When Mane 6 violate their elements

Do you remember any scene when any of the Mane 6 did all the opposite their element of harmony dictates?

I guess the clearest of all was Fluttershy in "Putting Your Hoof Down"

Pinkie Pie being sad in "Pinkie Pride"

Mmm I think Party of One is better example or her acting serious in the Pinkie Partypolooza book.

As for the others

I can't really think of a good disloyal moment for Dash outside of her HUGE goof in Trade Yah.

Twilight in ever episode she messed up her magic or if you feel her magic is more related to empathy and friendship, then Feeling Pinkie Keen until the end of the episode is a good one.

the only pony that does not violate her element is Twilight because she is best pony after all.

I don't see how could Twilight violate her element: the element of magic.

There are a few others I can think of. She dumped her friends to go racing off after Daring Do, and then wanted to abandon her to Ahuizotle because she was depressed. She left her friends again when Discord was sick and she didn't want to deal with him. She took a bite of the cake Pinkie Pie was really protective of in "MMMystery". "Rainbow Falls" is also full of conflicts of interest for her, but I think that was justified, since it was the point of the episode.

Rarity in 'Rarity Takes Manehattan'

RtM was at the same time one of her finest moments though. And i think we can forgive her for her little freakout, seeing that Suri betrayed her it is rather understandable that she would think that everypony would exploit her generosity. Especially because the mane6 did so in the past already.

Could you maybe expand on that a little? What specifically are you focusing on?

Just how she wasn't giving her friends anything in return after they helped her loads. She just ditched them and didn't say thanks for

what they did for her

I do agree with that. She was great in the episode

Oh how could I forget all of those.

Oh I remembered a good one for Twi, in Testing Testing her comments at Dash to me showed a lack of friendship do to their cruel nature, plus needing Flutters to intervene thus Twi not able to catch herself.

Oh and bats, since not only did she mess up the spell she also joined in fear mongering song as well as pressured Fluttershy into doing something she was not comfortable with.

And now thinking back on Rainbow Falls, Twi once again fails in friendship with her guilt tripping Dash and being unhelpful in her comment when Dash was having a huge crisis of character.

Side note: I think it's a good thing they sometimes violate their elements, otherwise they would be unidimensional characters.

Well yeah. I don't know why the fandom has such an obsession with calling the mane6 out on "violating" their element.

The show is about learning lessions of friendship, and everybody fails in that sometimes, especially people in real life. The mane6 always learn from their errors. Their failings make them sympathic and likeable. They grow stonger through that...

Sometimes i think there are some people in the fandom that want the mane6 to be some unfailable mary sue characters. I see so often people that say that in their opinion their favorite mane6 fails her element the least, as if that would be a good thing. That is actually a bad thing for that character.

We should stop bashing ponies for failing in their element, and start celebrating when they do the right thing in the end,, and learn their lessons.

Seeing how powerful the elements are, it would be kinda cool if they had more of an effect, rather than just when a bad guy shows up, we put on our necklaces/crown and zap your ass.  Like maybe, if they violate their element, something happens.  I have no idea what.  Maybe, um, they slowly start turning to stone until they fix it or something.  Naw, that prolly wouldn't work.  But something, maybe.

That actually sounds like a really good idea.

If they willingly disobey their element while wearing them, then there should be some consequence.

This way, if something happens (Like how in Season 2 premiere Discord was influencing them, so they elements wouldn't have negative effects in that situation.)

they wouldn't have a negative effect that way.

She gave her friends their own VIP viewing of the Opera. She was literally willing to stay and make costumes in Manehatten just so she could repay her friends.

What do the rainbow eyes have to with that?

And thats again a great example of how people see Rarity. In that episode she did a huge, HUGE amount of generous things, but for some people that does not count for shit as she did one selfish thing because of emotional duress, something usually everybody could relate to. I think everybody lashed out on their friends in their life and felt bad about it.

If Fluttershy calls her friends worthless it is ok, because evil Iron Will is at fault. If Rarity lashes out against her friends because she thought they would exploit her generosity like Suri did, something they did in the past already, Rarity is a stupid selfish female dog.

Lets just ignore all the good because of one completely understandable bad thing she did.

Am i the only one who sees the hypocrisity of the fandom here?

Point taken, I didn't see it like that.

Pony: Applejack

Episode: Suited for success

When Rarity asked if they liked the dresses.

Applejack said YES when she really hated it. Rainbow Dash was the honest one there.
