"I shot a gun," Sam mumbles, taking her hand from her now-healed shoulder. "How was your meal? You look... better." Sam leaned against a nearby wall and looked the half-undead over, "And, question. What would the food I eat taste like to you? Purely curious- would hate to give you chocolate on a birthday or something to find out it taste like garbage or gives you the runs."

"Yeah, I feel a lot better after a quick nap." Auria replied Sam. The last time she ate human food was when she was on the plane. Even though she didn't eat much, it wasn't because of how good or bad it tasted to her, but instead she just simply dislikes the food they had in store. "I enjoy human food every now and then, but it doesn't really satisfy my hunger for.. You know.." She said, implying the need for human flesh.

"That, uhh... well that kinda sucks. Alot." Sam started imagining how hard it would make normal life. Kinda hard to explain away eating people. And daiting? Forget about it. "But there's gotta be an up-side, right?" She offered a weak smile. In all honesty, she was finding it kinda hard to think of something.

"If I eat enough, I won't have to spend a lot of time eating throughout the entire week. It saves time and it's not all that bad.. I guess." She sounds uncertain, since she's not sure if she enjoys eating flesh. "Maybe I'm just used to it." Auria finished with a somewhat depressed look.

Charles walked over to the two on his way to his room. "Well at least you're stronger, faster, and regenerate much more for an upside." He said, hearing most of the conversation. "Not much different from a vampire if you ask me, and we seem to be okay with one of those blokes on our team also. As long as your dining manners are up to snuff everyone should get along just fine." He finished with a friendly tone.

Masun took a quick stop at the mini-bar in the main lobby and snagged a few bottles of various alcohols. Masun encased the alcohols in a sphere of black shadowy vampiric energy, and grabbed the top of the sphere like it was a fabric and slung it over his shoulder like he was Santa Claus, but with alcohol. Masun rode the elevator back down to the living quarters and began walking back to his room when he spotted some of the others conversing in the lobby hallway. He overheard the conversation, still carrying the black shadow satchel of alcohol across his shoulder, he walked over to them

"Yeah, not too different at all. I can eat human food, it doesn't taste any different than it did when I was human. It just doesn't do anything for me. It's like what I'd imagine happens when a human takes antibiotics but isn't sick. Human blood is the only thing that does anything for me. I could theoretically 'survive' off of animal blood, but it tastes horrid as compared to the sweet succulence of human blood. And mage blood- MMM- don't even get me started on how great that tastes." Masun paused to adjust the satchel he had draped over his shoulder. It wasn't heavy, it just becomes uncomfortable to stand in the position that Masun was in for too long. Masun looked at Auria, " I don't know how ghoul blood tastes, but I smelled you bleeding from across the room earlier, and again when we were fighting. You're anatomy seems to be the same as a human's, Auria, but you're blood... I don't want to say it smelled repulsive, moreso it just smelled uninviting, like animal blood does to me. I'm not trying to offend you or anything. I'm assuming that I would be okay if I drank your blood for whatever reason, I just don't think it would be a sufficient source of sustenance for me. And I am willing to bet, my regenerative vampire flesh would be the same for you if you were to eat it for whatever reason." Masun finished.

"I wasn't-," Sam holds her hands up, shaking her head quickly, while speaking towards her undead squad mate, "I didn't mean to suggest that you were in anyway unwelcome." She rubs her shoulder - a nervous habit - and blushes a bit. "I just wanted to know more about undeath. It's kinda a new topic for me. Not bad, new."

"But drinking blood as a vampire isn't as disturbing as what I do.." She comments on what Charles said in a very soft voice. Nonetheless, what Charles said was true. It might be inconvenient for someone who's trying to live a normal life, but for someone who works in an organization like Area, it's a worthwhile trade off for those perks that are suited for combat.

When Masun was done saying everything he had to say about her, she wasn't at all offended. In fact, it makes sense since you could say that what she had inside of her was rotting flesh, but she didn't expect him to have the ability to smell the taste of her blood from so far away. "So what do you have planned for us, Masun? Are we going to leave this facility any time soon?" She asked.

"I'm not the one who plans what we do outside the facility. I imagine that would me Director Davis's call. But I assume there are people higher up the food chain than her within the government who give her assignments to give to us as well. The important thing we will be doing is we will be training every night and honing our skills. I am not too advanced with my vampire abilities and I am still learning new things I can do, so I know I can use the training. So we will stay vigilant with training at the beginning of each night when we wake up." Masun explained.

