ManaMinori 4,145 September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 Do you think they exist in Equestria, or some other neighboring territories? Would they be rare, or plentiful as their own race? Also, do you think a unicorn would consider them a Bicorn / Tricorn their close relatives, or see them as a completely different species, entirely? SharpWit 2,719 September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 why wouldn't I be serious? Because frankly it sounds silly. yes it's a legitimate question that is intriguing but still silly. It's like asking why don't earth ponies have an extra set of limbs, or why don't pegasi have more than one pair of wings. the answer is simple. they don't need them. they additives would only get in the way and could even become a great disadvantage to a pony. as for them existing, not unless it's an animation error however since discord has a goat horn and an antler atop his head, maybe a bicorn isn't so far fetched if the placement is right
Zephyr Breeze aka po 57 September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 I have over 24 OC's and they are all different. one of mine has wings that fold up and another OC that has two tails and another that has small diamonds floating in both ears from tips and also dragons and also one that can run into shadows and travel through shadows RED WIND IS BEST PONY!! Fractured 2,684 September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 Considering magical supplies come from the pony themselves and not the horn, even a tricorn wouldn't be any more powerful than a regular unicorn. It would really just make life more difficult; you'd need extra magical practice to control your horns so you don't mess up and use three times as much magical energy as you need. It would make regular levitation a chore; mess up a really powerful spell, and you may just find yourself completely drained or dead. Produced by the phenomenal J.R. As far as I know, there aren't any horses in myth, as a family branch of pegasi that have three or four wings. Same for regular horses (although they're excluded from mythological lore, because they're plain old normal ponies) No, only (again to my knowledge in myth) pegasi ponies and their related Bicorns/ tricorns, ect. Also, it's not even a matter of being born with 'what you need' as you tend to believe. I highly doubt ponies can control what they're born with as much as we can, be it an extra horn, head, pair or limbs, or what have you. There are biological oddities and defects, and even if a bicorn / tricorn wasn't a 'defect' and they just existed as their own race in whatever fictional world all those MLP mythological species live in, how are we to even know and be able to dismiss it, if there hasn't been much in the way of worldbuilding beyond the Equestrian country (and even within it, MLP's only ever really focused mostly on 2 towns/ cities) Under the Jellicle Moon- a site with cuteness, cat boys, and comic strips / Star Dreams Fanclub

Fractured 2,684 September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 what bout quadricorns they important? I'd have to worry about what the purpose of such a creature existing would be, let alone an entire species... Produced by the phenomenal J.R. SharpWit 2,719 September 19, 2014 Share September 19, 2014 I don't think it sounds silly at all, frankly. As far as I know, there aren't any horses in myth, as a family branch of pegasi that have three or four wings. There is a reason there aren't any horses in myth with more than one set of wings. It just doesn't work. Giving a 4 legged creature is one thing. giving a 4 legged creature anymore would become a health hazard. the second set of wings would get in the way so it couldn't fly. then the adjustment or extra vertebrae in the back would make it appear, and to be honest, disfigured. and without the use of it's wings they would get caught on things and become limp and ragged from lack of use. maybe even getting to a point so severe that they fall off. This i'm sure isn't painting a pretty picture. which also means it would be an unappealing mate and the genes for multiple wings would die with the poor thing in some tragic way. what bout quadricorns they important? Now onto bi, tri, and yes, even quad corns. for their use in magic we are going to ignore because that doesn't affect their physic. but let's look at the problems of having even just one horn. it can get stuck in things, caught on others, and everything for wear has to be made just for you. It's like being left handed which i am by the way, so to all of you who are as well, you know the struggle. Next the placement of additional horns. where do they go? do they line up with each other in rows, or is one placed on your nose. do you have one above either brow, or to they form a crown. in all cases the above problems get worse except on the bicorn design with two horns facing back. this still requires different head wear but it at least has the advantage of being able to put a shirt on. however taking said shirt off is another story. and for it's possibility of happening, it's not just having a mutation where you have extra limbs. these are growths in your skull which are permanent. but i see no reason for why the gene wouldn't pass on. choosing a mate would be practically the same. hell it may even increase their chances. we may never know anything more than what we get from comparison of what's real and what isn't to where it applies. doesn't make it any less silly

But No. There are horse creatures with more than 1 horn- and it doesn't impede them. Really? I call BS. When have we ever seen the unicorns or even alicorns with longer horns in MLP gets their horns stuck in anything. Same with custom tailoring clothes. You do realize there's an entire race of unicorns with horns on their heads, so I think it's safe to say they manufactures produce clothes en masse for their race. And it's not even like Ponies even wear clothes all the time, anyway. You're bringing up trivial points, here, and grasping at straws, bro. Bicorn should be no different. The bucking placement of their horn doesn't matter- it's likely on their face/ head, pointing whichever way. Who the hell cares which way the horn faces? That's not what I asked. At all. Darker 1,351 September 20, 2014 Share September 20, 2014 They aren't as mythologically important or impressive as alicorns, pegasi or unicorns. I don't think they will appear, because it would be too cheessy. SharpWit 2,719 September 20, 2014 Share September 20, 2014 When have we ever seen the unicorns or even alicorns with longer horns in MLP gets their horns stuck in anything. Never, because it's very well possible it's not a common trait because unicorns with longer horns may only mate with other unicorns with higher horns. Or maybe they'so far up in society that having children of their own isn't that big of a concern with them. It also helps to live in a style that allows you to control your environment. for example, higher doorways, cleared areas, open rooms. But if a horned creature were to walk straight into a place like the Everfree forest, and not take a well used path, some low hanging vines or branches could easily catch the horn(s) and this would not be a predicament that would help it succeed in life, and more horns would mean the more likely this could happen. The bucking placement of their horn doesn't matter That actually matters the most. a horn facing back like @@rainbowdashbrony1, SAOLA, would allow objects to pass right over, while if they were facing forward, they would act as hooks and catch on just about everything. Fhaolan 4,484 September 20, 2014 Share September 20, 2014 no creatures with more than 4 legs, because it would impede walking/ running. Yes, actually, there are mythological horses with more than 4 legs. Sleipnir, the 8-legged horse of Norse myth and Bagri Maro, the 8-legged horse of Gondi myth, which in addition has 4 heads. And there is a mythological creature called a bicorn. Unfortunately, those myths have it as a carnivorous cow, not a horse. But then, the original unicorn myths basically weren't horses either, they were goats. So you can't use original myths for this kind of thing.
