Any love for Spike?

He was being admired by her, but not in the way he wanted. Classic case of "friend zoned".

 

Dragon Quest wasn't about Spike's crush on Rarity. There's more to him than that crush thing. It was about his identity as a dragon. Besides, Rarity has been affectionate to Spike like that before in Secret of my Excess and he loved it. If Rarity managed to bait Spike with all that affection, he wouldn't have went on the dragon migration and we wouldn't have had a story.

 

Besides, kids don't know what friend zone means. If Rarity only does like Spike as a friend, the writers won't beat around the bush about it and make Rarity at least mention it on screen to another character, most likely Twilight, that she only likes Spike as a friend. Plus Rarity goes Spikey-Wikey even if he's not around to witness her act that way so why does she even do so?

I like spike. he has a very interesting relationship with twilight, There friends but she also poses as a mother figure.

It's weird though, even though he's still a baby dragon, he learns quick and sometimes makes better decisions than twilight. Also I'm curious as to what gems taste like to a dragon

I have always loved Spike. He would be on my list of Favorite characters right before Derpy, Scootaloo, and Featherweight,

Yeah, I honestly have to say I do like Spike. He's funny, he's adorable, and he really is a good friend to the ponies. he gets pushed around a lot. Like that annoying kid brother that the older sister(Twilight) and her friends don't want to have to listen to. But he tries his best for everyone. even if he makes a few mistakes and is a bit mischievous from time to time. And really, I think all of the characters have moments like that.