"What's more disturbin' and what's not is all in the eye of the beholder. For me, I don't have time to worry about how gross something might be, so I don't really mind mate." He commented before listening to Masun. He gave a nod after he was done speaking. "Well I'm gonna go back to my room and unpack, any of you lot can feel free to drop in if you need anything." He said as he tipped his hat and walked away and into his room. Charles went to work on all the boxes in the middle of his room. He set his rifle down and unpacked as swiftly as possible.

By the time he was done the room looked dramatically different from before. He had changed his bed sheets, filled his dressers with clothes, put up some appliances and a file cabinet and small bookcase, and set up a long table on one side of the room with various tools for casting his own ammunition. But the most noticeable change were the dozens upon dozens of various items hung on the walls now in glass cases, stands, or plaques. He had things ranging from weapons of all kinds, tools, awards, jewelry, musical instruments, and animal trophies. It could be inferred most of the things he had were taken as souvenirs from past fights.

Now finished with what he was doing, Charles grabbed a soda from a mini-fridge and sat down. He popped it open, took a sip, and rested for a few minutes.

Similarly,  Sam dismissed herself to sit on the couch in the lounge with a soda and flip through the channels. She rolled her shoulder to shake some of the frosty feeling from her shoulder and gazed tiredly at the tv, with no focus upon it whatsoever.

After both Sam and Charles left, she looked at Masun and asked him a question. "Could we train together some time?" Auria has never trained or fought with anyone else before she got transferred over to Area 51, so it's a fresh breath of air to get to fight with the people who she'll be working with.

But right after she asked, she was reminded of the awful incident that happened before she got transferred. It was horrid. Auria felt sick when the flashbacks came back to haunt her. A pool of blood, splatters of blood on the walls, organs scattered all over the hallway, her hands covered with blood. In fact, it looks pretty much exactly just like the one she was standing in right now.

"Excuse me-" She mumbled before she ran back to her room and into her toilet, leaving the doors behind her and throwing up in her toilet. Auria was breathing heavily, her eyes wide open with fear that she'll end up killing one of them. She threw up once again with the thought of it, which cleared out of stomach completely. After spitting out the remaining bits and chunks in her mouth, she rinsed her mouth with tap water and washed her face with cold water. She tried to calm down but she couldn't. The only thing that would help was the comfort from someone else, preferably from Masun, the leader of the group, which also happens to be the person she fought with an hour ago.

Masun saw the complete changes in Auria's facial expression, going from one of general interest, to one of anguish. Auria ran off back into her room leaving her door open. As a rule, Masun generally didn't like getting involved in personal issues, he was still battling with his own, so he didn't know how he could help. However, he thought that since he was the leader of the group, he had to at least have the illusion of compassionate ability. So, without another second thought, he felt himself move through the door way. Hearing the sound of regurgitating, he immediately made his way to the bathroom, only to see a hunched over Auria and a toilet full of partially digested entrails.

She washed herself off, and seeing as how she hadn't said anything, it was clear she didn't know he was there yet. One massive positive to being an asian vampire, even though he was tall for a japanese person, was having a small enough frame to be silent and nimble on his feet. Masun. standing in the bathroom door frame, decided to speak up to let her know he was there, "I have a hard time believing that Ghouls can get physically sick through an illness. So that only leaves the option that you were nauseous due to disgust. And judging by your facial expression, I would wager to guess that because of earlier facial expressions, it is due to a bad memory of some sort." Masun didn't want to pry if she didn't want to talk about what was afflicting her, but he decided that leaving an open ended sentence would allow her to speak her mind if she wanted to.

Auria didn't notice Masun until he spoke up. "Y-Yeah.. I was reminded that everyone around me is in danger whenever I'm around.." Auria started with a brief idea before she continued. "It happened around a year ago before I was transferred over to Area 51. The other half of my lost it when I had nothing to eat and I ended up devouring a friend when I left my room, looking for something to satisfy my hunger.." Tears started forming from her eyes. "I had no control over myself.. And now she's dead because of me!" She started crying, her eyes red as she sniffled with agony and pain. Auria grabbed hold of Masun, tears in her eyes as she asked him a question. "Can you promise me that you won't let that happen again?"

