it was the best animation movie i've EVER seen i even cried at some parts i just couldn't hold it :')

Amazing sequel. I already loved the first movie, but this was just fantastic. It progressed the story in an awesome way, and the cinematography was just jaw-dropping.

I didn't expect it to be so good! From the scene at the beginning with Hiccup flying with Toothless I was hooked. Without giving away too much, I was surprised at how mature/dark a certain part of the film was

It was a fantastic film. A real treat for kids and adults with little problems I admit that. But regardless, its a great film none the less.

All I have to say is this has been an amazing year for sequels that surpass their predessecors in every way.  Well, except for The Amazing Spider-man 2.  Shame on you Sony.

 

How To Train Your Dragon 2 was superb.  It literally took every aspect from the original movie, and increased the quality.  The movie is able to do more with the characters because we got to know them in the first movie, so here we got to see them doing more and having more natural moments.  Hiccup's development has been excellent since we first met him, and the sequel take him even further.  The family dynamic was masterfully handled because (finally) the writers knew that they didn't need to create "drama" just for them to slowly get back together.  Hiccup's family is the type of family everyone should have, where the love and bond between one another makes you see past the unecessary question and just makes you happy to be seeing eachother again.  I was really afraid Stoic would revert a bit back to his close-minded self, but luckily he never lost the development he gained in the first film.  If there's one thing I could choose to keep in the entire movie, it would be the family dynamic.

 

Everything else is easily up to part.  The action is fun and fulled with tension.  We're introduced to new characters who grow and we learn about their tragic history.  The movie doesn't pull any punches when it comes to be taken seriously neither.  It's hard to really describe what I loved about the movie because I loved the whole thing.  It transends it's genre and because something more and I can't give enough praise for it.  I just wish people would go see it because it's underperforming at the box office.  Hopefully Dreamworks knows they have something good and continue the series.  Though let's not wait four years to make a sequel next time, okay?

I need to remember to watch the sequel, I remember how much I loved the first one in 2010/2011 (I can't remember which one :3). I haven't had enough time lately with the fact I'm going on vacation soon. I will before school starts again though First one was awesome, hopefully when I watch HTTYD2 its twice the awesomeness
