How did you choose your OC's color scheme?

For Clover, I thought that the mauve and pink for her mane suited her bright personality. I decided to give her white fur so that she wouldn't be all clashy. I've seen loads of OCs with brightly coloured manes and bright fur that practically blind you, so I figured that a neutral colour would be best for fur with a bright mane, and vice versa. Oh, and I gave her green eyes and green magic glow cuz I wanted a good aligned character to have those, rather than just bad. XD

 

I gave my evil character Jinx red eyes and glow, with slate blue fur and purple and blue mane cuz I'm kinda sick of evil OCs always being given red and black colour schemes. Since we had a villain in the show with pink fur, I don't see why a villain should always have a dull colour scheme. :P