Masun listened intently to Auria's story. He had never been in a position where he had killed someone who didn't deserve it to drink their blood. He didn't even need to kill people to drink their blood. For the past 10 years he had been drinking the blood of those who would go back to his hotel room with him after they fell asleep. But had he been in a similar position, he no doubt would have done the same thing. The difference between Masun and Auria was that Masun had no friends of his own. He had been on his own for hundreds of years, and he liked it that way, or rather, he had grown accustomed to it.

Masun was about to say something when Auria grabbed him with tears in her eyes and he lost his train of thought.

"I...uh-" Masun fished for an answer and then formulated what he was going say. "Well, you don't have to worry about me. I can't die by normal means. And unless your teeth are tipped with blessed silver, or your saliva is holy water. I am not in any danger." Masun said. He tilted his head a bit to the side, the strands of his shaggy blue hair shifting with the change in position, a warm smile formed on his face. "But, I swear that I will protect the group from any harm that comes its way. Although I doubt the group will need it, they are very talented individuals. I also swear that if you lose control of yourself, I will be there to snap you out of it."

Auria smiled when she heard what Masun said. "Thanks Masun, I really appreciate it." She felt slightly relived from the burdens of her past, letting go of Masun and wiping away her tears with both her hands as she looked into his eyes. "I'm sorry for all of this.." Auria apologizes for taking up his time and to have him comfort her and to make such promises, but she was glad to have such a kindhearted leader.

Even though Masun was trying his best to be compassionate, the story Auria told reminded Masun of all those hundreds of years ago, probably closer to a thousand, when he first became a vampire to avenge his mother an father. Masun didn't know at the time that the vampire Ronin was now his master because of the vampire ritual. Even though he had been given the great strength he needed to single-handedly take down the corrupt emperor, he did not know the price he was to pay. When he made it home, the love of his life, the one he had made the sword that he used to exact his revenge against the corrupt emperor, was there. And they had spent a compassionate night of love together, but Masun was not ready for what was about to happen. When he heard the sounds of an intruder from downstairs he ordered his love Haruki to stay in bed. Who he found downstairs was the ronin who made him a vampire, and when he tried to attack the ronin, he felt an immense pain from disobeying the master/servant contract. When Haruki heard his screams of pain she ran downstairs with the katana Masun had forged for her as a present, and tryed attack the ronin. But the ronin was a vampire master and was much quicker than she was, so he quickly subdued her and took the katana from her hands. Then the ronin vampire master ordered Masun to kill Haruki with the blade he forged for her. He disobeyed the order and sat in anguish with immense pain flowing him through him because of the master/servant contract. Haruki couldn't bare to see Masun in pain so she grabbed the tip of her katana, the one Masun was holding, and ran herself through with it. Haruki wanted to see the the sunrise one last time, and so Masun slide open the rice paper door as he held Haruki in his arms, her blood staining his hands. The ronin issued an order, but because the sun light was upon them, their vampire powers were no longer active. Masun pulled the sword from Haruki's chest and attacked the ronin. He was caught off guard because of the sunlight stripping him of his powers. Masun slew him, but no amount of revenge could bring back Haruki.

All these things were filling Masun's mind, his smile slowly changed to a hurt, confused look.
"Uh- yeah... no, you're fine. No need to apologize." Masun struggled to find the right words as his mind swirled with unwanted buried memories that he had been trying desperately to forget over the years.
He reached in the shadow cloth sack that he had draped over his shoulder and pulled out a random bottle. It was Maple Whiskey, he uncorked the bottle which was brand new, and chugged down about half the bottle instantly.

Charles walked over to the table with his soda. On an edge there was a case with various rounds already made inside. He set his drink down and pulled out his pistol and began to reload the gun with a few specific bullets. Afterwards he closed cylinder and snapped the case shut. Charles holstered his pistol and picked his soda can back up. He left his rifle in his room and went back out to the lounge and sat down on a couch, waiting to see if anyone would show up. Before he sat down he gave Sam a wave and held up his sodey pop towards her own. "Cheers mate." He said and then started watching Tv as well while taking sips.

Even though Auria was clouded by her own emotions, she noticed that Masun looked different from before, as if he was depressed. Was it because of me? She thought to herself. "Daijoubu desu ka?" Auria asked with a soft voice, sounding quite worried about him. For someone who lives quite close to Japan, she knew the slightest bit of Japanese.

