority and an unknown one...They would need to secure him or her, wherever they were being held.

 

"We can't unite our horns yet Clover...not till we find this hostage," she finally collected herself. "If we can get the hostage to a safe place...I...I..." she quivered still nervously, "I'll unite horns with you...but I"m scared...I don't know what will happen with my magic if I do...I don't know what it will do to you or the others...to Blaze..."

@@Lightning Bliss, "I don't know either," Clover replied, quietly. "But we have to try. We won't do it now, cuz you're right; we need to find the hostage and rescue them first. We ought to not split up too much, either; if we are alone, then it'll be even harder for us if we are attacked or if we trigger a trap. Maybe we ought to go into two groups and search for the hostage."

Hurricane dodged Blaze's fiery assault swiftly until one spike hit her wing. She fell to the ground landed in her hooves. She quickly checked her wing to see theat fortuantly, the spike only hit the tip of her wing. She could still fly. She faced Blaze with an angry look on her face. She had to figure out what to do about the magic surrounding him. "freakin alicorns." she muttered under breath.

Bliss nodded and got up.

 

"Then let's go, search the area, while they have Blaze distracted!" She quickly galloped out of the booth and headed down the hall. "Now if i were Blaze's hostage...where would I be?" She muttered to herself as she rounded the corner, finding herself in another theater adjacent to the one the others were in. She sniffed the air, it was dull and dusty...as well as seeming to muffle the sounds from the other theater.

 

"If there was a hostage here, we wouldn't be able to hear them," she stated as she lit up her horn again, looking through the rows of seats.

Quickdraw smiled smugly. His distraction plan was working; now he had to keep him distracted. He loaded more bullets and continued to fire away at Blaze, unbeknownst of the incantation at work.

 

Steel charged forward, blade drawn. He flew into the air and swooped down on Blaze, the tip pointed at him.

@@Lightning Bliss, Clover also lit her horn and began to search the cinema with Blaze. "I would expect that they wouldn't be in the main area," she said quietly. "Perhaps round the back, in a place not easily gotten to. Or even, up above..." Clover shivered as she thought of the hostage being tied up and placed up in the ceiling. It would be terrifying for most ponies to be there, unable to move.

Everlast, after telling the two alicorns about the Captive, continued his own search. He backed out of the showroom they were in, and began looking for maintenance halls, they usually go behind everything so if a secret was hidden, one would probably pass it. He was hoping that by preventing Blaze from hiding behind a hostage, they could stop his escape, and finish it here and now. Of course, what would be an acceptable finisher? Does he have to die? Perhaps the evil spirit and himself have been too tightly entwined to end one without the other. There are two other alicorns among us, one of them is the personification of peace, if we have to solve this with violence, we did it all wrong.

With little luck of finding anypony tied up or bound in the row of seats, Bliss decided to fly up into the raptures, hoping to spot any signs of life. The fight could be heard, though muffled, on the other side of the wall in the adjacent theater...but she wasn't too concerned. She knew Hurricane, Quickdraw, Raze and Steel, were more then able of taking care of themselves.

 

The question was, how long could they though?

 

"I'm not having any luck in this part of the theater..." she bellowed to anypony who was able to hear.

"This is really getting boring, to be honest I was hoping for more of a challenge from you all." The Entity looked at all of them with a an accomplished look in his eyes, "I can keep like this forever, but I'm not so sure the hostage will be able to."

The Hostage was on the roof of the other theatre with a painted star on the top of her head. She was screaming but her mouth was covered with a cloth.

Continuing to flutter above the seats, Bliss didn't realize she was about to hit the ceiling till it was too late. A good hardy bump, forced her to hover and rub her head, then turn to inspect what she infact hit.

 

"Darn I need to be more careful..." she muttered to herself and pointed her glowing horn up to inspect the cieling. She heartly felt that her horn must have left a good dent in the wood. To her surprise though...her horn lit up a small hatch...just big enough for a pony to fit through. "A hatch to the roof? I guess pegasi workers who were in charge of keeping up with this place must have used it to get out to tend the roof."

 

She carefully placed her hooves on the door and pressed up using her wing power. It struggled for a moment or two then finally gave way, flipping up and outward. She poked her head out, placing her hooves on top of the roof so only her back side was dangling inside. The air was much fresher up here to her joy, when she turned to inspect the roof...then she spotted the hostage...It was a young mare...gauged and bounded tightly. Clearly she was trying to scream but the gag kept her well from doing that. But she also noticed a rather odd painted star on her forehead.

