Lets make a mlp:fim AU

Kinda like the lunaverse, ya'know? The lunaverse is good and all that but It dose not really diverge from cannon that much. So I was thinking about it and thought if I could make and write my own mlp:fim au cannon divergence and post it on a fourm and other people can contribute to this new universe!

 

So what should be the main event that will make these events happen? Was Rainbow Dash never born? Was Luna never born? Did Luna win against her sister? Did nightmare moon return earlier than predicted?

So what if Luna did win against her sister and she sent Celestia to the sun.. actually, that might be a bit too harsh

In an alternate dimension, instead of the elements of harmony, there are the elements of chaos. Their job is to make sure chaos reigns. And those elements of chaos somehow end up in the real Equestria

How about this--Luna was never banished, because she was never possessed.

Or, maybe, the three tribes never settled their differences.

Oh! OR, Luna and Celestia never defeated Discord.

There are so many points in mlp history that can be changed.

Luna returns earlier, and Celestia (who hasn't taken on Twilight as her pupil yet) sends Sunset Shimmer to defeat her. However, Sunset Shimmer instead allies with Luna.

 

Luna defeats Celestia, who then has to go and live an ordinary life in Ponyville as a regular citizen. Luna makes Sunset into an alicorn princess, and captain of the royal guard.

Hmm sounds like Sliderponies

 

 

Interesting idea, with many possibilities. (Too many!)

Let's see what worlds can my imagination work out...

 

1. Imagine that the Mane Six has never born. But everything else is the same, and Nightmare Moon returns. It is then up to some (not-so-much-anymore) background ponies to get together and recollect the Elements of Harmony. Which background ponies would be best to take place of the Mane Six?

 

2. Let's say our Sliderponies slide into Equestria in which Discord has not been stoned. He still wrecks more and more chaos upon all of Equestria, and Ponyville is the chaos capital of the world, as he planned. Sliderponies must find Mane Six who gave up and split apart long time ago, and help them connect them with each other back again.

 

3. Twilight Sparkle saved her library house by never going there when fighting with Lord Tirek, and dragging him far off from the perimeters of Ponyville. So he destroyed a bit more than just the door in Celestia's palace instead ;J

 

4. The two regal sisters still live in their old castle in the middle of Everfree Forest. Canterlot doesn't exist.

 

5. In "Magical Mystery Cure" episode, Twilight doesn't know how to fix Starswirl's spell, so she just has a different idea: she casts this spell several times in a row, each time shuffling her friends' cutie marks and Elements one more time, so we see each of the Mane Six being every single Element for a while, and after the whole carousel of such destiny swaps they finally get back into their original places. (Actually this was my first idea when I watched this episode and I wondered why Twilight Sparkle never got this obvious idea. If they swap in a circular fashion, they'd get back after 5 more spells. If they shuffle randomly, there are 6! = 720 possible combinations of their cutie marks, so she would test all possibilities in a day or two.)

 

6. The portal to the Breezies' world closed before Mane Six could go back through it, so they need to stay in the Breezies' world (and in their Breezies' forms) until next time the portal will connect their worlds again.

 

7. There's only Spike in Equestria, and no single pony around. Thumbnails attached:

 

 

 

8. When Trixie came to Ponyville the first time, and Snips & Snails brought the Ursa Minor, Twilight Sparkle decided to join forces with Trixie when dealing with that grumpy bear. This way Trixie begin to understand the power of Friendship and from that day they're besties with Twilight It might be fun to see what other adventures they could have together.

 

9. Applejack stayed in Manehattan and become sophisticated lady, Rarity-style Rarity, on the other hand, had lost her sophistication when spending so much time on the province (Ponyville), so she became a farm girl (they pretty much have swapped their destinies, like in "Simple Ways", but full-time).

 

10. Rainbow Dash cannot fly, because she's an Earth Pony, or a Unicorn I cannot decide which one would be better, both are interesting If she were a Unicorn, what sort of rainbow magic could she perform? :> If she were an Earth Pony, would she still be called "Dash", or just "Rainbow"? She would have to be the fastest pony galloping on earth.

 

11. Pinkie Pie is shy, and Fluttershy is not. I wonder how they would behave then.

 

12. When Twilight Sparkle went through the portal to get back her crown from Sunset Shimmer, it turned out that Sunset Shimmer just tricked her to trap her in human world and then return to Equestria instead of Twilight to took her place. She uses a spell which changes her to make her look like Twilight (kinda Changeling's spell). Then she gradually tricks the rest of Mane Six to take the Elements of Harmony from them, and tricks Celestia (being indistinguishable from Twilight Sparkle) that she's her student to take power in Canterlot. But meanwhile, Twilight Sparkle makes her new friends in human world, and when the portal is open again, she returns to Equestria with her new friends in pony forms to kick Sunset Shimmer's plot

 

P.S.: Can you make the title of this thread more clearer? It took me a while to figure out what "AU" means to you.

First: I LOVE Sliders! Second: I love the idea of an MLP Sliders series. If you get it started, I'll happily be editor, VA, and help in production in any way I can!

Maybe, like with the Sliders series, Twilight does a spell to open up portals to other realities, but they get stuck, and have to find their way back. Maybe even switching cast at points (like they did in the show). It'd be awesome! I love the concept; every tiny detail changes the path of the world, and every change creates a whole new reality. Which is the basis for the multiverse theory… but I love the way they used it in the series.

 

tl;dr: If you make an MLP Sliders series: count me in in any way I can!
