searching Discord's Celestia-Approved 'The Maze Of Discord'

Upon finding good rather boring, and with Celestia suspecting he'd try something if not given a suitable outlet, a team of ponies worked night and day to create:

 

The Maze Of Discord.

 

Accepting thirty challengers per day in separate groups of six, entering the maze in staggered intervals, The Maze Of Discord is a scaled-up version of the maze Princess Twilight Sparkle and her friends once battled Discord in. Challengers will go through devious traps, mental assaults, and all manner of unplanned twists and turns, all for the treasure that lies in the center:

 

A lone treasure chest containing one thousand bits.

 

Only one pony can get this chest, typically the first pony to make it to the center, and it is not uncommon for challengers to make it to the center at the same time, only to fight over the chest.

Discord himself will be patrolling this maze, toying with the challengers and ensuring that only the best of ponies can make it to the center.

For the fun of others, there is a nearby stadium in which ponies who can afford tickets will watch the day's game using a crystal ball larger than most houses. Each viewer sees whichever pony they want to see, ensuring each one can watch their favourite. Certain items, helpful or harmful, may be teleported in and given to certain challengers if enough fans demand it.

 

Money and glory await those ponies brave enough to claim victory. However, other monsters, dangerous plants, other teams and possibly even your own teammates will stand in your path. Can you navigate The Maze Of Discord?

 

(OOC note: Only one/two teams will be played by players, the others will be NPCs controlled by me, the game master. Connections between players will not be necessary, as this the pony equivalent of the ultimate gameshow, and teams are likely to be split up anyway. Fans giving bonus items to contestants will be at the GM's discretion.)

I wanted to go for an alternate "Mane Six" vibe without forcing it onto the players. But I suppose it could work with less than six, though it might be less fun. Then again, NPCs could probably fill empty slots...
