Well, I'm very jelly!    I own the original red 3DS back of March-April 2012, and I don't know if I can purchase another one. I don't know if I'll have enough money to purchase one!

While I do like the console design, I, too, am a bit confused on the console name's choice. It's going to create a lot of confusion with buyers.

 

On another note, did they release a list of games that will be mandatory or enhanced by the New 3DS?

The games that come out for the New 3DS will have the extra controls on the touch screen if you play it on a regular 3DS. I know for a fact the new Monster Hunter will do that.

Seems there's some confusion in this thread about if/what exclusive games are coming to New 3DS.

There was only one such game confirmed so far, a portable version of Nintendo's critically acclaimed Wii RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles:

The model looks nice, and I like how they're adding new features to it, but it leads me to a question or two...

Why didn't Nintendo use this model three years ago when the 3DS launched?

Why would they, just now, release a new model that has four shoulder buttons and a 2nd analog stick?

Because video game companies can totally magically see the future and know what people want out of a console/hand held.

Hey, I'm all up for this kind of 3DS.

It seems like a legit new addition to the 3DS itself, and I'd totally buy it.

All I need to know is a correct pricing and I'm good.

If there are going to be console exclusivity, it's really going to anger Nintendo fans. The 3DS is still going strong (as far as it being only around for a few years thus far, and even then, it didn't take off like lightning).  

I bought my 3DS when X/Y came out, and that was just last year! If they pop out an new one that has little/no transition, I can see many people (and parents) being angry.
