request I lost ideas on OC colors.

So I already have a few facts:

-Based off of myself. (Go see my page if you want better info.)

-Unicorn.

-Long and slightly untrimmed hair.

-Cutie mark is a blue film symbol.

-Wears a russian fluffy ear hat.

Then for the colors, I usually get uninterested after a bit once I think of some or just throw 'em out the window if I think of some random colors.

Anyone have a good idea?

Is there a certain country's flag that you happen to like? That could give you some ideas.

First thing that came to mind was using the Russian flag colors (blue, red, and white), but I'm sure that's not what your really looking for. Since you like video games, why not use a color scheme from the cover of your favorite video game?

If it's based off yourself, how about using your favourite colour(s)? You could even go with your own hair and eye colours if you wanted, although bright, unnatural ones usually work better for the ponies.

 

If that doesn't work, photographs can be really helpful in terms of colours, especially skies/sunrises/sunsets. Objects around you can also be examples of possible colour schemes. Just remember that inspiration is everywhere!

 

dusk.night's suggestion is good as well! It's really easy to experiment and play around with colours on Pony Creator, and eventually you'll probably find a colour palette that you like!

I think I made a scheme.

-Lime green eyes. Inspired by the large use of them in Bionicle.

-Cyan fur. MegaMan inspired.

-Orange mane stripe #1. Half-Life inspired.

-Dark green mane stripe #2. DOOM inspired. (Armor.)

I hope the scheme doesn't look uninspired or obnoxious. If you want, you could draw my OC.

It looks pretty good, although I wouldn't call it an emulation of me if I were a pony. 

The grey part makes it seem a bit generic as I see a lot of OCs with black or grey.

But hey, I could put it to the side for now and name it "HEV" since it looks like the suit from Half-Life.

Fair enough. I think people have to use Grey properly, I hate when I see Grey mixed with only one other solid color. (This excludes Derpy, as it seems to fit the blonde mane and her cutie mark, if she had a different Cutie Mark or Mane Color, it would look rather ridiculous.)

 

Also...I'm rather ashamed I hadn't made an OC with that Color Scheme earlier. I think it's a brilliant color scheme. The idea isn't fresh now, the color scheme belongs to you, my friend. xD

Even though I think using pony creator is as cheap as crap, I only used it to make a sampling of what my OC would (sorta) look like.

Something to note is the fact I changed the cutie mark. I did this to show I'm not just good with video editing, but a lot of computer stuff in general. So, I chose a hexadecimal code that says "K" which is supposed to be from my username, which is also it's name: Kilobyte Writer.

Also, I made the colors have more "ice" color to it.

It's being in the works. But since it's based off myself, it shouldn't be too big of a problem.
