Just got a Corsair K70 RGB! Damn, this keyboard feels good to type on.

I personally don't like the way most mechs feel typing as theres a bump at the top of the key press which coming from someone whos used backbones all their life feels weird. I guess I could always buy a black though, but my G510s serves me fine for now so why bother?

Then why not get a keyboard with a linear switch type, like Cherry MX Reds?

I'd prefer blacks as from what I've heard reds are too easy to make accidental keypresses on, but like I said I paid 80 bucks for my current keyboard so why throw it out after 8 months lol

So, anyway, Linus got challenged to do a "value" 4K build for more mainstream, less-demanding games like League of Legends, Team Fortress 2, CS:GO and World of Warcraft by AMD. The results are pretty surprising.

 

 

So it turns out that 4K/60FPS gaming is possible with today's hardware without needing to blow thousands of dollars on hardware, but only in less-demanding titles like the ones he and Luke tested. Pretty impressed by the results tbh.

Yesterday, one of the things I got in my stocking was 40 USD worth of Steam money.

Because of all the sales, I managed to get eight games!

I got Thomas Was Alone, Deus Ex, Terraria (Better than Minecraft), QUAKE II, AVGN Adventures, Super Meat Boy, PAYDAY 2, and METAL SLUG X.

All that money went away so fast.

I found somethings strange happening with Deus Ex: GotYE from Steam.

When I play the game and my view is looking at a more open field or during action, the game lags like crazy. I used Bandicam to detect the FPS and it goes down to twenty.

I have the thing set in OpenGL rendering. (DirectX is almost unplayable.)

Also, keep in mind this is a game from 2000. I have a PC that has dual core 1.4 Ghz AMD, which is more than four times the requirements. At least with TF2, I'm lucky to even get 30FPS!

Is this just a optimization problem Ion Storm never fixed or something?

Try running in compatibility mode.

 

Kinda related, but useless tidbit, it ran like garbage on those requirements at the time.

Postal 2 is on sale, even though it's admittedly a stupid game it's probably got some "so bad it's good" value for the $1 it is right game on Steam.

It's immature, but it can be really funny in a "crosses the line twice" kind of way because of how dripping with satire it is(it's like several smart people have said about shows like King of Hill, both really stupid and really smart people like for different reasons because it appeals to people that like stupid shit but satirizes the fact it's stupid shit at the same time)

So, it was on sale for $12 instead of $45 so I grabbed the Thief Pack(all three original games and the remake/reboot along with all the addons)

I'm honestly doing pretty good with the sales, it's amazing how cheap some of the games got this year($2 for Ghostbusters, $4 for the Alan Wake Collection, $2.50 for the Penumbra Collection)
