gaming Sly Cooper Series

I had to make this. I just had to. Of all the games 2 is probably my favorite but the last one comes really close.

Character wise?

Well if I have to choose just Cooper Gang honorary member wise, Dimitiri. I don't know why there just something I love about the character. I liked Panda King as well. And of course I love Carmelita too. (She's honorary in 4, kinda towards the end of 3 too) Though of just the main trio, Slys my pick.

Ancestor wise

1. Tennesee "Kid" Cooper

2. Tie between Riochi Cooper and Sir Galleth Cooper

3. Salim Al-Kupar

4. Bob.

Do I ship anything?

SlyxCarmelita was one of my first otps ever. So yeah I ship it. I guess aside from the ancestors I liked the most(the first 3) the heavy SlyxCarmelita material was wonderful and made me love 4 almost as much as 2.

Bosses?

Uhm well obviously the honorary members my fave.

Hmm. I'll order my list some other time. For all 4 games.

The ancestor I wish they would've visited or at least would've gained more knowledge of is Henriette "One Eye" Cooper. Seriously just why didn't we ever learn more about her? :(

But how bout you? Who's your favorite character? Boss? Level? Ancestor?

Is there one ancestor you wish they would've shown more of?(you can easily check the sly cooper wiki to find any ancestor that was shown in 3 that they never gave much info on and obviously wasn't in 4)? Game?

Sly Cooper is probably my favorite of the three big platformers of the PS2 era. From start to finish it had me hooked. The pseudo-stealth gameplay was always smooth and it really does a good job of making you feel like a ninja.

Sly 4 is definitely my favorite. Though I felt it was a bit short overall I enjoyed nearly every aspect of it. I was hoping we'd see at least one female Cooper in Sly 4, particularly the pirate mentioned in 3. There's so many ancestors they could have used but were sadly left on the wayside.

Of the villains my favorite remains to be Muggshot. MY BEEYOOTIFUL GUNS ARE DESTROYED!!!

Clokwerk is definitely second place. Clokla can go suck it though, even if the fight(s) with her were pretty awesome.

My favorite level in the series is probably Holland though. Dem sites and dog fights.

I really hope we get another Sly game that continues where 4 left off. Such a massive cliffhanger. I was hoping the Sly movie was gonna continue from there but it's just going to be a recap of the first game's story from what I heard.

The animations between levels are part of what drew me into the series. They always had a way of being cartoony but sufficiently explanitory at the same time. It took a bit to get used to the looks of Sly and particularly Carmelita in 4 but once I did I loved it. Their animation counterparts were absolutely amazing though.

Favorite ancestors are Tennessee and Salim. Both of them had crazy fun personalities. I kinda hoped we would have seen a level with Sly's dad in it but the Cooper Vault in three was a great way to show off Sly's lineage too.

Dooo eeeeet. There are few games that will have you travel the world in such a colorful way. Paris, Haiti, Holland, Egypt...all these places and more can be yours to see. ;)

Sly Cooper is such a big part of my child next to Jak and Daxter.

Sadly Ratchet and Clank were not part of my childhood, but it made me feel like a kid again playing through the PS2 trilogy for the first time last summer. :P

Anyways, the second game has to be my all time favorite with Thieves in Time close behind.

I squee'd like a japanese fangirl when I started playing Thieves in Time because I waited for a new Sly game for such a long time. I would've squee'd harder if the collection did not release to hold me over. :P

Not to mention that the Plat for the collection is among the easiest of all time. I don't even have the PS3 collection (yet) but I've seen the trophies and I've already done everything on it...twice. I can and will do it again for the sake of another Plat.

I love Sly Cooper, it's definitely one of my favorite series along with Ratchet and Clank and Jak and Daxter.

I didn't get into the series until i bought the Sly Trilogy nearly two years ago. I enjoyed it that much i decided to get the Vita version during the Summer.

My favorite game has to be Sly 2: Band of Thieves, this is because it made so much improvements over the first game, like the ability to play as the whole gang, the story was the best in the series imo and it was longer, pacing and mission structure were also done well , presentation is excellent, it now featured more emphasis on stealth and it had more of an open world feel with huge environments. :)

I liked Sly 3 and Sly 4 as well, one thing i liked about Thieves in Time was the ability to play as Sly Cooper's ancestors like Tennessee Kid Cooper, Rioichi Cooper and Salim. They each had there own special abilities which gave more variety to the game play, they also added new costumes which added more depth to the game based on different situations. :D

I do hope we get Sly 5 someday because Thieves in Time ended with a Cliffhanger.

thay need to bring sly back and jack and dexter too

Agreed, both Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch should bring back Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper as they haven't worked on them in nearly 10 years.

I gave this series a try when I got the Sly Cooper Collection I have played 1 and 2 to completion but still need to finish 3 and there is also the matter of Thieves in Time. Good series, I like the old school cartoon and film noir references and it is a rather nice mix of stealth and action.

