At the end of A Canterlot Wedding Cadence says that her love will restore Shining Armor's powers. You dismiss it as a ridiculous sentiment.

Queen Chrysalis: [chuckling] What a lovely but absolutely ridiculous sentiment.

 

Yet you derive all your power from feeding on other ponies' love, so surely you must have known that this was a legitimate threat to you? Or were you bluffing?

I was not aware that ponies could harness the power of love. I knew Mi Amore Cadenza was the Alicorn of Emotion, however I was only aware that she could form love and use it to control and pacify others. I wasn't informed that she could use her unicorn paladin husband who was, five seconds ago, under my total control, to create a magical love laser.
