"Thank you," Bliss chuckled, not at the tic but the sweet comment. Usually it was something her husband Nights Hoopla would say. The thought actually made her sulk a bit, knowing he didn't want to attend this time. She remember it being something on the lines of him transforming into his draconequus self, in the midst of the galla and causing a scene. She shrugged it off though and merely smiled that she was making a friend, and wasn't going to be alone for the evening. "I love your accent," she continued, "you're not from Ponyville or Appleloosa are you? I ask cause your accent is so colorfully rich... If I had to guess, you are from some bayou?"

 

She grinned hoping she got it right, "I never did get a chance to visit such a place. I mean I've been to the Everfree Forest a time or two to help with negotiations between some diamond dogs and forest dragons, but I never got to see the swamp area. I was born in Cloudsdale, but raised most of my life in Appleloosa, back when I was..." she flexed her wings a bit, staring at them for a moment remembering what she used to be, that she missed quite a bit, "when I was a pegasus." She finished with a hint of sadness.

Belle blushed a little, she's never been complement on her accent before. "You guessed it right, ami. I was born and raised in a small bayou town near froggy bottom bog. It-Shit! It's a nice place you ain't afraid to get some swampy water on ya fur. "She chuckles a little. "And I've met wi-Bitch! I've met with a few diamond dogs in my time, but never a dragon." She noticed that Bliss seemed a little sad. "Are you alright?" Her head twitched to the left a few times while she let out a grunt.

"Oh," she rubbed her head a bit when Belle asked her wellbeing, "yes I'm ok, just a bit annoyed at the fact I had to...attend this gala in the first place. I guess you can say I was firmly requested..." She shrugged knowing it was Luna who begged her to attend. "To be honest I don't like being what I am...an alicorn I mean. Sorry I won't lie." She answered promtly, "I used to be a pegasus back in the day...But, things have changed obviously," she added gesturing to her horn.

"That's magnificent!" She pulled out her notebook, quill, and ink, levitating it all next to her. "Do you mind if I make a few notes? I think your magic is just wonderful! Could I ask you a few questions?" Her excitement was visibly growing on her face. "Sorry if I seem a bit forward, but you really do have an extraordinary talent! I wouldn't miss your show for the world, you needn't worry about me being faint-hearted. Besides, I quite like dragons."

"My my, it is rare for me to find somepony so interested in my show, so yes, you may ask away, and im glad you are not afraid of dragons." As mirror image says this, an illusionary dragon appears, a small one, but still a dragon, and breaths a puff of sparkling flame.

Eloquence squealed at the illusion, positively beaming. She trotted into the gala with her newfound companion, exercising her practiced talent of writing, walking, and talking all at the same time. "I think you're just being modest." she teased. "You must have more fans than that if you were invited to perform at such a prestigious event." She thought for a second. "I think the first thing I'd like to know is how you decided to start practicing your illusionary talents. What started you down the path of your special talent?"

 "You don't hav-Prick! You don't have to be here if you don't want to. I know that I don't kno-Bastard! I know I don't know how you became an alicorn. She smiled again even though the right side of her face twitched a little.

"Well, the thing is, i didnt figure out my talent, very easily. I was fourteen, and doing an odd job when i needed a way out, so an illusion was my best bet. You see, i struggled with basic spells, but illusions, those i could do. This particular illusion looked like somepony who mattered far more than i did, but it was a flawless replica, and i discovered i had a talent for it. Since then i was a street perormer and finally started working onstage in ponyville, then somehow i got invited here. Not much to tell really"

"Sweet Celestia... that bird. My apologies." She trotted after the ill-behaved creature.

Laughing, Mirror Image follows her, "well, if youbwant to know, i have to ask, how much if this is off the record? Because my past is a little unsavory. But it was a mandatory life, and before it gets into your pretty little head, no, i never hurt anyone, and i no longer lead the lufe i used to."

Especially not anyone at that table?"

Q.Once Mirror Image felt it was private enough, he ataryes talking. "So.... completely off the record. When i was young, my family was very poor, and i was kind if crap at magic, so i was bullied alot. I wanted revenge so i stole my tormenters prized possession, and sold it for money for my family. And after that i started as a theif, i became a master theif. As such, i eventually got an "odd job". That was to aquire a rare artifact. I dont even remember what it was, but i almost got caught, whoever she was, the mark was very protective. To escape i had to create an image, something to draw suspicion away rom me, so i made an illusion of a rival thief and made my getaway. Thats when i earned my cutie mark, and when i became a street performer working up to become a stage performer that i am now."

"I suppose I could stop..." she lowered her head then, feeling more guilty then anything, "but then what about all the other beings of this world, who need my help and advice in keeping the peace in their lands?" She turned to the special gifted earth pony Belle, "I know it's easy to say 'they can deal with their own problems', but if I was chosen to help in keeping the peace within Equestria...then who am I to say 'I Don't Want to Do it Anymore'?"

 

She nodded then, realizing she was being selfish and ungrateful in what she does as an alicorn.

 

"You see," she explained to Belle, "I'm the Alicorn of Peace...and other clans, kingdoms, tribes, packs...empires even, count on me to help them in their negotiations...Especially if it involves other sentient beings not getting along with each othere. It's how I became an alicorn in the first place..." She thought back to her ascention, and her big wedding day, "It was on my wedding day... That a war broke out between my husband's clans...the Draonequus, and the gryphon Empire to the east. It nearly broke into a war of fear and hate between two different...three different beings if you count us equines...But somehow, something within me...told me I had to prevent it some how. And to this day I don't know what really happened, the land united with me in a power inside somehow, encouraging a realm of peace and serenity, long enough for everypony to calm down and see through their fear and anger. A peace treaty was made between the draconequus and the gryphons and order was restored. And then I married my husband. He's a draconequus you see... My sweet Nights Hoopla."

"Well even back then, i could not stand te fact that i did these things. It was despicable. But at the time, it was also necessary for survival. My family mattered more to me at that time." As he says this, he creates an illusion showng different events, including the final steal.
