(RP Thread)


The Elements of Harmony, which hold the power to banish evil in Equestria, are no hidden icons in the land of Equestria. Most everypony knows of them, and those who don't can find everything they need to know at a local library. Wielded first by the two sisters who watch over the land, Celestia and Luna, then by Twilight Sparkle and her friends, they are symbols of good which always prevail in the face of despair.

Ten years after Discord was banished by the Elements of Harmony at the hooves of Twilight and company, a Canterlot archaeologist made a strange discovery. Beyond the Everfree forest lies a valley of mostly dirt, with very little in the way of plant or animal life. This area was only in passing thoughts in the minds of geologists, with most ponies committing it as being a wasteland not worth investigating or pioneering. However, one curious pegasus by the name of Dusty Diggs led a small team to investigate the place, discovering a patch of dirt about sixty feet in diameter surrounded completely by stone. Finding this spot peculiar, an excavation was started, and by the next day he had found something deep under the dirt.

Deep within that ground he had discovered something that was about to change Equestria. Upon being unearthed, three gemstones were discovered, one red, in the shape of a fire, another one being green and of a coiled snake with the final, largest being purple and the shape of a dying, bedraggled tree. As Dusty prepared to pull the gems out of the hole, they let out a bright glow, blinding him and his team. When the light had faded away, three ponies stood before him at the bottom of the hole, each wearing a different gem.

There was Ares, an Earth pony stallion with a pitch black coat, crimson eyes and a mane of pure fire, wearing a golden necklace bearing the red gem. Venommane, a pegasus, had snow white fur with piercing green eyes, her mane an aura about her of shifting shades of green, a vile liquid dripping occasionally to the ground with a hiss as it fell through the air. She wore an obsidian chain necklace with the coiled green snake gem. Finally, there was Cessatiance, a unicorn mare who stood much taller than the others. Her coat was a light violet color, contrasting against her bright yellow eyes. Her mane was short and black, seeming to be normal unlike the others. She wore a crown of silver on her head with the purple tree gemstone inset.

Dusty had just uncovered the Elements of Disharmony, and the three ponies before him were incarnations of Disparity, Venom and Decay, now prepared to spread despair across the land...

Hello, everypony! This is the thread for my RP, Disharmonious, which will be a serious RP starring six ponies who must take up arms against the Elements of Disharmony. The backstory is explained above, so read that if you haven't already done so (I don't know why you wouldn't).

This RP will begin with the new Elements only freshly having been released, and none of the cast will know about them at the start as all of Equestria is still unaware of their existence. As time goes on, though, they will encounter the three ponies who represent the elements and face challenges put forth by them as they try to find a way to stop them.

There will be no appearances by canon characters except for Celestia and Luna at various moments in this RP, and the beginning setting is in a small, fictional (within the canon, that is) town by the name of Ruby Villa.

This RP will be for players who are competent in Role Playing and willing to make detailed posts often with at least moderate levels of grammatical aptitude. It's not as bad as it sounds; this RP just needs to maintain a relatively consistent level of quality posts, so having at least decent writing skills is a must.

Rules:
  • No Mary-Sue characters, God-modding, etc. (No Alicorn characters)
  • Moderate level of grammatical and mechanical competency.
  • Posts must be at least three sentences long. You are encouraged to write longer posts when possible, however.
  • Wait for at least two other players to post before you post again, with an exception being made if it has been 12 hours after only one person has replied before you.
  • It is very important to maintain posting in this RP, as the cast is quite inflexible once it starts, with all six of the characters pretty much being necessary.
  • Breaking rules consistently will result in you being ejected from the RP, regardless of needing the cast to remain the same. It'd be easier to get a new player than keep a troublemaker.
To Join: Post a link to your character sheet and any other RP's you are in if possible. I will quote your post to let you know if you are in or not.

I will check all character profiles and possibly some past RP's if I can find any available to gauge your RP'ing abilities before accepting you into the RP. I'm not too harsh, and I still might accept you if you don't meet standards, albeit with a list of things you need to change to stay in if I do so.

Can you link me to an RP with an example of high quality (at least a bit lengthy) posts? If not, could you perhaps give me a demonstration on how you might introduce your character in the RP?

Is Dragonshy a suitable name? Or would you like it to be something relating to the chosen cutie mark?

 

Your OC's name isn't an important factor in being chosen. I just need to see a character sheet to know what your character is like and get a basic gist of your writing detail. Also, what do you mean by chosen cutie mark?

Elements will be decided later in the RP, most likely based off of character actions in the RP. However, if other players want to choose their own Elements we may be able to just do that.

MasterCombine was here first, so really the only fair option I have is to give him the position, but you're both great for this. Electrobolt, I'll be sure to let you know if there's an early ejection and a slot opens up.

I respect your decision, and even though I'm not part of the RP right now, I will follow the RP topic and read through it. Considering the posting requirement is similar to that of Shifted's, it should be a nice read :)
