In 2012, I went speculate in their Kingdom Hearts forum on my theory that Aqua may become a Light Is Not Good - Knight Templar, and they almost unanimously called it an out-of-character @$$ Pull. They clearly forgot:

 

1. Her devotion to Eraqus's teachings.

 

2. Her early willingness to kill Cinderella's Stepmother and Stepsisters to stop their Darkness.

 

3. Her own words: "What else is Darkness but hate and rage?"

 

4. Her friends being possessed and ultimately screwed over due to Xehanort's and Vanitas's Darkness.

 

5. Her time in the Realm Of Darkness mostly being fights with uber-Heartless.
