PinkieDash debate thread

Since Forlong seems to have stopped doing these every Monday, I will take over from now on. So, it's that time once again. And this time, it's my main OTP, PinkieDash. Here's what I have to say. I actually always loved this pairing. Heck, I've even got them as my current desktop wallpaper! There have been some ship teases (well, I call them ship teases; TV Tropes hasn't made a single mention of a PinkieDash ship tease at all in their episode recaps) and here are my reasons why they should be together:
* If Rainbow Dash = Sonic the Hedgehog, then Pinkie Pie = Amy Rose.
* Arrange the names of the Mane 6 in alphabetical order. Who comes after Pinkie Pie?
* Although other ponies have called her this, I feel that "Dashie" is Pinkie Pie's pet name for Rainbow Dash.
* Of all character-centric episodes focusing on a Mane 6 character, both Rainbow Dash & Pinkie Pie have the most episodes. And by that, I mean the exact same episode count.
* When you think about it, Pinkie Pie's closest friend out of all the Mane 6 is Rainbow Dash.
* PinkieDash be traced as far back as "Griffon the Brush Off", in which the pair enjoy playing pranks on others.
* They're seen mostly together in "Over a Barrel", and later on in the episode, Rainbow Dash is seen with a "wingboner" during Pinkie Pie's song.
* During "The Heart Carol" in "Hearth's Warming Eve", Pinkie is seen hugging Dash, while the others just have a hoof around their shoulder.
* In "The Super Speedy Cider Squeezy 6000", look who's comforting Pinkie after it seems the Flim Flam Brothers have won. And at the end of the episode, look who gives Rainbow a mug of cider.
* They're paired up together in the very first story arc of the comics.
* The "Wonderbolts Academy" episode. Need I say more? Apart from the fact that Merriwether Williams wrote both the aforementioned episode and Hearth's Warming Eve. So, I dunno, maybe she's a PinkieDash shipper herself.
 
 
There was very little PinkieDash in season 4, so I'm very disappointed. So here's hoping for plenty of PinkieDash in season 5! Especially if Merriwether Williams returns. Cos if she's writing eps for season 5, I hope it's got PinkieDash in at least one of them.

I think that any shipping is okay, especially this one. For them to get together, it needs to be expanded more.

I don't think Pinkie Pie has a best friend. She seems to be friend with almost everypony in Ponyville. But I think she likes all of them equally (the mane 6 a bit more obviously). Edited June 16, 2014 by Blobulle

I don't want to see them together because it would be a huge change to the show dynamic, and I'm scared that big of a change could mess up what is a really good show. Because one of the big differences in MLP:FiM from other little girls shows is that there is very little romance, and MLP:FiM has spawned the brony community. Also, a lesbian pairing, while I myself have nothing against it, could get Hasbro in big trouble because unfortunately LGBT rights are not yet at the point where it's 'appropriate' to have such people/ponies in childrens television.

Although if you just mean as a friendship, that'd be great. In my opinion, they're the two funniest characters in the show, and I enjoy comedy a lot, so it'd be hilarious to have them as just friends who spend an extra amount of time together.

I can see how people ship it. There's only one problem I have with this ship. If Rainbow is with Pinkie, then who is with Fluttershy? (Yes, I ship FlutterDash.)

 

Anyways, this ship is decent. It's better than some other ships out there. (FlutterMac, for example)
