That still strikes me as an odd scenario. I feel like there should be more of an indication, like something happens to the heart that lures everyone to it.

It was a dark time for them and would probably freak out if you asked them it in real life.

I think there are too many people in this to make it an accident, it should activate and light up causing everyone nearby to be sucked in. It's not big enough for actual contact to be necessary or even possible for everyone at once.

It would be more plausible if just one pony crashes into it. Then it will activated and light up and transport us. If It transports us on it's own there probably is a reason...

I can follow that, it's just having everyone touch it at the same time that seems odd. Amber's pretty drunk, I can have her knock it over and then everyone will blame her and hate her for sending them back in time.
