First Time Calling Yourself a Brony or Pegasister?

I've been called one but never referred to myself as such.

Huh. You've made me think, friend.

when i got exposed to the whole pony thing back in 2011 I was pretty open to it because the things I saw were funny to me. I saw cross-eyed ponies in the thumbnail of yt videos, gifs of rainbow dash doing the sonic rainboom and fluttershy yelling "Youre going to love me" so I knew it wasn't the same as it use to be, so I openly checked out mlp groups and everyone was referencing cupcakes, so I went and read it (only fanfic I ever read to this day) and then I decided it was time to give the show a go, I watched Party of One because it had crazy pinkie pie on it and after that I deemed myself a brony and went on to watch the rest of season 1.

But after season 2 ended I decided to leave the fandom. All my internet friends had stopped being bronies (for the most part) and so I had no real reason to stay in the fandom. Last year when season 4 aired I finally decided to watch season 3 and 4. And I watched the new episodes every saturday but for the most part I didn't consider myself a brony. It wasn't until this summer I got more into the fandom once again but I still don't consider myself a brony.

I still never use it to refer to myself in the real world, but the first time I had used the word to refer to myself was during a "official pony thread" on bungie.net's the flood around 2011.

First time I said I was a Brony was in a text convo with my wife playfully suggesting that I need to ground my kids for their role in enabling my fandom birth. I think I actually copied it here somewhere months ago. This text occurred moments after I caught myself humming Art of the Dress

These last two responses brings me up for something else to say, ( being the last two comments were notorious and M'aiq ). there is no definite definition of brony, you have to consider yourself one, which i did go through, so that makes my definition of brony someone who watches and enjoys the show.... but now i am kinda obsessed.....

the first episode i ever watched, was the season 3 finally, and then.... my life changed....  :muffins:

actually, it wasn't that dramatic, but yeah at first it was wierd telling my friends

me:"hey.... so uh, there's this show called my little pony...DON'T SAY ANYTHING YET! but... uh, yeah um... you should watch it"

friend:"juli.... no... what?"

me:"uh... yeah.. um, you should watch my little pony"

friend:"no comment"

me:"i'm a brony ok!!!...pegasister...whatever!"

.. they still didn't watch it, at least they weren't judgmental, i have good friends :D

First time was when I watched my first episode in early 2013.

After the first episode I said under my breath: "D'ah, fuck... I'm a brony."

(Also, funny thing: I first became a brony on my older brother's birthday, which is February 14th. Happy birthday, you got a brony. Happy valentine's day to everyone else, you have a brony.)

I think it was on some YouTube comment shindig in '11 where I first heard the term for fans of the show. I replied to it and there you go. In IRL, it was probably when I discussed the male audience for the first time with my younger brother.

The whole reason I started watching the show was for my speech class. My prompt was to find something unique and interesting to do and write a speech about it. I picked MLP because it would let me watch netflix for homework. The speech was awful, but I guess that was the first time I had referred to myself as a brony.

After I watched about 3 episodes. Yes it only took 3. I just said "Fuck it I'm a brony." to myself.

I've only called myself that a couple times in the righg cases.

The first time I admitted to being a Brony was around this February, when I finished the season 2 premiere... Yep, It was Discord that dragged me over the edge from "Sorta mentally unstable kid" into "Sorta mentally unstable kid thats into a show about ponies"

The first time I called myself a Brony.. 'Twas a dark and stormy fateful night  many years back after I'd finished watching S1 of MLP. The night was filled with trials of Pizza and copious amounts of soft drink & snacks. I couldn't stop watching.. I knew it was coming.. AND.. Thus I had called myself a brony.

Fin.

I had a hard time calling myself a brony since I had a bad opinion on that community. But I decided to make my own opinion and give it a try. Wasn't disappointed ^^

I'm proud calling myself a brony even if I'm a closet one.
