Nicholas nodded as the last of them finished demonstrating. "Interesting. I'm sure you'll all do just fine here. Now, if you could all come with me, there are some formalities you need to take care of so you can live here." He led them to a large, official looking building where they were made to fill out various paperwork. Eventually he led them from there on a tour of the various major locations in the city: the research institute building, city hall, a corporate high-rise belonging to Payne Enterprises, the city's largest and most influential corporation, who had their hand in pretty much everything, and a handful of other locations.

 

Finally, they stopped at a large hotel. "This is as far as I'm supposed to take you. The staff here have already been informed that you'll be staying here tonight, as all new arrivals do. The first night is free. After that, you'll have to figure out a living arrangement. I have to go, but if you have any questions, or need anything, just ask around for Nicholas Jackson. It won't take you long to find someone who can direct you to me."

@@Pripyat Pony, I looked at the bone coming out of her unfazed, gruesome was what I did to sedate my urges to kill. I started to work in the LMPD so I could know how the police operated, and keep my ass out of their cross hairs. I grimly remembered my first kill, no it was a murder, I was on a date with my girlfriend one minute then she was dismembered the next. That was when I realized that I could not simply resist the urge, I had to indulge it. (Reflection FTW)

'Wow.' Zen thought when he saw just how well Louise could control her bones. She looked kind of demonic now, yet still kind of pretty. Zen shook his head for a second, 'Where'd that come from?' He decided to just ignore it and walked up to Louise again. "So what do you plan on doing after this first night?" He asked, pulling up his hood again so that it covered his hair and his eyes.

Nico was amazed at what the others could do. Not feeling squeamish in the slightest, he looked at the hemomancer with interest as well as the osteoshifter. "This is definitely an interesting group." Nico said aloud. He took the mouse off his shoulder and cupped his hands around it. Concentrating, he morphed it back to the Cube he was playing with earlier. Nico looked up at the building and wondered what he would do tomorrow about living arrangements.

@@Dji, "I have a job in the Local police department ready for me, tomorrow I'll do the paperwork and such then hunt for an apartment." I explained grateful that the LMPD police chief  got me the blood analyst job here when he called in a few favors and pulled some strings.

Rikku strode along silently. She hated hotels and was loathe to sleep in one. If permanent living arrangements werent already made for them, she wondered how many homeless metas there were on this island.

 

She broke off from the others and went to procure her own place to stay, where she could cook her own meals and begin a new chapter of her life. Hopefully, there was a florist or something like it. She could offer to be someone's gardener for room and board too.

 

Tora popped her headphones back on and swirled into the hotel, getting prepared to crawl over every inch of this place until it was memorized "Gotta go go go..." she sang to herself.

Gale glanced at Nico, and shrugged. "I should have enough money to afford a month's rent at a decent hotel, not that I'll need it for long. I may try to get a job at the research institute." She said. The teen knew that she was smart, but it wasn't enough to be considered a power. It was more of a result.

"Bum, bum, bum. Mr. Sandman, bring me a dream" Detru muttered to herself, carrying a bag of groceries with her. The shop keeper was much tougher than one would expect. Still, Detru got her way eventually, and left the shop with some food to hole up inside of her new lair. Upon entering her new home, she placed down her food and looked out the window. Oddly enough, she was the youngest of the group sent to the island, not old enough for a proper prison. Detru smirked as she closed the windows and began spewing the deadly mist from her mouth. Anyone who entered here within a day would have nothing to breathe. Perhaps a mercy in the grand scheme of things

@, I mentally winced at the idea of renting a hotel room instead of getting an apartment, but it was late so I did not worry about it, instead keeping it in the back of my mind to deal with later, maybe I could get a two bedroom apartment and we could split the costs. I realized what I was thinking and prevented myself from blushing. "Well we should get our rooms and get ready to sleep, at least we got to explore the island."

Gale blushed slightly and nodded. "I wouldn't mind sharing a room with you. It would certainly be easier than trying to find a room for myself." She said. The teen knew the implications that accepting his offer would bring, but she didn't think it would be that big of a deal. "It's not like I can't stop him if he tries anything I don't like." She thought to herself.