Masun's head was spinning, and even though it was partially due to the half bottle of whiskey he downed, it was also because of all the memories he had kept buried coming up to the surface. Masun barely heard Auria because of how dazed he was, but after about thirty seconds he replied with, "Ee... Genki desu." He took another swig of his whiskey before placing it back into his back. He then placed a hand on Auria's head and said, "Oyasumi nasai" as he patted her head. He then turned and walked out of her room. He walked down the hall, and into the hallway of the male wing, and found his room, the one without a name placard because he took it off.

He opened his door and placed his shadow satchel on his bed. He noticed the mini-fridge, and opened it to reveal various IV bags of different blood types. Masun took them all out and placed them on his bed, and then grabbed the liquor and placed it in the blood's stead. Cold blood is disgusting anyway. He thought as he searched for a place to put the IV packs. He found a few cabinets inside the bathroom that were empty and placed them in there. He kept one pack for himself and walked back to his bed, and sat down. Masun opened his mouth, his canines extended to three times their normal size, and he bit into the plastic, using his straw-like canines to suck the blood out of the pack. What most people didn't consider about vampires is that their oral anatomy was different from a humans. A vampire's straw-like hallow canines were connected to two tunnels that run up through the gums and up to the roof of the mouth, so that the blood could be sucked up through the teeth and deposited into the mouth where it could be swallowed.

Immediately the sweet taste of blood filled Masun's mouth, and he graciously gulped it down. Even though it was cold, it had been a while since he had a full meal, so this blood was extra good to him. Masun drained the blood pack and tossed the empty plastic into the trash. Masun walked back into his bathroom and opened the medicine cabinet, there was some rubbing alcohol, some baby oil for the skin, some cotton balls and swabs, some unopened tooth brushes, and some cleaning wipes. He grabbed the cleaning wipes, the baby oil, and the cotton balls, activated his power to consume them in a shadowy cloth, and draped it over his shoulder. He reached into his coat pocket, and grabbed his empty flask, filled it back up with rum, and walked out the the lounge. He placed the satchel on a coffee table in front of a leather sofa. The satchel disapaited into shadowy wisps leaving behind the items that were in it. He then extended his hand, summoning his sword Haruki, and quickly disassembled it. Taking out the pins from the handle, he was able to take off the handle, the tsuba and the cap from the bottom of the handle, leaving only the blade and the blade's tang. The blade's tang had an engraving on it which was the kanji of Masun's old name Muramasa 村正 He opened the cleaning wipes, which were wet with a cleaning solution, and carefully and quickly rubbed down his blade. He then took the cotton swabs and drenched them in oil, dabbing the blade down with oil. Masun then pulled out a whetstone and began sharpening out any imperfections. There weren't any imperfections, there never were, the mixture of the original craftsmanship, which gave the blade its mirror sheen, and the magic which made the blade bound to him, made the blade almost indestructible. But blade maintenance was always a sort of meditation for Masun, and it kept his mind from wandering.

Charles watched Masun clean his sword from his couch, paying attention to the details of the sword. For a moment his eyes seemed to light up when he saw something. However before he could continue Sam replied. He took a sip and looked over to her, now spinning the remote around in his left hand. "A few convenient devices and my cartridge making equipment. Besides that, my thousand and a half different items of course. Well... it's not that many." He said with a chuckle. "Most people would label me as a collector. I ain't no bloody dirty hoarder though." Charles added. He wasn't lying either, despite his rugged look and willingness to get dirty if he needed to, he was nearing OCD when it came to cleanliness and hygiene.

"A collector? What do you collect? Rare plants, stamps, insects, photos of rare animals?" She had had a small 'cool' rock collection before she moved out. Unfortunately, that had stayed 'home'. With a sigh, she stared at her hands. They could be very deadly, if she actually practiced. Before, she'd always been tired... but if they were going to become nocturnal....

"Many things mate, however the best way to label everything would be trophies and mementos. Personal items, weapons, jewelry, instruments, etcetera. Some of them are gifts, but most of them aren't. I don't get gifts very often." He explained. "I've never been a picture takin' kinda of guy myself. And the things I do wouldn't look good framed up in a photo either to most." He added as he took a sip from his drink.

She shrugged and went back to the watching of the television. It seemed to be cartoons at the moment. She didn't mind, though they seemed a little dry and obvious. She finished her soda and checked a clock: It'd be morning soon. She would probably go to bed soon.