Sucker Punch has been working on developing the inFamous series. That's why they haven't touched either series in 10 years. Plus Sanzaru Games are Sly Coopers new developers. So Sucker Punch won't be making the next one anyways. They just own the rights to the game since they're owned by Sony.

I'm not sure what you're trying to say? I know that Sly 4 already happened...

I know that InFamous has taken up their time, i was just saying that the franchise has been left out for so long by them that Sanzaru had to make the fourth game themselves.

Also Sanzaru has no plans to make another Sly Cooper title. It's up to Sucker Punch to make the fifth game now since Sly 4 ended with a cliffhanger.

I'd oddly prefer it if it was a few years. When Sucker Punch first started they churned out the games like a year or a year and a half apart. They were great don't get me wrong but the wait wasn't long enough to me. When it's like say 4 years maybe 2 at the most it gives fans more time to speculate what's going to happen. More time to create theories and all. I'd want 3 years perhaps 2 at the least.

Oh it just sounded like you didn't know when you said they hadn't worked on it in ten years. If you mean Sucker Punch specifically then I see where you're going but Sly 4 was handled better than any of the other games so I'm okay with who did that one.

You can really feel the Sly influence in Infamous. They improved just about everything about the climbing and gliding.

Infamous 1 is another game I've Plat'd alongside Sly 4. I'll get Infamous 2's Plat someday... <.< >.>

All right, Sly Cooper! I remember playing Sly 2, then 3 when I was but a wee child, then I got the trilogy much later on to play the original. My favourite game in the series is a tie between 2 and 3, my favourite villain is Muggshot, and I have various favourite levels including Mesa City from the original, both Canada levels from Sly 2, and Australia and China from Sly 3.

I unfortunately haven't played the 4th one for longer than the intro level, but it's more of a lack of opportunity rather than a lack of interest.

I loved the Canada levels too. The minigames in that one were really fun. Particularly competing and messing with Bison during the Lumberjack Games.

Yeah i already knew and i meant Sucker Punch, i was just stating that they haven't made a Sly Cooper game in nearly 10 years, and it would be good if they returned to the series as they were the original creators of Sly.

I agree that Sanzaru did a fantastic job with Sly 4, although i wasn't too thrilled with the character models.

Oh yeah definitely, the climbing, gliding and open world atmosphere were taken from Sly Cooper and built upon InFamous. You can tell InFamous is a Sucker Punch game.

I haven't platinum'ed InFamous 1 and 2 yet, although i have Platinum'ed InFamous Second Son and InFamous First Light. They're great games. :)

I see no reason for the original creators to make the next game if someone else will do it for them. The only reason we got a Sly 4 was because a company besides Sucker Punch did it. They're way too focused on Infamous to ever do another Sly game.

Ohhh Sly Cooper!! One of my favorite underrated gaming series :3 Where should I start...

Well, i certainly do own all the Sly Cooper games. The series is underrated, but I honestly prefer it. I dunno, I just love it. The first game was probably the most difficult one for me. They really made that game more challenging xD other than some of the challenging missions, it was a great game. Then 2 and 3 came out and it was a HUGE change, but AWESOME. I love how the gameplay was cartoonish and how you got to be a thief, but a good thief. I always shipped Sly and Carmelita and wanted them to be together so BAD. In Sly 2 when they got to dance together, I fangirled :P

I actually liked Sly 4. I heard some people disliking it, but I loved it. Though, its not owned by Sucker Punch and now by Sanzaru games, I am glad Sanzaru kept their style the same, but small changes, the gameplay the same, same voices, same characters, and even the cartooish/ comic cutscenes. I HOPE THEY MAKE A SLY 5 BECAUSE SLY 4 HAD SUCH A CLIFF HANGER AND I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS, HURRY UP AND MAKE 5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also seen that Sanzaru games won't be making a Sly 5 anytime soon, but they WILL eventually make one. Its not a NO. :'D

I wanna wait until like late next year maybe 2016. Because then the wait would be much more with it.

As for SlyxCarmelita yeah they were implied to have been together in the time span in game from after three until 4. And it was pretty damn obvious Carmelita still has feelings for Sly since Bentley said during the prologue cinematic that she had been working the hardest to find Sly and that his disappearance hit her the hardest. And of course Sly still feels feelings towards her. Since he spent so much time worrying about her and then trying to get her to not be angry with him after he found her. It was probably one of my very first otps. And it's one of the strongest still.

I just got a PS3 (yeah that's right, a 3) for Christmas (also correct) earlier this month. It came with Lego Batman 3 and Sly Cooper 1-3. 1 to me was enjoyable, but I can't say I'm completely in love with it.

I'm almost completely finished with the first mission in 1, and that's been far more entertaining. I'm looking forward to 3, but I'll probably finish Final Fantasy 9 first, since it was the entire reason for getting a PS3 in the first place.
