Look guys I changed my mind, I think this thread should be closed. I was being an idiot, please don't judge me, of course it doesn't all suck after season 1, it got better after season 1. Season 2 was the best in MY opinion.

They weren't yet apologizing for what they did, they were just whining about "you're mad at us too?", as if anger is an unreasonable response to what they did. I say, justified. :okiedokielokie:

Did you not notice the sorrow in Applebloom's voice? And did you really think it was necessary to say: "You should be ashamed of yourselves" when it should've been obvious that they were?

I hated the episode in season 4 when he actually tried to talk but people kept interrupting him. He's turning very one-trick and in a very annoying way that stunts his growth as a character.

Nobody's judging ya, we all have our theories and Ideas that don't exactly pan out with what's going on in the show. Hell I was convinced their planet was flat till someone pointed out the BIG FRIGGIN GLOBE in the tree house lol, THAT was kinda embarrassing

Fandoms like ours do have the drama lamas though, I don't think a months gone by without at least a dozen "OMG THE FANDOM IS OVER #endoftheworld" threads.

So true, on both accounts :P I've had fan-theories really obviously blown out of the water by simple logic too, and there are a load of negative nellies out there, who have nothing to add to conversation but "I hate this" or "this is awful" or "OMG fandom down #it'sallover". Rather un-fun way to go about being in a fandom if you ask me, Pinkie Pie would not approve  :okiedokielokie:

Actually Arcto, I'm proud of you. Yeah you felt negative about something, but when faced with rational discourse you were willing to listen and adapt. Brohoofs for you friend, brohoofs for you ;)

I find Zecora similarly ruined by season 2 on.

How exactly can you ruin a character that has virtually no scenes?  Did she have any appearences in season 1 besides Bridle Gossip?  I don't really think there was enough there to ruin in the first place.  It's not like they established this complex, dynamic character and then later betrayed her characterization by having her act like an idiot or something.  She's the same as she's always been--a side character with enormous potential but like 2 seconds of screen time per season.

Oh yes, and I don't think Big Mac was ruined either.  He doesn't act any differently than he ever did.  Again, no characterization betrayal.  It'd just be nice if they'd give him a few more lines once in awhile.  I wouldn't object to a Big Mac spotlight.  (And I don't think H&H Day counts.)

She had Swarm of the Century, where she tells Twilight that everyone's boned. And though not an appearance, Twilight was headed to Zecora's for tea when she got stoned.

But this is what I mean. In the first season, she's an herbalist with knowledge of things like Poison Joke and remedies and that sort of thing. But at the same time, there are things she doesn't know much about, like Parasprites.

Ever since Season 2, she's gone 100% plot device, having extensive knowledge on dragons, ancient mystery diseases, magic potions, in season 3 she literally says she knows more about magic than Twilight does, and in Season 4 she just shows up with no purpose but to move the plot forward. She's not a character anymore, she's a solution.

I don't think so. His running gag have yet to bore me, and we don't need every character to talk often (Just look at Soundeave from Transformers Prime, whom remained completely silent right until near the end of the series).

And even if he was, there's really not much to ruin anyways.

I don't necessarily mind that Big Mac speaks less, I see him as the type who can speak volumes without saying a word (or by just saying a few). I would like to hear a bit more from him though (only once in a while, so as not to betray his silent, stoic characterization) , as I find Peter New's voice for Big Mac somewhat underused.

Yes, he was ruined. His entire character is wasted and turned into comedic red neck stereotype who seem too stupid to talk. Being a silent doesn't make you look wiser. It make you seem like have nothing intelligent to say. He basically become Time Turner or Bulk Biceps character with no input into the story while character like Discord who appeared 3 seasons later than him had more lines and development in one episode than he had in entire FiM screen time. Cheeriemac episode is the most he ever said and people mostly recognise him from either that ship or from the background. Every fan of Big Mac should be dissapointed of his depiction and those who are content basically don't really care about him.
