BYU Bronies and Mormon Bronies!

So, I thought I'd put this out here. I was surprised to discover the host of an awesome RP was Mormon, and got pretty excited about it, when I realized; "hey, maybe there's even more than I thought, and maybe some of the people on these forums even go to my same university?"

 

So just an FYI for the bronies of these dispositions, there's a facebook "Latter-Day Bronies" group https://www.facebook.com/groups/338009252913711/

 

Also, I founded a BYU Bronies club. It's got a facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/byubronies/ , which is really where the bulk of planning and stuff happens, and it's got an official website. http://chinchillax.com/byubronies/

 

So I'm kind of surprised by this development. How many of y'all are Mormon and/or attend BYU? I'm home for the summer, but will be attending this fall/winter, hopefully (some small chance health issues will keep me from it, but no a lot).

I dunno. Feel free to make one, I just started talking about Mormons. Being part of a small group that has unusual views/values tends to form a feeling of community, which is why we tend to reach out to other Mormons. Bronies do the same thing to other bronies, too, that's why these forums exist

I feel that I can gain more knowledge if I'm not going there. The atmosphere there is pretty depressing I think.

 

There are other reasons also that I don't like there here is couple:

 

• Some people force their kids there and spank them if they aren't quiet and I think that is pretty disturbing.
• I was bullied there
• They teach same things over and over again in classes never going any deeper

I'm pretty shy so I don't talk much and I think everyone sees the actions that happen there but maybe they are just used to it. Or maybe it has changed I haven't been there for 10 years, but as far as my father tells me nothing has changed. Also there aren't many new members joining the church maybe 1 new member for every 3 years.  I think that is because the atmosphere is so low there. There are also many inactive members and only half the members sing at songs and things like that.

Wow. That's pretty bad  -_- Then again, you do live in Finland, I don't know how much of a difference that makes but it might. You should move XD. I wish your church was more like mine, mine is practically the exact opposite of that ...it's sad that yours is like it is.

I wish too I would love to be in church but it makes me sad because I can't share my thoughts there because everyone is so cold there. It sometimes feels that maybe I should try to get the atmosphere better but it seems hopeless. There are like 6-8 commissioners from america all the time at our church but it isn't helping. People there talk shit about them behind their backs and that disgusts me. I see that the commissioners are so kind and warm but my church is cold and hard .

I'm also LDS! Though I'm pretty far away from BYU. I'd love to go someday, but it all depends on funding.
