Just a little Youtube help

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I'm soon going to start up a new youtube channel where I read Fanfictions (non sexual) and post my own fan art, and I was wondering if there was anything I need to know before I start, or any tips your willing to give.

And any ideas for Usernames?

Any feedback will be appretiated
Thanks hope you can help

P.s This is my first Post

MLP fanfictions?

BronyNarrator comes to mind. I'm terrible with names.

Any Fanfiction?

I have no idea.

Also, If you haven't thought about it, dramatic reading is the best in my opinion.

One thing, it's good to get a few followers before you post a lot of content. Just post like 1-2 videos as a sample space and ask at the end of each to like the video if they did and if they're not Subscribed yet to do that and you'll make more videos.

Also, it's good to set a personal goal of subscribers so when you reach that milestone, you can make a celebration video thanking all your aubscribers.

Also, to show you're being nice. Try to respond to your subscribers' comments and questions. That way they'll stay with you longer.

One last thing, since game commentaries are pretty popular, try and mix a bit of that in with your FF and art vids. People looking for some game commentaries will see your channel and check out your videos and maybe even subscribe.

That's all I have, Can't think of a name other than PonyArts

  1. Get a decent microphone, if you really want to do it right, get a MXL990 and an iTrack Solo for the USB input. You can also use a Blue Yeti or Snowball. Do not cheap out on this.
  2. USE A POP FILTER
  3. USE A POP FILTER
  4. Audacity has the best noise removal. I am versed in Adobe Audition, Abelton Live, Reaper, and various other DAWs, I prefer the noise removal in Audacity.
  5. Learn how to clean up your voice, in short, gate it, pull in the low end until you hear distortion using an EQ8, compress it, and master. This is AFTER you do the initial recording and noise removal.
  6. When recording, do multiple takes at once. If you mess up, just restart that line or paragraph.
  7. Use Adobe Audition to balance the audio by hand. If you are lazy, use iZotope Nectar with maximize.
  8. Have very soft music playing the background to set the mood. Try to use something more ambient and not recognizable. Using recognizable music makes the listener relate to something else. You are trying to focus them on the story.
  9. If you use visuals, do it consistently. Don't half-ass it. Flim-Flam Philosophy is a prime example of how to do it right.
  10. Put your back into it.
  11. USE A POP FILTER

Hehe thanks for the advice, will do, P.s I have no idea what a pop filter is
