Why I Hate Equestria Girls

Okay, well when Equestria Girls was first announced everyone lost their minds and deservedly so. People were shocked how Lauren Faust's creative vision had been disrespected and had been used to create something it wanted to not be. Yet when the movie came out, everyone was like "Oh it wasn't that bad". Well guess what guys, this movie hasn't been bashed nearly enough, and I'm about to give it a fresh line of hatred.

 

So what happened to the whole idea of MLP in the first place. The fun and colorful characters, the Disney like charm of the whole franchise, the great villains, the fantastic music.... e.ct. Most of all MLP was created by a creative and respectable desire to bring quality entertainment for girls.

 

I have not seen a single thing, so far and disrespecting of the original creators vision in my life. Whoever thought it was a good idea to change a happy, fun, and respected kids cartoon into some teenage, poppy, high school bullshit, is an absolute idiot. Apart from the opening which plays out like an average 2 parter, their is nothing to enjoy here. Dr Wolf said stuff like "You'll find quite a lot of enjoyment here" and I say that no you won't.

 

Every character is a shell of their former colorful selves, and it a giant middle finger to anyone who ever gave a damn about MLP.

My 3 major problems are as following:

1. The high school setting

2. The Humane 6 aren't as good

3. The implications of magic in RR

I think Equestria Girls is fine, do I think it's mind blowing? not really and there is a lot of things wrong with it but the problem is not really the High School Setting, the characters are still pretty much like they are in MLP:FiM but the true problem was the plot didn't really make all that much sense and if you want my opinion you can pretty much just watch Bronycurious's 4 parter review on it because he pretty much nails everything I thought was wrong with the movie.

 

That being said Equestria Girls 2 was far more enjoyable.

I respect your opinion but i dident really think it was THAT bad but it had a few problems:

 

1. Not enough Pinkie 

 

2.The charecters was not as fun to look at.

 

3.The setting was boring.

 

But i liked the animation and the charecters were pretty nicely humanised though.

The writers actively insulting the audience is plain to see in stuff like Pinkie just nullifying the major conflict of the first movie by "guessing" every detail of the story.

I don't like it mainly because it wasn't the creative team's idea.

 

Hasbro was like "We need some doll thingy to compete with the other popular doll thingy's on the market. We're lazy... and MLP is doing good...OMG LETZ USE THAT  We're so smart!!!!!!! 

 

I also HATE that it went to the high school setting. The fact that MLP isn't that is a big reason why I like the show.

 

The characters also look kinda weird as humans- especially their clothing.

 

 

But although I wouldn't call myself a fan of EG, the team did a relatively good job with what they were given to work with.