As Gale and John talked amongst themselves, Nico waved bye and went ahead to rent a room for himself. If it's free, he wasn't complaining. It would be nice if he could get a job as a technician here. That way he would be around the things he loved most. Heading up to the room, he played with his Cube and wondered about tomorrow and what would actually happen.

@, "That would work, and it would make life financially easier on both of us." I tried to push the many other implications of my statement away further back in my head. "Lets make sure we get a two bedroom apartment." I added trying to clarify my intentions.

Gale nodded and began to walk towards the hotel. "Come on. We don't want to be the last ones to get a room if we're going to stay together." She said, loud enough that only Shadow could hear her. She was also praying to whatever god there was that they wouldn't have to stay in a room with one bed.

I walked up to the staff and gave her my name and Gail's name, they nodded and said that the room would be room thirty-eight, I shrugged, we walked over to the room and opened the door after sliding the key card through.

@, Louise slowly pulled the extra parts of her skeleton back inside herself before answering. "I hadn't really thought of that," she said. "I'm sure I could find someplace. I've had to look after myself for most of my life, after all. I'm good at making the best of things."

 

Louise was in fact an accomplished thief, housebreaker and mugger. She could unlock a door simply by morphing a finger bone to fit the contours of the lock, and could terrorise a passerby into handing over their money quite easily. Any house that she broke into would have no trace of her presence when searched by police. In any case, Louise, tho she didn't plan to stay on the island for the rest of her life, thought that there might well be opportunities gained by finding out anything there was to learn.

As soon as the guide left,Victor parted from the rest of the group. The research institute had guaranteed him an apartment if he moved here, and with a combination of finagling and liberal use of his gambling money, he'd gotten a penthouse. Why bother with a hotel when he could just go there? As he was walking, he noticed that somebody else had strayed from the group as well.

He walked over to her. "Hey, so I don't even know your name, but I take it you aren't too keen on the hotel. If you need a place to stay, I actually got a penthouse on the government's dime. You're welcome to stay if you want. Might as well make use of all the extra space I have."

Gale walked into the room and looked around. To be honest, it was no different than most hotel rooms. It had a small kitchen and dining area, what was basically a living room, a bedroom with only one bed. and small bathroom adjacent to that. The teen was obviously nervous as to what this might mean, but she figured that she could just sleep on the couch.

@, I realized the room was one bedroom and sighed trying to keep myself from seeming awkward, even adding some light humor into the statement "Gale, you get first pick on sleeping arrangements, take your pick, the bed or conveniently placed couch." *Lets hope this dose not get anymore awkward.*

He had been moving around for so long, the concept of staying somewhere for good, and having some kind of income was completely foreign to him. "I haven't given much thought about what I would do once I got here. Well, I guess I can figure that out later. We should probably head on to the hotel. I'm not one to pass up on free."

Detru waited a long time, at least in her eyes, before opening the window up again. Yes! Someone was right outside. Easy pickings. She leaped out the window, grabbing hold of the fire escape, and clambered her way down.

Gale nodded slightly and thought for a second. She didn't really care where she slept, considering the fact that it would only be for one night. "I might as well take the bed." She said. "We should be able to get enough money to rent or buy a house, considering the fact that we'll both have somewhat high paying jobs."

"Well that is a waste of space!"she smiled warmly at him before extending a hand to shake.

 

"My name is Rikku and your's? If we will share this penthouse, we should introduce ourselves first, no?". Rikku was always glad to take help when it was given but by doing it this way, she could pay him back with cooking or gardening. She couldn't bear not contributing in any way.

On his way to his room, he saw that shapeshifting meta from before. "What's she doing?" Nico mouthed to himself and cautiously walked up to her. Seeming she had headphones on, he tapped her on the shoulder to get her attention. It looked like she was just scurrying around the place, looking for something or doing something.

@, I nodded,You are correct there, I already have enough for a deposit and a few months rent last time I checked, but that is a problem of tomorrow, tonight we relax from that incredibly long boat ride." I was glad to finnaly be of the boat the novelty of the ocean wore off in half an hour.

@, "Yes, we'll go to the hotel now, cuz it's free," Louise replied with a shrug. "Afterwards, maybe we could find someplace together, maybe take an apartment off someone who's too weak to hold it. Survival of the fittest is how it works in my world. That applies to the real world, too. The regular humans are afraid of us, cuz they know that we are the future. That's why they're oppressing us."