 

"A star? Why a star? Gah focus Blissy!" She quickly fluttered out of the door and landed inches from it, while bellowing out, "CLOVER! EVERLAST! Here on the roof! I found the hostage!" She then turned and galloped to the mare, standing next to her as she reached for her gag. "Don't be afraid, me and my friends are here to help..."

The Mare looked at Lightning Bliss and her eyes widened with fright. She then started shaking her head violently at Lightning almost as if she didn't want her to get any closer to her.

 

Blaze looked at the roof blankly, his trap as about to be sprung and soon the next phase would begin of his plan.

Bliss could see the fear in the mare's eyes as she reached for her gag. She admitted to being suspicious of the pony's reaction to her aid, and the painted star was another matter entirely. Curses! She thought, why didn't I read up on that book of magical indications Twilght gave me? Stupid...No matter...for all I know this pony did it herself for makeup or something.

 

With that little boost of confidence in mind, she pulled the gag out of the mare's mouth.

 

"There now, that wasn't so bad now was it?"

 

Suddenly a force field triggered around both mares...an omnious familiar fire red and orange color.

 

"NO!" Bliss turned around and proceed to kick through the shield, only for it to throw her back against the hostage mare, singing her back hooves a little. "GAH OUCH!"

 

"I tried to tell you, your Highness!" The mare squeaked from under her, "it's a trap!"

Everlast froze, his connection with Lightning Bliss had been severed. "PRINCESS!" He Turned around, heading for the last part he felt her presence. Problem. that direction was up. Unwilling to destroy the concentration of those in combat and give Blaze yet another advantage, he sent a message to the only one outside of combat who could fly.

"Princess! Fly up. UP! Blaze did something to Lightning Bliss! I can't get to her anymore. You have to save her!"

The Entity looked up at the roof, "Perfect, everything is falling into place." As he said this the shield around fainted. The Entity then spread his wings and flew towards the the roof smashing a hole through the top and landing a few feet away from Lightning. "A simple transition spell, multiple shields was just too hard for this weak body to conjure. Fortunately there are spells even Blaze can do. There are stars all over the theatre, when they are activated by a pony, it will transition from you to the next, and the next. I wouldn't want to be the next one to step on a Star."

@@Lightning Bliss, @@purple.teal, @, Clover shivered as Everlast yelled at her to fly. It was one thing to fly with her friends alongside her, another to force herself into flight in a terrifying situation. "But this is for Lightning, my friend!" Clover told herself, sternly. "I must do this!"

 

However, before she launched herself into the air, Clover took the precaution of performing a shield spell. This would surround her in a protective shield which would repel any spells that the Blaze Entity might throw at her. She could not risk being thrown to the ground and injured. What she would do once she got up there, Clover did not know, but she meant to do something. Maybe the only thing that she and Lightning could do now to try and save Blaze and the hostage... they would have to touch horns and to Tartarus with the consequences. With that thought firmly in her mind, Clover spread her wings and flew up thru the hole that Blaze had made in the roof, arriving just in time to hear the Entity's speech.

Bliss's chest heaved in and out, she was scared but also tired and her back hooves ached from the flaming shield...

 

"What do you mean??" She demanded of the Entity, "what will happen to me and this pony if one of our friends steps on these Tararous evil stars?!"

 

Just then she spotted Clover, flying up through the hatch in a protective sheild of some sort.

 

"Clover look out! Don't touch this shield! It will burn you!" She warned before turning back to the Entity, "Let us out...NOW! And RELASE BLAZE THIS INSTANT!"

"You of all ponies are in no condition to be making orders! I am the one in control, not you! You are nothing but a meddling puppet scrabbling in the dust." The Entity calmed down and sat down on the roof. "As I said, there are multiple Stars in the Theatre. The next pony to step on another star will take the shield covering you, but just who will that be?"

@@Lightning Bliss, Clover landed outside of the firey sheild. She looked over at Lightning. "We now have no choice," she said. "We must do what we discussed earlier."

 

Clover knew that her magic could part the shield temporarily so that she could reach Lightning and touch horns with her, but after that, she didn't know. But there was nothing else they could do. If they hesitated on this, some pony down below could touch a Star.

Bliss snorted at the Entity's cruel remarks and stomped the ground.

 

"What a load of apples," she snorted, "if I was so meaningless...then why go through the effort of making a trap for me and my friends! You fear us you evil spirit... I know you do!" At that though when Clover made her points firmly, Bliss's face turned pale.

 

"Clover... I-I can't put my horn through the shield!" She shook, knowing that was a small reason why she was hesitent to join horns, "I...I don't know if I can...!"
