Celli 4,339 June 16, 2014 #26 Share June 16, 2014 First of all, I would imagine so. Second of all, and I'm not trying to sound harsh, but why would they think about something like that in the first place if they know it's impossible for their race to get into said career? silvadel 1,393 June 16, 2014 #27 Share June 16, 2014 If a pony truly has this problem, they go to Celestia or Luna and they cast the spell that Twilight did to become a breezy. Silvadel, the Pegasus of Insight.

Which really just makes it more tragic. 1 Latest Video: Come On: An Ode To Best Friendship "Says they don't like MMDW or Merriwether Williams: Inb4 Stellafera" - Sugar Cube

Have you ever heard for example tales about land creatures who dream to fly and do things like tieing a pair of wings made of feathers to their backs or launch themselves with catapults and slingshots? I've heard a lot, so why wouldn't similar things happen in MLP universe too? Edited June 16, 2014 by RainbowMau

You've got a point, though.
Keen Blade 64 June 16, 2014 #31 Share June 16, 2014 Well, I've always thought Equestria was depicted as the sort of world where, in such a situation, they would arrive at a different interpretation of their vision or overcome through ingenuity and the help of their friends. I.e., the earth pony might become a pilot or airship captain. And you know, a situation like that would be a great place for a story to start. sweetie bloom 44 June 16, 2014 #32 Share June 16, 2014 Everypony dreams of something like that, but some could achieve acually if they put the effort in. Guessing that any non Pegasus could use aircraft to travel by air and non unicorns being able to make magic via potions. Muffins!
LED Dasher 228 June 16, 2014 #33 Share June 16, 2014 Since Equestrian society is egalitarian, race is not taken into account when determining occupation. However, being a certain pony race can have limitations on the actions that can be performed. Pegasi can't use magic and Earth ponies can't fly, so their activities are limited. Cwanky 17,602 June 22, 2014 #34 Share June 22, 2014 Just so people don't get the wrong idea, Yea the show does have an example of somepony who would rather be and live the life of an Earth pony, so please don't pity them as some sort of inferior race. The likes of Applejack and Pinkie are quite happy and skilled in their own ways at what they do. Moreover a lot of times broken dreams often come down to a lack of talent irregardless of race and often enough foolishness. I have come to learn that myself. Some of us aren't built or made for sports, or politics, or whatever. Far too often we get in over our heads and try to be someone we're not, when there's other better avenues for us to pursue our interests and goals. Fluttershy won't ever be an athlete flyer at the level and intensity Rainbow Dash because simply that isn't who she is, not necessarily because a lack of flying ability. Likewise you can't expect Twilight to be a skilled fashionista like Rarity or Rarity a scholar like Twilight. If there was any meaningful takeaway from Magical Mystery Cure, and moreover Simple Ways its that - know yourself and follow what you know is true. Focus on the ability and traits that define you.
