“News! A team of geologists discovered a mined out city deep inside a table plateau! While digging for samples, they accidently destroyed the top layer of the plateau, revealing some sort of cave city within it. This apparently abandoned city with its massive tower now attracts groups of adventurers and researchers. Additionally, a royal mission has been dispatched to clear the origins of strange habitat. The Daily Bagel will keep you informed!”

So it says in the newspaper. Upon further research you will find out more about the city called Skyreach. They created an entrance at the bottom of the plateau, leading to a set of stairs and ramps, leading down to the ground level of the city. The descend is about a 1600 feet and should not be tried by flying. The currents in the chasm-like city only allow flight outside the chasm or close to the ground. The city itself is carved into the perfectly round chasm. Houses, balconies and bridges decorate the walls of the pit. The most interesting feature of the city is the Spike, a large tower that nearly reaches up to the top of the plateau. It is in a cone shape, covering half the ground at the bottom and leading to a small ball at the top. It has neither windows nor doors except an entrance at the bottom. First reports talk about a vast labyrinth inside the Spike, guarded by rock and earth golems of various kinds.

Other than abandoned hovels and living quarters mined into the wall, the first explorers found vast libraries covering multiple levels and the inactive golem forges. Some golems still roam outside the Spike, but less hostile and mostly busy fixing structural problems of the city. Some sort of moat runs around the Spike, but various bridges connect the island of the Spike with the rest of the city. Fresh, drinkable water runs through it, leading from one end of the city through the ring moat to the other end. With the large attractiveness of this exploration site, merchants and provisional inns set up at the top entrance, supplying eager adventurers with food, drinks and other tools and equipment.

What secret does the city hold? What dangers lie deep within the Spike and what secret lies at the top end of the labyrinth? Who build the city and where did they go? A lot of questions mark the discovery of Skyreach. Will you be able to answer them or be happy with whatever else you can take from the remains?

|-----| Rules |-----|

I do not like to give too many restrictions, especially on my first RP here. I guess the theme and plot should be clear by now, so what should be considered when exploring Skyreach?

1) No OP, no alicorn and no power fantasies. Weaknesses are part of our personality, and no OC will instantly die from a little bit of balance. It will make your character and the story even more interesting that way!

2) Danger ahead! The main enemy may be the golems in the Spike, but other adventurers (ponies and other non-equine races) will linger around aswell. Skyreach is large and when you are not in the Spike, a massive wall of houses, rooms, stairs and structures wait for exploration and can throw challenges at you - if you let them happen.

3) Why is the story called Moonfall, when the city is named Skyreach? Well, that is the secret to be uncovered!

4) There will be various NPCs. I created some for story-relevance, but other NPCs like rival adventurers can be created, harmed and if necessary killed by you. The story NPCs however are not to be harmed or killed unless we agreed on it.

5) However, you can use the story NPCs freely, if used for the current moment. If you want a prolonged interaction with them, I ask you to announce that on the future OOC thread. How they react and behave can be taken from their personality (or simply asked). I do this kind of NPC handling for the first time, so let's experiment and see how it turns out.  :derp:

|-----| Classes |-----|

I am also new to the classes system that is common here, so let's see how this works out as well! I will give you some sort of "element" to build your character around. The more creative, the better! Your "positive" element can maybe be achieved by "negative" means and vice versa! I also allow some sort of retinue, like a second character, a mechanical or an animal companion. Also, you may choose to be part of the royal mission. I personally will choose what is left at the end, so first come first served!

Well, the long scheme remains a mystery to be discovered. But on the short run, these rolls set a kind of theme to orient a character around. How to accomplish the theme I leave to everyone for themselves to figure out. Let's just call it a test of creativity?

I am intrigued. Here is the character I will use,http://mlpforums.com/page/eqw-characters/_/approved/silver-tongue-r172. could you recommend a class for support characters? This will be my first action RP, so I hope you don't mind the noob that forgot to refresh the detect life spell.

What isn't vain is good for your brain. What isn't rotty is good for your body. While art is good for your heart, good people are good for you.

Blue Thorn

Limbo Dreams

Gold Dust can be found here

and my other OC Silver tongue can be found here

Silver Tongue would actually be perfect for either the Hunger or the Incomplete role. I hope you had the idea as well. ; ) Choose one and take a minute to ask yourself how either of these motives could affect your character and what his purpose in exploring Skyreach might be.

Stronghammer is fine for the role. Let's see how you will use the Architects role on him.

However, I cannot agree on Rampart Charger - not for the role, but with his backstory in general. If you like to use him, I would prefer him to have a separate backstory related to the events of this play, something more akin to the common lore. But I do accept a "Peace through power" mentality, so maybe this will satisfy you?

Two more to go! If not, we still can start this play and see if anyone wants to jump on midway or anyone of you wants to introduce a second character!
